This was one of the most memorable trips I've had. The owners (or hosts?) as well as the other guests were so much fun. From my experience I can say this hostel is definitely for party type younger adults. We broke night, listened to music, and enjoyed 101 beers. The place was not clean or appealing to the eye and...

I've stayed at a good number of hostels and I can't find anything that would make this a lesser experience than the others. My boyfriend and I had the opportunity to meet some great people at the hostel who showed us around and took us out one night (most were staff!). We were only there for a short 2 days...

Staff and people staying here were so fun and loving. Everyone is there for a good time and they love to go out and have a little fun. Besides no A/C, I loved staying here. They are the best hostel we stayed in! The upstairs bunks are a little more relaxed and quite whereas the downstairs is a little more...

I was already skeptical when I arrived at the palace and found a grungy looking, dirty entrance with bra lying on the floor of the entrance. The staff greeted us unenthusiastically, and brought us to our room, telling us that it was "having a mosquito problem." The room was actually filled with mosquitos -- more than I've ever seen in...

I'm an experienced traveler and have stayed in many backpacker hostels. Although the staff here is friendly and welcoming this place is really gross. For 50 dollars, you might get your own room but you are still sharing a bathroom with many other people and layers of filth were really disgusting. The walls are very thin so it's hard to...

So cool. Did not want to leave. Much love to all of the staff, volunteers and visitors of The Palace Hostel.

For this price don't expect decent accommodation. Generally, the place looks very messy. Filthy fridge and kitchen. There is much to be desired about the bathrooms too. If you plan budget one night stay this place is ok and, of course, if you are between 18 and 45 years old.

Let's get a few things out of the way first: -This is NOT a hotel -Breakfast is basic (toast, peanut butter, jams, coffee, juices) -It's in a questionable, thought not necessarily unsafe, part of town (I remember walking to the store two blocks away past half-naked hookers on street corners and homeless people squatting to take a dump in the...

1. There was no way to reach our room from the main entrance without going through an open-air area and it was raining heavily 2. The number of electrical sockets was not sufficient enough for everyone to charge their phones. This is pretty weird, in this age of smartphones.
