We loved our 4 night stay at the Doubletree in San Juan! The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming, especially valet, front desk, housekeeping and the restaurant team at Cafe Pierre- we felt at home. We ate at the restaurant several times and got room service; we enjoyed the food and found it to be a reasonable price point. You can walk to the Condado district in about 15 minutes- the beach is walkable but we did also use the shuttle to the beach which was very convenient- everyone at their beach club was awesome. We did walk to the art museum which is about 2 blocks. There is a Starbucks and several other restaurants within walking distance in addition to what is offered on property; also a take one leave one library and a homemade ice cream shop. Housekeeping service was always extremely timely and well done, absolutely perfect. Really amazing hospitality, thank you so much to the whole team. :)

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights pre cruise and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Check in was quick and smooth and the signature cookie was well received after a long journey from the UK.
The room was adequate for our needs however there was no shower gel, only soap in the bathroom. Shampoo, conditioner and body lotion were provided.
We didn't book breakfast and there was no need as we found plenty of places to eat nearby which were really reasonably priced. We ate at Bebo's and Pinky's for breakfast, both only being a short walk from the hotel and very good. There is also a large, well equipped supermarket directly opposite the hotel which also hosts a cafe with delicious food on offer. Having said that we ate in the hotel restaurant on the last night and really enjoyed the food and service.
The hotel does offer a shuttle bus service to the beach but it really is only a 5 minute walk. Sunbeds and towels are provided and the beach is really quiet. The sea was quite choppy when we were there and great for watching the wind surfers. Not so great if you fancied a swim though.
The hotel pool area is lovely and not busy, we always managed to get a sun bed and towels are provided.
On our last day we booked an Uber to Old San Juan, the Uber service in San Juan is very good and cheap, the journey cost just under £5.
I would recommend this hotel for a short stay and good for a pre cruise stop over.

Not in old San Juan, but regardless, a nice hotel. The room was pleasant and what we expected. As a gold member we had free breakfast every morning which we appreciated. The gym and pool area were enjoyable as well. The staff was pleasant and they had a golf cart shuttle that drove us to the beach whenever we requested it. A 24 hour grocery store was right across the street and some very good restaurants were within walking distance. A $6-7 dollar Uber ride got us to the sights at old San Juan so we were happy with our setup. Would definitely stay there again.

The good: excellent and friendly front desk staff from checking in, dealing with issues, answering questions to checking out. Bellboys were helpful and sweet. This location has a Starbucks and is across the street from a supermarket, walkable to many restaurants, and the beach. You can also take a hotel golf cart to the beach. Our room on the first level featured a private patio and direct access to the lounge and pool area.
The not so good: The pool is very small. The room is smaller than what the pictures lead you to expect. Some common area furniture is worn out. The beach umbrella/chair attendant seems unhappy when you show up an hour before they close down (he also didn’t want to give me chairs and umbrella - this upset me because we pay a hefty amount on resort fees). Other guests smoking (despite hotel’s no smoking policy) while using the hot tub results in my family and friends not wanting to go into the pool and hot tub area. Additionally our first floor room wound up right in the path of the smokers’ fumes; the fumes make their way directly into our room. However, the front desk was very responsive to the issue. I do wish the front desk didn’t call me at 8am while I’m on holiday.

The rooms and bathrooms need to be taken care of better. The showers are gross with black mold and grime in between all of those tiny tiles. Also the “beach club” area needs to be manned by someone pleasant, since the guy in charge of the chairs and umbrellas had a horrible attitude.
Also there’s no service from the hotel restaurant at the beach so I had to Uber to Supermax from the beach (which was conveniently across the street from the hotel) to buy a cooler, ice, drinks, vodka, water, tortilla chips, salsa, fruit, plates, cups, forks, and salad to make my own experience. I shared with some others around me who were disappointed as well. The guy who drove us to the beach club was very nice and super helpful with recommendations on LGBT friendly areas and clubs for my girlfriend and I to go to.
The location was within 5-10 minute walking distance of a lot of restaurants and bars, and a cheap Uber ride to old San Juan. The pool area was nice and well maintained but pool service leaves a lot to be desired. Having laundry inside was helpful with washing clothes before returning home to cut down on sandy luggage as well.
The restaurant/bar left a lot to be desired with food choices, flavor, and service at the bar. Luckily there’s lots of other places to go nearby.
For the price I paid however plus resort fee (which is silly because it’s not a resort..) it’s totally not worth it. Just go with another hotel even if you have to pay more so that you’re comfortable.
I am not used to this type of hotel or treatment for a vacation that I spent so much on.

The Doubletree Hotel was located close to where my conference was situated. The Hotel that hosted the conference was very unresponsive in providing a room. The DT Hotel was very friendly, within walking distance of where I needed to visit and some nice local restaurants.

Overall had a great experience. My son love the welcome cookies and the pool was much larger than I anticipated. I also love the hot tub. I like the golf cart that took you to the beach and they also provided a tent and towels. You are in walking distance to all the restaurants in about a five minute Uber drive to old San Juan which cost less than 10 dollars! Overall would recommend this for families but be sure to get the double bed because the rooms are really small

I had already checked in and selected my room the day before my arrival using the Hilton app. Even so, my room wasn't ready when I arrived at the hotel at 3:40 pm (checkin time is 4pm). The woman at the front desk said she would text me when my room was ready, but the text never came. I saw that the digital key was ready immediately and used that to get into my room around 4:30 pm. The room was modern and clean. The bed was very comfortable. Plenty of lighting options in the room, which I appreciated. If you can, skip the hotel restaurant. I got a seared tuna salad. It was 98% lettuce and what little tuna there was had gristle There are much better choices for meals a short walk away. I didn't use the pool or fitness center, but they both looked nice. The beach is only a few blocks away.

We were looking for a place where we can relax and rest, Double Tree by Hilton was definitely that place. From the time we arrived to the hotel, the valet parking staff help us with our bags, and gives us a filling that our car will be in a good hands.

they have a pool, laundromat coin operated, cafe the usual stuff.

the beach is a 0.6 mile walk . we stayed in the luquillo area earlier in a resort with direct access to beach so a bit spoiled there i guess
the pool is pretty small. luckily most guests were trying to go out but if you had more than 1 family there it was terribly crowded as was teh hot tub.
overall a decent place for a 1-2 night stay before heading out or going someplace else . not an entire vacation for sure
