Check-in at hotel was very quick and welcomed with a cool drink , nice after a 9 half hour flight! bags were delivered to room quick enough! tipped the bell boy!

Well, Congrats on winning the trip. You should should have a great time. It's a 90 minute ride from the airport to the resort. Although I usually travel with AAVacations, I have the choice of transportation. Although a private car will get you there faster and not stop at any other resorts to drop off guests, The total cost was unrealistic so we usually just book transfer to an from on a van/bus. I think the cost was around $30 each US Dollars. You can check web pages for transportation from the airport to the resort to get an idea of the costs, you should see both options, private car and bus.
We will be there again in August, our 5th trip. I think you will have a great time, if you read the reviews the resort is fine. Its actually a Riu Clubhotel, meaning its more of a fun environment I dont want to say a party resort but that have entertainment going on to join in and just have fun. I will say, if you are expecting a 5 star resort that waits on you hand and foot and you expect to be treated like the king and queen, you will not like this resort at all. Its a big resort 800+ rooms I have stayed at the Riu Cancun, Ocho Rios is not as fancy and there is no large nightclubs and shops within walking distance like Cancun. But it's a nice relaxing place, great beach, pools lots of sun lounges. Anyway read the reviews, pretty much ignore the ones from the snooty people that expect the staff to bow down to them. Its Jamaica! Relax, ignore the little issues, just have fun. "ya mon" Hope that helps!
