Check in process was extremely long although I was told I would get a room in a 1 hour it took 3 hours, but I must say the room was beautiful we had the king swim up with jacuzzi tub in room. Only downfall the A/C stopped working twice. 1st time someone came quickly, 2nd time we were leaving the next morning and reported it to front desk.
Entertainment: the "Vibe Team" I give it 5/5 the DJ at the bar was amazing had everyone on their feet dancing and having a great time. Stage shows were good very nice Bob Marley Tribute.
Staff: I would say 85% of the staff was pretty nice some had a little attitude here and there.
Pool/Beach: Infinity pool and clean beach if you want a day bed or lounge chair be prepared to be outside by 6am to hold one otherwise forget about it. Poolside music was good, and they kept the guest entertained throughout the day.
and Finally ....... I
Food:
Food truck had assortment of burgers, fries and patties, Was tasty.
Pool Grill jerk chicken, jerk pork and corn was good,
Buffet certain items they ran out authentic Jamaican dishes, my suggestion always have always enough of the Jamaican authentic meals.
Restaurants: If you don’t download, the app and book early you will have difficulty with an availability.
The Restaurant Calypso was very, very disappointing this was supposed to be the authentic Jamaican restaurant and it was a horrible experience. We order curry goat with rice and peas, and I ordered the Jamaican Coconut Crusted Snapper. The curry goat came bottom of bow filled with oil. Not gravy Yes, I said oil. I have a seafood allergy to shellfish they ask that at every restaurant so why when I sked to have my food cooked separately, I was told everything is fried in the same oil and I couldn’t get the dish I wanted, I was told to pick a 2nd option. Why should I? What’s the sense of having someone with a seafood allergy eat in a restaurant if you could not cater to me. I was offered steam fish it had no taste was split in half with some white sauce and the plantain was hard and not sweet. We ended up leaving and didn’t not eat the food, left hungry because it was late.
I'm unable to review any of the other restaurants because we were unable to book any there was always going availability.
I would have given it a There4/5 but because of the issue with the food I'm giving it a 3/5.
Overall I enjoyed my stay but please work on this food issue a lot of people can get sick who have seafood allergies and you guys must cater to individuals like me.
We encountered several problems upon arrival, and throughout the week. First, I was accompanied by my husband and my two children, and we were given a room with only one double bed. It was very clear that there were four of us. After more than an hour of negotiation and searching, we were moved to another block. Then came the water problem, no hot water for 24 hours. Then the safe which no longer opened, and which afterwards could not be locked. But until then, it was okay.
Let’s talk restaurants… There is only one restaurant where you are supposed to reserve 24 hours in advance and it is the Zen restaurant. The others are always without reservation and we were told that there would always be room. We realize throughout the week that it is almost impossible to eat in the à la carte restaurants, because they are already all reserved in advance by the butlers. But for that you have to be part of the Diamond club. We managed to eat Italian twice during the week after a lot of waiting, and one evening Indian, where there is no Indian food on the menu... A real joke. During our week-long stay, two evenings the buffet was closed because they were having a fiesta outside and had taken out food outside. With definitely much less choice. But in general, the quality of the food at the buffet was excellent. At least one nice positive point.
There is a large main swimming pool, adjacent to the children's pool with water features. There are so many people in the afternoon that it is unpleasant to swim there. You have to reserve your places at the swimming pool around 6:15 a.m., otherwise there is no chance of getting chairs. Luckily I'm an early riser, so I quickly understood the game. But what a disgusting smell at the pool!
There was a Bako on our beach for three days, digging large holes, right next to the swimming pool, in order to bury the algae that had collected on the edge of the beach. There was a horrible smell, noise, in short not pleasant.
Fortunately the temperature was on our side, a little rain, but it was perfect.
The service is not very good either. Some employees are smiling and greet us, otherwise many of them are very stupid. But despite everything, we were able to enjoy our good times as a family, taking advantage of this beautiful warm sand, the sea which was also very beautiful. Not as blue as in the photos, but I still loved this stitch.
Also the sellers who come by every five minutes on the beach to sell us brownies “that makes you happy”! Ahahaha! we took advantage of the sun, and we still came home to rest.

