This hotel was PERFECT for my family of 4 (two adults and two kids, 14 and 11). We had our own 2-bedroom cabin with a kitchen and screened-in porch. What you should know is that the inn is pretty out of the way. It worked for us as we had rented a car. There are shuttles offered to the beach 3 times a day (10:00, 2:00, and 6:00). You can also arrange to be driven to pretty much any destination for a fee. (I have no more info on that because as I said, we had a car). The grounds of the hotel are just beautiful, with 2 small saltwater pools and one large chlorinated pool (which we didn’t use because the saltwater pools are right by the ocean and the scenery is incredible). It is not a party atmosphere at all, but you can choose to be social by sitting at the bar. There are 2 restaurants on site, both with excellent and very reasonably priced food! We especially enjoyed the breakfast! The staff all around the hotel was incredibly friendly. The owner stopped by our dinner table to introduce himself and check how things were going. (He also gave us a great recommendation to visit Mayfield Falls which ended up being the highlight of our trip!). The road to get to the inn is rough but worth it! I felt 100% secure on the grounds and they do have someone at the gate letting people and cars in and out 24/7.

My husband and I traveled to Negril, Jamaica with the intent of doing absolutely nothing. We decided that the Westender Inn would be a great place to stay for us since it was a remote location, far away from any hustle and bustle of a nearby town. We were not disappointed.

I loved just about everything about the Westender Inn. Our room was a deluxe room that had an ocean view. It was very pretty and comfortable. The salt water infinity pools that were right by the cliffs were relaxing and cool. I lounged in one and watched the waves crash against the rocks over and over. The over all atmosphere is calming and relaxing and peaceful.

In addition to a nice place to lay our heads, the food at the Westender Inn was outstanding. Since it's remote and Negril is a good 20 minutes away, we ate at Westie's, the restaurant on the grounds at the Westender. We did not have a single bad meal our entire stay. The food was fresh and flavorful, and I wish I could replicate my meals I had there, here at home.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Bruce, one of the groundskeepers, drove us into Negril one day and found out I loved mangos. When we got back, he picked a breadfruit and three mangos and delivered them to our door. Colleen was out housekeeper and she kept our room neat as a pin. Our bartenders would make these delicious smoothies out of fresh mango, papaya and banana. The coffee we had in the morning, served to us by Natasha, was always hot and fresh.

Dan, the owner, was on the grounds and he made sure we were comfortable and gave great suggestions for places to eat and places to relax on the beach when we went into Negril.

If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing location. A place that is away from all the crowds, then the Westender Inn would be a great place to go to recharge and let go of all your stress. It's clean, beautiful, has a great staff, and marvelous food. The view is breathtaking. I hope we get to go back and if we do, I'd stay at the Westender again.

Just returned from a fantastic two weeks at the Westender Inn. We have been travelling to Jamaica for 15 years and this is our first non all inclusive trip, I have to say we will never go all in again in Jamaica after our wonderful stay. The resort is a long way out from Negril, only a few miles in actuality but that means a fair drive on the rustic road. When you arrive however you are greeted with warm hospitality and stunning views. We had a partial ocean view room, decor a little dated but charming, more importantly bed was comfy, shower was hot and powerful, and air con cold. Tv and WiFi were great with choice of film channels for evenings in. We had a lovely patio shielded with beautiful flora which gave way to a stunning view of the unspoilt scenery, I actually saw hummingbirds foraging for nectar in the pretty flowers. I sat there a lot just listening to the waves, reading and feeling connected to nature and the surroundings. I was also visited by sweet cats (although they were aloof so if this is something that bothers you I wouldn’t worry). We ate breakfast at the resort every day and also sampled a variety of dishes from the restaurant. It’s so laid back, room service is included, and staff will bring food to you wherever you are on resort, something that screams luxury to me. Food was great and sometimes excellent, again there was flexibility as to what you eat and when, if you want a late breakfast or hard food with your evening meal it will be delivered. We spent a lot of time loafing by and in the infinity pools, because the resort is small there is space for everyone to have privacy and shade. We pretty much always had a pool to ourselves which was wonderful, so different to being packed on a beach with posers and vendors. We also loved the fact that our Jamaican friends could come and visit for a drink which is impossible when you go AI. Other guests were super chilled and friendly, as were the staff. Everyone from front desk to security, to bar and restaurant staff made our stay special, the owner was charming and is clearly hospitality focussed. We used the shuttle into Negril and personally I didn’t miss being on the beach at all, I was more relaxed than I’ve ever been and really found my zen!

If you’d like a laid back, authentic Jamaican stay which is a million miles from a corporate and generic resort then I highly recommend the Westender Inn.

I needed a place to unplug and decompress, and the Westender Inn hit the spot! This was my first trip to Jamaica and the Inn made it so easy. Before the trip, the website was easy to navigate and the staff was available by phone. Upon arrival, check-in was simple and I received a free room upgrade! I was a solo traveler but Dan the owner, Paul and Javid at the front desk, Pete the driver, Tino the guard, Colleen from room service, and everyone else made me feel right at home.

The hotel is a collection of small buildings (not a large imposing structure), with the hotel rooms on the beach side and the cottages (for longer stays) on near the road. There is snorkeling and three small ocean-water pools. There is a restaurant with good Jamaican food and a laid back bar that doesn’t run late into the night.

The hotel’s secluded location in the West End means that it’s on the cliffs/rocks (though they have a man made sand patch) and it’s quiet. But they run a free shuttle to the beach (20 min) and have an inexpensive shuttle that can take you to nearby restaurants and spots.

