The San Juan Airport Hotel offers travelers the convenience of close proximity to the airport, a feature often highlighted in reviews. The rooftop terrace is a hit among guests, adding charm to the otherwise basic atmosphere of the hotel. Opinions on the service and amenities are mixed, with some guests commending the staff's friendliness, while others find the service lacking and amenities such as breakfast overpriced. Room conditions also receive mixed feedback, with concerns about cleanliness and noise due to thin walls. Despite its cleanliness and maintenance, many guests question the hotel's overall value.

Comfortable room, very clean needed ear plugs for airport sounds, may have just been our room location though. Faced terminal and could hear announcements and some air traffic noise, other than that room was great. Dining room was excellent.

We spent one night, Saturday February 29th, here. We were landing around the dinner hour and knew we didn't want to fuss with a cab and then finding something to eat so we decided to book this hotel for the quick stay. Signs in the airport have arrows pointing you towards the hotel. We were met with a very friendly front desk clerk who offered us bottled water and got us checked in. He explained where to find all of the amenities within the hotel.
Our room was small, but we didn't really need a lot of space. It was clean and we were able to watch some planes take off which is always fun!
Our check out the next morning was just as easy. We asked the front desk clerk where to grab a cab and she said not to worry she would call us one.
I don't think I'd want to stay here for a prolonged period of time based on room size and nothing within walking distance but it is perfect for what it needs to be. It was pricey but when doing research I found most of the area is expensive in general.

Signage to the hotel could be better from the baggage claim area. At night, it is confusing, dark and intimidating, at least I found it so.

This hotel is located at the airport so there is outside noise all night long. I had been travelling for about twenty hours and was exhausted but had to wait at reception whilst a group of men was checked in by the sole receptionist. Not her fault but irritating nonetheless as it was almost midnight and I was alone.

The room was clean and comfortable but take your earplugs as airport noise can be heard all night long.

The Room is worth around $120 per night, not the mid $200's. The Convenience of the location can be found 15 mins down the road, so will never stay again. I was totally surprised at how small the room was.

We contacted the hotel multiple times to try to get any sort of refund or credit during the Puerto Rico earthquakes, since our flight was cancelled and we were unable to make it to our reservation. The room was “nonrefundable”, but I was hoping that under such extenuating circumstances, they would be able to help out. Every other reservation we made was able to give us a full refund, so I am disappointed that we weren’t able to get a room credit to use in the future or any other compromise.

Response from SanJuanAirportHotel, General Manager at San Juan Airport Hotel
Responded 14 Jan 2020
Hi Alison, Thank you for your review. We apologize for any issues you experienced with our Hotel. We don't have a record of your communication with our property. We would've appreciated if you could've requested to speak to a supervisor or General Manager and we would've addressed your concern immediately. Its important to communicate to you and to anyone visiting our beautiful island of Puerto Rico, that San Juan was not affected in any way, shape or form. Additionally, as an FYI, flights to Puerto Rico were not canceled due to Earthquakes in the South of Puerto Rico. With that said, we would be more than honored to issue a credit to stay at our property in the near future. Please contact our GM directly at GM@airporthotelpr.com or (787) 791-6000. Thank you and great day!

Avoid if you can. I made the mistake of thinking this would be a nice hotel with great views of the airport. It was neither, felt more like a prison, and I had their Executive Suite, the most expensive room, ha! I escaped the day after I arrived, only reason I even stayed one night was because there was a curfew after 10pm and I was tired. Pictures say it all, remember this is for a room rate over $300/ night. The view is of cooling towers, bathroom is tiny. Would not pay over $50 for that room, feels like a very cheap motel. Breakfast was included and you had 2 options, cheese omelette or a sandwich, plus coffee, juice and oatmeal. They bring it to your room due to COVID precautions. The breakfast menu is in the picture. Was told the restaurant was open but didn’t stay to even try it. There are many other hotels in San Juan to choose from, close to the airport. Definitely would not recommend it to a tourist.

Our flight was supposed to arrive around midnight so we booked a hotel room here so that we wouldn't have to deal with a taxi at that time of night. Our flight was canceled and the next flight was delayed so we ended up arriving at the hotel at 8am the next morning. We couldn't go to the cruise port until 1pm so decided to still try to check in to use the room to sleep a few hours. They checked us in without any issue and even gave us a late checkout of 1pm without asking, and then pointed us to the free breakfast. We ate and then went to nap. The room was small but everything was clean and quiet. There aren't many hotels that will let you check in at any time of day so I highly recommend staying here if you have a late flight that could be delayed.

The hotel is in a great location, but very expensive and the quality of the room and breakfast is very basic. Quite noisy, both of the planes outside and other guests in hallway inside - soundproofing could be greatly improved. Front desk staff were helpful.

Although the people that we met were quite nice the hotel itself is just an awful condition when we got to the room the shower was dirty with a shaver and washcloth still in it from the previous guests.

The doors and windows are not sealed, so the bright sun comes in. There’s no blackout curtains and the doors are so open to the hallway that light comes in around it.

The beds are either completely worn out or so soft they’re almost not able to sleep in. We did not have a good night sleep

We had dinner the night before which was extremely average and the beer we had was $12 per bottle unbelievable

The free breakfast in the morning contained eggs were so dry. They were not edible, overdone, bacon, and little to make breakfast edible. The decaf coffee I had came out of a jar and powdered.

Front office personnel were the rudest I've ever encountered. As a Healthcare CEO I travel Very frequently and stay in many hotels. Don't book in this hotel, if you Have to cancel for a catastrophe you lose all your money. I tried cancelling a month ahead because of the earthquakes near my family and they were very rude without any compassion and denied to return my money. This week I tried cancelling sure to emergency preparedness for the Corona Virus in the state where I live and three need off preparing my hospital as mandated by the CDC, and this hotel people can care less. All they care is about their money. It's not the fact that I lost $200 for one night, it's about the principle about doing business and at least showing compassion for the circumstances. Just know that if you book in this hotel, no matter if the world is ending, they will not give you the money back and they will be extremely rude to you. My family will NEVER stay in this hotel. They need to learn they sell customer service, not just a bed for the night.