I chose the Royalton Negril Resort based on glowing reviews, but my experience fell far short of expectations, especially for Diamond Club level service.
Check-In & Room Issues
From the start, the check-in process felt disorganized and underwhelming. Despite booking Diamond Club, there was no butler to greet us, and our room was missing basic essentials like bath mats, towels, and an ice bucket. When I requested extra towels, they were taken from other rooms instead of being properly supplied. My room’s drawers were stuck, making it impossible to unpack, and the shower required a plumber to fix, further disrupting my stay.
Dining Experience
The food quality was subpar. Much of it seemed prepared days in advance, with stale pancakes and lukewarm dishes. There were no clear signs warning of hot surfaces, which led to me burning my arm. This lack of attention to detail was concerning.
Service Issues
The promised butler service was inconsistent, and room service frequently failed to deliver. Transport within the resort was unreliable, with long wait times for the shuttle, forcing us to walk everywhere. This was particularly frustrating given the resort’s size and the premium price we paid for convenience.
Spa Services
The spa experience was another disappointment. The staff appeared untrained, and the quality of the pedicure and manicure was far below professional standards.
Overall Impression
While the swim-up pool was a rare highlight, the overall experience was extremely disappointing for a resort of this caliber. The lack of proper training, poor management, and failure to deliver on promises made our 20th anniversary celebration stressful and unsatisfying.
I cannot recommend Royalton Negril Resort at this time and urge management to address these significant issues to meet the expectations of their guests.
This version keeps your feedback detailed but removes repetitive points to ensure clarity and professionalism.
There is a buffet restaurant that caters for many tastes, lots of choice and nice food. There are themed restaurants that require booking. We tried the Hunter Steakhouse, Calypso for Caribbean food and the Italian. We both thought the food was ok in Calypso and the Italian restaurant however preferred the buffet overall. There are many bars dotted around the complex, we visited the beach bar adjacent to the main entertainment stage area. The bar staff were wonderful with special thanks to daytime bar ladies Tanesha, Cheval and our main man Andrew who worked in the evenings. These people really made our holiday special and are an asset to the hotel.
The hotel location was great, situated at the end of the beach of the bay. We had a junior suite in block six with a jacuzzi bath. The room was cleaned every day to a high standard. Thanks to our cleaner Annafette, Our room had wonderful air conditioning and a ceiling fan that due to the hot outside temperature was lovely to return to our cool room. Only issue it could be quite noisy with the entertainment until 11pm. We’ll probably pick a quieter room next time.
The hotel shop is quite expensive for souvenirs, so consider the locals on the beach in the blue huts at the centre of the bay.
Staff- I have to start by mentioning that the staff at Royalton Negril are very welcoming. During our 7-day stay, we did not encounter one unpleasant staff member. The staff were always eager to assist and always had a smile on their faces. I have to also take the time to advise my fellow diamond club members that our Butler Dorrett was phenomenal. She was always reaching out to make sure our needs were met. Every day, she would ensure that we had dinner reservations, bring washcloths to our room, and ensured we had everything, we needed for a stress-free vacation. My husband requests coffee every morning at a certain call and she would call us in the morning to confirm he received his coffee. She always went above and beyond which made this vacation enjoyable.
Beach -The water was warm and inviting for the entire stay, we vacationed in September; therefore, the beach was not crowded and there were lots of beach chairs available.
Cons
Food -The food was not the best. For us, this is an important aspect of our travel experience because it is a chance to experience the local cuisine. During our stay, the resort was out of Ray and nephew's white rum, which we were able to purchase outside of the resort. There also seemed to be a shortage of the national dish ackee and saltfish. Green banana, Blue Mountain coffee, and oxtail were missing or in limited supply at the buffet. I found it very interesting that food items that were not local cuisine were in great supply. I also have to mention that the jerk chicken was not very flavorful. On the bright side, Hunter Steakhouse will appease the steak lover, also Zen, which offers Asian cuisine is fantastic.

Problem 1 - Once again our room had a poorly functioning AC, the technician attempted to fix but had no luck. We were offered a presidential suite however we were not traveling alone and had preselected adjoining rooms with other family members so we could be together and have connecting swim out rooms. We opted to work with the fan in our room, try to keep the blinds closed and our room as cool as possible with what air we could get from the AC.
Problem 2 - rude staff, particularly in the buffet area. I personally experienced this with my server telling me I had to get my condensed milk and mimosa myself from the buffet (while my friend and her family made the same request at their table and were served), and I also observed this with another guest who asked for the location of cheese and was greeted with a rude, dry response.
Problem 3 - bugs. I had to kill roaches in the toilet area as I was alerted to it by my screaming daughter sitting on the toilet while they were crawling on the floor. Additionally, while I moved the dividing curtain in the room, it revealed numerous dead bugs that seemingly were there for a while.
The only highlight to the trip was the staff of the Italian restaurant, in particular Conrad, who provided exemplary service and also members of the entertainment team.
I received an apology letter and a bottle of Jamaican liquor for my troubles….It is sad to say however that this was my worst hotel stay and I will not be returning to the hotel that I got married at. The property needs maintenance and the staff needs retraining.

This is where things went south.
The Front desk service was completely unhelpful and said we’d need to rebook without a refund. This took over an hour and a half to resolve so we lost out on precious beach time. We ended up paying more for our child than we did for the two adult bookings.
Already off to a bad start it was disappointing to see the rooms weren’t cleaned to standard, some parts were old and tatty, the tub fixture was broken and there were stains on the sheets. Also there was no iron in the room and when we called both housekeeping and front desk it took around 40 mins for them to arrive in the room. We’d actually gone and asked people staying in a room down the hall if we could borrow theirs.
The only positives was the kind and jovial man who brought our luggage to our room and the Dance Group who provided the night’s entertainment. They were truly excellent
