We came to this resort to renew our vows as we had originally been married in Jamaica some 27 years previously. Our original idea was for this to happen 2 years previously on our silver wedding anniversary but due to COVID had to be rebooked twice! In fairness this was our second choice hotel as we could not rebook our original choice. The wedding coordinator team changed the booking twice with no fuss and were brilliant. We came in the two weeks prior to the hotel closing for a full refurbishment so were a bit nervous as to what would greet us. As expected the rooms were very tired in some of the blocks, and the hotel is of an old colonial style and sprawling over a fair distance. If you are at all infirm then you may struggle to get about. It is a very private and secluded place, with a quiet ambiance, perfect to de-stress and refresh. The food and drinks were great, and the entertainment also very good. The staff on the whole were welcoming and friendly, and our day went off without a hitch thanks to the wedding coordinator and photography team making our stay a memorable one for all the right reasons. Is it a five star hotel? No not at the moment but once it has been refurbished thanks to the service and gardens probably. …
A great hotel, very quiet with small beach. Walks within grounds.Good choice of restaurants on site and most water sports free! Spa facilities too.Evening and daytime entertainment including a weekly Gala dinner. It's a thoroughly relaxing holiday if you want it to be or try out all the sports!
This was our first trip to a Couples Resort, and we were not disappointed. The grounds are beautiful and we loved the views from our Penthouse Ocean Suite in Block D. Housekeeping did a super job of cleaning and stocking our room. Would love to see what the rooms will be like after they are refurbished. The staff at the resort were very friendly and helpful, and took super care of us. I had a couple of massages at the spa while we were there, Jackie did a super job! Loved how quiet and relaxing the beach and pool were, I always could find a shady spot. Did not use Sunset Beach other than to get a picture of the sunset there one evening, so can't rate that. Thanks Couples San Souci for a great trip!
A very beautiful resort with a GREAT STAFF, really enjoyed most offerings. Your Breakfast should re-think Breakfast start time...Most people were a little annoyed with start at 7:30 if not later. In addition, if you have a Martini Bar & Balloon Bar, the high end (Grey Goose) should be available all times, not the Beach Bar/Sunset Bar where same was available most days. If it were possible, the Main Beach water have the seaweed growth withing the perimeter be removes as many don't like to wade in this. As well at the Sunset Beach the rocks be removed so that you can wade into the sea. Otherwise, this is the perfect Couples Vacation resort.
Beautiful clean tidy well looked grounds. Breakfast was perfect every day , loved the singing pan cake chef. Attentive service. Housekeeping was really good. Entertainment was not the best , during the day someone would ce to the pools and shout anyone for a quiz then of there wasn't lots of responses the Entertainment didn't happen in 10 days of being at a pool all day I witnessed 1 quiz and 1 game of volleyball . Advertised rock painting both Tuesdays on the beach it didn't seem to happen. A la carte which you had to book or room service every evening but 2 when there was fantastic buffet food. We loved the music and bonfire on the beach night. Dunns river was a great excursion but I wouldn't recommend the shopping trip . Mini bar in room was good . Sunset beach (au natural) really made the holiday. Never done a natural beach before and it was very lovely atmosphere and lovely bbq at lunchtime. You needed to be there early for a sun bed by the pool. If I lived closer I would return but a 9.5 hour flight was way to long and the prices were to steep for what we got to be honest .. on the whole though it was a beautiful resort and very pretty …
We loved this resort. We stayed in building A on the third floor. We loved the location of the room bc it was close to the Sunset beach, breakfast and grill. It was a little loud but the entertainment stopped very early. It didn’t disturb us at all. As others have written it was important to be up early to get an umbrella on the nude beach, we did that daily. But to suggest that there was no room is not accurate, at least for the time we were there. You may not have an umbrella but there were plenty of chairs when we were there. We could always get as many towels as needed and wanted. The resort could fit many more umbrellas on the beach and would be wise to do so. The sunset beach is what made the resort so enjoyable for us. We went by the main beach and tried swimming there but the water was extremely shallow with seaweed in spots. It wasn’t enjoyable. Sunset beach has some rocks so water shoes helped us. We wouldn’t return if they only offered the main beach. The staff was mostly very friendly and helpful. I only encountered one woman bartender that was always ‘off’. Everyone else was great. The food was very good. I have a food allergy and they were always willing to help out and make sure my food didn’t contain the allergen. One time there was an accident and I noticed the allergen on my wrap and the server was more upset about it then I was. The veggie bar employee went out of her way to make me special foods to enjoy. It was a wonderful vacation and I understand why everyone returns year after year. We’ve booked again for next year.…
Great resort, but very crowded. Management would be wise to address the Sunset Beach problem (early morning race for lounges/shade) as we heard lots and lots of angry grumbles. Buffets ran out of food due to the crowds. Entertainment was good, service was fine, & grounds were lovely.
We just returned from our second trip to this resort and loved it as much as our first trip. So much so, that we just booked again for next year already. We stayed in the B block this trip and loved the location and will probably choose that room type going forward. Our room was clean and nice and the food we had all restaurants was delicious. We did have a private dinner at the spa gazebo this year and it was set up beautifully and the food was great, but the time it took between each course was entirely too long so we will not be doing another one. We weren't even hungry anymore by the time our main course came out (45 minutes between soup and main course) which was disappointing to us. We somewhat understand the time delays though with how far they had to go to get the food from the restaurants. Most of the service we received was top notch, but we could definitely tell that some people did not want to be there and were ready for the upcoming shutdown for renovations. Luckily, those bad attitudes were not the norm overall. I want to give a big shout out to a few of our favorites...Mickhugh, Ashley, Fayon and Daine. I'm sure there are many many more, but I am drawing a blank on names now. Our only other complaints about the trip were that we were not given all of our resort credits up front and had to go to the front desk multiple times to get them added to our account. Also, we were given the wrong time for our departure shuttle so we ended up sitting in the lobby an extra hour waiting to leave. This was not ideal obviously and we were not the only ones. They had the same issue with a lot of other people on the day we checked out. We still had a great time and are obviously returning so those little issues did not make us love this place any less.…
We have been to Couples San Souci many times. We have loved every one of them. This was no exception. This trip like others was not without issues, but nothing that lowers our love of the Resort. Supply issues were noticed, and what I can only think was a staffing issue one night in Casanova's. We are already booked for 2023.
After living in Jamaica for a couple of years, we usually go back every year to visit friends and keep exploring the island. Our ritual visit usually ends with a 4 day stay at Sans Souci where we can relax and enjoy all the amenities that this beautiful resort has to offer. The staff is always so attentive, the food, drinks and services are excellent, the ground is beautifully landscaped and offers older trees to crate a rich canopies. The unlimited scuba diving is a major plus for us, and we love the sunset (nude) beach!