If you want party action, or direct access to seven mile beach, or just the ability to walk around to different attractions, stay at a hotel on seven mile beach. But if you want some quiet, beautiful ocean access, and don’t mind being a short drive from the main beach, stay here!

We love the Westender Inn. We have stayed there three times and plan on returning in 2021. It is a quiet wonderfully relaxing inn with multiple choices of room types. We have been very happy with all the accommodations we used and have always felt safe. The sunsets are the best in the West End!
The grounds are beautifully maintained. There are amazing gardens, fabulous views, access to ocean swimming and snorkeling, salt water infinity pools and fresh water pool, full service open air restaurant and an ocean side bar.
Everyone working there is always ready to help. The staff is the most friendly and always acknowledge you with a big smile. Dan, Paul, Sharee, Korado, Anika, Keena, Tino, Parchee, Andrew, Ynique, Natasha, Pete, Kamar just to name a few. (I apologize for misspellings and missing anyone.) All of the housekeeping staff were very attentive as were the grounds keepers. The security guards were always in attendance.
The Westender Inn is a wonderful place for a quiet relaxing stay.

The Westender Inn was a wonderful, relaxing place, especially if you enjoy nature and low key. The grounds were immaculate and lush. You could tell the caretakers took pride in their work. We had great drivers Pete, Kamar took us safely where and when needed. Coleen was a gracious lady who worked very hard keeping our room tidy, always greeting us with a smile. The bar staff were great, food very tasty. Excited to come back again. Lynn and Terry Canada

If you are looking for a place in Jamaica with a hopping night life, parties, and multiple activities, this is NOT the place for you. However, if you are looking for complete relaxation with a beautiful view, clean facilities, and friendly people, definitely go to The Westender Inn.

The Inn is a beautiful setting and just listening to the waves crash all night helped me sleep like a baby. There is a large pool for sunbathing and swimming across the street. On the ocean side there are three small plunge infinity pools. The grounds are kept clean and the staff is extremely friendly.

We met lots of couples that have been coming here for many years, some that stay long-term, and some first timers like us. I learned to spot those that had been before as they were a bit more prepared than me. Bring your own reusable water bottle. The Inn keeps beverage dispensers full of fruit infused water for everyone to freely get. However, bottled waters are $1.50 each and not always easy to obtain. There is a beach bar and the restaurant will deliver food to the pool area, the beach bar, or even your room.

A few more things that were not as convenient as I'm used to like low water pressure, but I am on a beautiful beach enjoying gorgeous weather...a small difference in water pressure won't ruin my stay!

We met so many wonderful people, we will come back for a longer time period!

Our recent stay at The Westender was excellent. The location is perfect for anyone who wants to get away from the hustle, but with a convenient shuttle service it’s easy to visit the world famous Seven Mile Beach.

Staff were friendly, helpful and available if you need them making you feel at home. The manager Paul will take care of any need including arranging an affordable private airport transfer, housekeeping Colleen anticipated our needs and made sure our room was perfect, Nick will lend you snorkel gear and help you get into the water to see the reef project and amazing aquatic life along the cliff. We even saw him patiently guide two kids on their first snorkel.

The bar service is good and food is great. There is a lot of places on the property to set up in the sun or shade, enjoy the pools or a swing in a hammock while you listen the ocean waves.

Great stay - would love to come back and recommend you go!

I cannot in good faith recommend this place. I booked it primarily due to reviews, but was astounded with the low quality of the place. I feel 3/5 is being generous. We booked the best room, their large suite including a kitchen with ocean views. When we arrived, we were shown to our room, the lady (maid) left, almost nothing worked (appliances). There was no dish soap, dish sponge, or even a lighter to turn on the stove. The room appeared very dated. It was really dirty. Towels were blood stained, hairs on sheets. My toddler even found some weed buds in the middle floor. There was only like 2 spoons and I believe 1 old pan only. We took an hour to figure out most of the appliances were not plugged in. We had to move most them including the fridge to plug it in. We had reserved a crib in advance. It was not there, the manager stated it was not possible to get it until the next day (which we never got). Things were closed that day in town due to a holiday and we ordered some basic things, like water and some sodas (coke and sprite) from the manager in addition to dish soap, sponge, broom. A few minutes later a worker came to drop off the water and the sodas (weirdly enough they sent a grape soda, not sure why, they had confirmed the had the other flavors). It was too late to move to another hotel. The next morning we went to the front office, we ended up meeting the owner, she was very empathetic, nice. She did her best to accommodate, we asked to be switched rooms to another more modern (although probably less than half the size room). We never did get the crib and we kept the small room (but not dated) for a couple of nights until we left. Even though all this happened, we ended up paying the full rate price for the suite which we didn't even stay in (for exception of 1 night). We even ate breakfast there a couple of mornings (kinda of expensive). We were at least expecting them to refund the difference in the price of the room, but we paid full price for the suite. On the positive side, the exterior grounds were nice, secluded. The breakfast was good and the employee Romaine was really nice. Our accomodation in Montego Bay the rest of the days was superb and was 1/2 the price.

We stayed at the westender for five nights and the place is lovely. The staff is marvelous and the place is very quiet. The beachfront with the pools and the cliffs is amazing! even though its not the youngest hotel, it is very well maintained and also continuously improved. Great value for money, especially considering the prices in negril in general. The food is good as well and they offer free rides to the beach three times a day.

in general, everyone was very helpful, Paul, who works at the reception and probably is some kind of GM leads by example and from bar to cleaning to shuttle driver, everyone follows suit. It seems like the people are working under good conditions as some of them have worked there for 15 years+.

Also they are very conscious about the environment and have e.g. a reef restoration project going on right at the cliffs.

would come again, bc the staff was happy and friendly and also the service was above my other jamaican experience.
