It was our 1St time in Jamaica & our 1St all inclusive we managed to secure at the last minute. We arrived late but was greeted with a welcome drink never the less which was great. After checking in we dropped the luggage off and went straight to dinner following the long flight from the UK.
The cove is next to the splash, far quieter which is what we prefer. The resorts pretty big and daunting at 1St but as soon as you find your way around its easy. Just be aware of where the bars and restaurants are located. The variety of food was good and suited a lot of tastes. There's also a drinks station 24/7.
Rooms are cleaned everyday, not at set hours and the mini bar is replenished daily. We stayed for 7 days which was just enough fitting in 2 days worth of excursions. Beware if you've signed onto adventures in Negril/Falmouth as its a long drive.
The traffic during peak in and around Montego Bay is terrible, so is the driving. Just avoid peak if you can or pick a good driver who knows the hills to avoid it.
We found the staff courteous and very welcoming meeting our every need. For a hotel I'd definitely use one of their other branches in other countries. All in all very happy with the resort.

The Cove Terrace restaurant was a great. Lovely setting, good atmosphere for dining, good food. The staff and wait staff were terrific. The resort property itself was in need of updating, physical condition of our room was not the best. It was clean, however only had 3 outlets, needed for the lamps. More attention needed to amenities, towels were not always in the rooms when the room was done for the day. Several days I needed to call down to have one to use for my shower. The pools are nice, but altho the hotel requested people not reserve lounge chairs for over 30 minutes without actually using them. books and personal items were left on chairs for 3-5 hours without anyone using the chair. Many folks had no chairs to use (myself included) They need "Pool attendant" to correct this abuse or get more lounge chairs.

Just returned from a family vacation at Sunscape Cove Jamaica. Overall it was very good, just needs some upgrades. The food at the buffet was great and changed daily, a la carte restaurants were also very good. The size of the resort, including Sunscape splash was just right and allowed the kids to roam freely. Beach was very good, as were the pools, the free non motorized and paid for motorized activities. The place does need an upgrade, especially the rooms but who goes to the Jamaica to sit in their rooms. The shining star was the majority of the staff from the beach combers to the cleaning staff to the servers and bar staff, all fantastic. But the big standout out was Cyril, one of the entertainment coordinators, the kids took a liking to him on the first day and he interacted with them daily. Whether it was free dancing on the pool deck, beach volleyball or just lending an ear and giving input about how things work in Canada vs Jamaica as a whole and the resort itself, he was just great and the kids were sad to have to leave in big part due to Cyril.

Overall my experience was negative and the cons outweigh the pros... So I don't have much positive to say about the resort.
Rooms: It's a family resort but no elevator so it was difficult when they couldn't accomodate our 1st floor request for part of our stay. We had to carry two strollers up and down the stairs everytime we took the kids out.
Rooms: We also requested a crib for the baby - it arrived 7 hours after we got the room and only because I called them 3 times to followup. Once the crib was set up, the room was so tight we had zero walking space... We would jump across beds to get to the door.
Kids food: Food for kids was very limited, and the limited variety was poorly made. For example their pizza is made on flatbread that is hard and stale (pic attached). Pasta at the restaurants had no flavors not even salt. Fries were the only decent option for kids (is that even considered a meal?)
Food: Their buffet options are quite limited, and the flavors are just not upto par. One evening we ordered a basil pasta and there was no basil (pic attached)! And the pasta sauce was a low quality bechamel sauce without any seasoning or spices. Ordered risotto another time and the vegetables were raw and not even slightly cooked/sauteed. They don't have any smoothies or fresh juice at buffet. We traveled with a vegetarian in our group and they pretty much ate potatoes and pasta due to limited options.
The bars: drinks at only the lobby premium bar are good, but other bars on the resort watered down the drinks quite a bit. The bars and pools open pretty late - I think 10 am it was.
We also got scammed by their onsite photographer, and the resort provided zero help. We purchased two photos from them and were informed that the photos would be emailed later that day (we were checking out the same day so we left in a hurry to catch our shuttle.) When we landed back home we saw they only emailed one photo. It's been 4 months with several follow up emails and pretty much pleas from my end - which the photographer has ignored over and over again, and the resort has offered zero help in this situation. The photographer works out of the resort lobby and not once did the resort bother to followup for me. Resort continuously ignored my request for help and refused to speak to the photographer to see what the problem is. It was out first trip with our newborn and so the photos served an important memory to us and still absolutely no care by Sunscape Cove, its head office AMR Resorts, nor the photographer. After multiple requests and emails to all these people, it's unfortunate but I never recieved the photo with our baby or a response.

So, I read the reviews before coming and I usually take them with a grain of salt. Believe them. The staff cleaning the cups on the beach were great.
They were out of washcloths just about every night. They banged on the doors every night at 9:45 -10pm, looking to exchange pool towels.
The food was just ok. We did enjoy the asian restaurant, but service is beyond slow. The coffee shop is a nice touch. I thought the rum tasted like kerosene. The design of the family pool area is poor and the resort is just in need of an update.
There was 2 separate passwords for WIFI and lots of dead areas.
I would look for other resorts. This is not a 4 hotel.

This place is in desperate need of some care and attention.
Rooms were small, dingy, and grimy! The bathroom was nothing short of foul. I am willing to overlook wear & tear from a humid climate near the ocean, but the tile grout was literally blackened. We put down the shower mat outside the shower, and as it got wet it turned black from all of the residual dirt on the floor and in the grout. Beds were fine, but pillows were tiny and lumpy.
Wifi didn't work. This is basically unheard of nowadays. The resort needs to invest in appropriate technology.
Pools were also really tired. Dirty, broken plastic loungers and torn umbrellas everywhere. I saw some small boys playing with some blue colored jewels and then realized they are actually pool tiles. The pool was literally falling apart.
Food was below average, even for an all-inclusive. Burgers were overcooked hockey pucks. Super small selection at the buffets. Even nachos and pizza didn't taste right. We couldn't taste any alcohol in the drinks except for ones made in the Cove lobby.
I have no idea how or why the Cove side is considered upgraded. There was nothing premium or upgraded on that side of the property.
I would never stay here again, nor would I ever recommend this property to anyone else.

This was my 8th time at Sunscape and my Wife's 2nd, This time we stayed for 10 beautful; days. I am 59 and retired for about 3 year now. My wife still works at a very stressful job, so when we get the chance to get away , we are looking to kick back and relax. Sunscape Cove "fits the bill". We had a Garden view room which was wonderful. One of the things that really makes our stay so enjoyable are the people that work there. What impressed me is, not only that they are so friendly, but that they actually remember us from the previous years. It's to the point that it feels as though we are visiting "Family", when we go. My wife treated me to a "Romantic Dinner for Two" on the beach, for my birthday. We were Blessed to have Leroy as our server. He was outstanding ! At the Terrace there is a Gentelman named Mr. Albert Jump. He is the manager. An AMAZING Person!!! The day we arrived we had lunch at the Terrace. Much to our suprise, Albert actually remembered, not only us, but after a year of serving probably thousands of people, he remembered us by name! He came over and gave My wife and I a hug and stood with us for a minute to catch up a bit. He is He is a "Gentle" man with a Wonderful soul. I can honestly say that we miss him! Everytime he saw us, regardless of the time of day, he would always ask if everything is ok and to let him know if we needed anything. Very comforting. During our 10 days we had met quite a few of the staff. Impossible to mention all of the them but they really go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of. To name a few, there was, Omar, Shakera, Shaniel, Chryshelle, Kerry-Ann, Odane, Jameel and Shane. Outstanding people, who if you are lucky enough to meet them, they will definitely make your stay at the Cove a Pleasant One! If I could change anything about the property, it would be that they provide a section of the beach, at the far end, for adults only. Sometimes between the music and activities from the pool area and the kids playing in the water , it can get quite noisy. There is plenty of beach to provide a "Serenity Beach" area for people to enjoy the sound of nothing but the waves!! Looking forward to our next visit, this November!!

We traveled here the second week of January so not prime time. We didn't have trouble getting into the ala cart restuarants but we usually went for 6:00 when they opened, pretty much every night only 3 restuarants were open each night. We didn't have trouble getting beach towels or bath towels but we did have to have our key card reprogrammed about 6 times. The resort is tired and needs updating some of the lounge chair need replacing and they where starting to do this while we where there. The food was good drinks where good, it is what you make it. Entertainment was ok, some from our group snorkelled along the rocks saw a few fish but not much, then they did the $40 snorkel trip with the Kelly's watersports and said it was good and they saw lots of fish. Would I go back probably not.

Taking a trip here during the nationwide pandemic is not ideal circumstances, but we LOVED every minute of it! The location was amazing with several beach areas (one right outside of our first-floor hotel room)! A swim-up bar area, lazy river, and several spots for kids. They had a game hut full of items for entertainment, vendors lining the inside of one bar area for travel free shopping of local goods, and so much more! The food was incredible! Five restaurants were available for splash members and two additional restaurants since we were staying at the Cove. At many all-inclusive places, the food can be a drag, but this was no joke! From appetizers to entrees and desserts, everything was delicious. Shekira started off our mornings serving us at the restaurant with such amazing hospitality.
The best part of this place, by far were the people that were caring for us. They were always incredibly nice and genuinely wanted us to do nothing but relax and enjoy our time. Shaun, the first man we met, took our bags and refused to have me help, saying this is your paradise and no help is needed. Then we met Tiffany, a wonderful front desk person who helped us to upgrade our rooms from the Splash resort to the Cove. Carlisha and Vinroy, our butlers, took incredible care of us! Making sure we had everything we needed and could always be in contact with them. They truly went above and beyond to provide for us as guests. The bartenders always had a great signature drink and a smile on their faces! Some of our favorites were Shemar, Novar, Cruze, Richard, and so many others! OD came around on the segway by the beach and showed us how to ride it! Really fun guy and always helpful when we needed him!
The spa was incredible and the staff there are amazing! They explained each service to us and made sure to provide such great care of us during our massages and facials!
Mr. Wise was a great tour guide for our downtown shopping excursion! Offering great advice and guidance about where to shop and how the folks in Jamaica operate.
I could say so much more, but just know, THIS is the place in Jamaica that you want to be!

This was a trip taken to check out the resort as a potential place to take our kids & grandkids. As such, we didn't have our expectations for a truly upscale experience set too high. The property itself is in need of updating (painting and patching up of the water features, pools, lazy river, etc). The in room mini bar was disappointing in terms of both selection and quantity. The various bars around the resort had no premium liquors anywhere. They were also understaffed and pretty slow to serve you. The variety and quality of food available on property was a very pleasant surprise. All of the meals were delicious, prepared to order, and were served with a great deal of care and pride. Albert, the restaurant manger, and staff made each meal a great experience. The beach area was pretty small for a resort of this size, and there were not enough palapas or chaise lounge chairs for the number of guests present during our time there.
