Zoetry Montego Bay Jamaica offers an atmosphere of tranquility and intimacy that many guests appreciate, set against a backdrop of serene vibes and quaint charm. However, opinions on the amenities and service are split; some commend the pool and butler service, while others are let down by inconsistency and limited options. Room cleanliness and views receive praise, but issues with maintenance and outdated decor are noted. While the hotel's location near the airport is convenient, the value proposition is questioned by numerous travelers who find the cost too high for the level of service provided, and noise from traffic is a common concern.

Our stay at Zoetry in March 2020 was exceptional. It is a gated boutique hotel with a small number of rooms, and simply beautifully situated on the beach. It has a a spa, sauna, steam room, hot pool, massage services, and gym, all with expert staff attached. You have to pay extra for some of these, and they are not cheap. Were the hotel to include them in the all inclusive price, it would be a winner. The food was always delicious in two restaurants, along with jerk chicken at mid-day. Staff were wonderfully friendly, courteous and positive, offering classes in patois, bracelet making, cooking, water aerobics and circuit training – all of which were included in our price, and all excellent in our view. We especially enjoyed the tai chi and yoga classes in the small pavilion at the end of the pier, with the sea all around us, and the teaching was caring and careful. We had the opportunity to talk to staff and get to know them, which was a real privilege and offered a wonderful insight into Jamaica. The swimming in the sea from the pier was lovely but we avoided attempting to swim from the beach as the water was shallow, and there was lots of sea weed. The beach was a beautiful narrow strip of sand but perfectly large enough for the amount of people who were staying. We would say it is not a hotel for families – rather for couples and individuals who wish to re-charge their batteries. We did think the taxi service offered by the hotel was unacceptably expensive.

Dear 6adev, Thank you for such detail review, and for your kind words about the team. We are happy you felt like you were able to share with them and understand more about this beautiful island country. We understand that you felt some services that are not included can be perceived as pricey, but in regards to the spa, we constantly run specials and promotions, we definetly want you to enjoy at a price that is right for you. Also about the taxis, we dont regulate their pricing, what we do is ensuring that the taxis that are on property are properly licenced and insured, so that you can have peace of mind. We have tried several times to get them to work on more sensible pricing, but we have been unsuccesful. Thank you again! please stay safe and come back to Zoetry Montego Bay!

An absolutely AMAZING place to relax and be at one with nature in a luxurious setting. The resort is practicing excellent COVID procedures regarding PPE, social distancing, sanitizing and adhering to procedures established. ZOETRY is absolutely Breathtakingly Beautiful, the food is delicious and the staff not only attends to your every need but they actually anticipate your needs in advance.

The manager Sandra Bloom did everything possible to ensure our stay was a first class experience. She is an amazing person and her attitude and energy transfers to her staff. Tiana the F&B manager went above and beyond to make sure anything we wanted to eat was made to order and cooked to perfection. Every dish and drink was delicious and we fell in love with the Green juice and Melon banana smoothies.

Kayla from the sales team made sure that we knew everything about the resort and checked on us frequently throughout our stay. She made sure we knew all about the resort to ensure we had a full and complete Zoetry experience.

Kevin, Kyle and Melissa also made a lasting impression with exceptional service and a smile at every turn.

Zoetry is my top choice for a beautiful, luxurious resort for rest, relaxation, culinary delights and impeccable, professional service with a smile in Montego Bay!

First of all even if we booked the best room in the hotel and we advised the hotel that we were on honeymoon, we have not been receiving any honeymoon treatment whatsoever and nobody seemed to know the reason of our stay.
Be aware of the fact that the resort is next to the airport which is convenient for transfer time but indeed inconvenient when you want to sleep or relax on the beach.
During our short stay in our master suite our neighbours were a family with a few months old kid screaming all day long (thankfully not during the night).
Overall resort conditions are very poor and ll seems to be aged or not maintained at all. The minibar was ridiculous lacking everything including sparkling water, wine, beers and any spirit. During check-in even if the hotel was not so crowded we had to wait for more than 2 hours (hotel knew very well our arrival time) to get our room. We went to the spa but nobody was there to assist us which is totally unprofessional. In room hairdryer has literally no power and my wife had to stay 30 mins to get her hair dried. We have been told that there were no mosquito killers in the room so we bought one at the gift shop but we eventually realized that one was indeed in the room. Wifi was extremely slow and it was impossible to download emails. We have been given a bottle of "champagne" in view of our top tier purchased all-inclusive package and i can promise you that this terrible sparkling wine does not even deserve to be called Champagne.

Dear Vinot88, Thank you for your review. We understand you found some of our services didnt meet your expectations and we are sorry about that. Zoetry is very convenient to the airport as you said, and we do have some plains that fly over the hotel. Zoetry is not an adults only hotel, we are an adults oriented hotel, we allow children and from time to time we will have families trying to recharge that might have small kids. In regards to the maintance we have a team that is always working to improve, and we appreciate your feedback, we will look into the additional areas were we need to have more attention. Finally, your minibar is part of the all inclusive and comes with a series of standard items, but if any of our guests have any special request we are always looking to accomodate or personalize. In regards to the sparkling wine we have an selection that is included, but our guests can also opt in for any of our not included options and we have coupons that will give you discounts for those purchases. Thank you for your feedback!

I have never left a review before, however if I could save one person from going to Zoetry, Jamacia I would be doing my due diligence. So much of what they stated is untruths. It is like picking up a beautiful novel and when you get home you realized that there is no print on the page.
First of all, there are not four restaurants. They have one restaurant , the second is under reservation and the third is a Jamaican hut. For those of you reading this I was looking to be spoiled. I cook all the time and was looking for great food and feeling satiated by hands other than mine!
When we arrived to a room of double beds and requested a king size bed they were going to charge us 250.00 US dollars to upgrade for king size bed. In every turn they were looking to take advantage of our American money. They Dissuade you from leaving the grounds due to safety and then have the Gaul of charging 100.00 dollars a cab ride to go to town ten mins away. I was almost willing to spend that money to avoid their
Atrocious food.
The staff was willing to please, However, this is a boutique hotel with 49 or 46 rooms tried very hard, but had very little to work with. Why were there approximately six other families there on the grounds the nights we were there. Probably taking cab rides for food. My travel agent called all sorts of authorities of this franchise and then only then others were notified of conditions.
Remember I told you the facade is pretty enough! It the contents to watch out for. Poor quality of attention, everything is “Jamaican” time.

Dear 757randig Thank you for your review. We had the opportunity to interact during your review. In regards to your arrival to a room with two double beds this is what came to us in the reservation that was made by your travel agent, after the misunderstanding the agency realized their mistake and willingly change your room in order to amend their error. We understand you felt the food was not up to your liking and we had our team following up so that we could personalized for you. Unfortunately, we were advise about your situation by your travel in the last day of your stay, when I personally met with you. In regards to the taxi rate as we had explained before, we have nothing to do with the taxi rates. These are set by the local union of transport, we only ensure the taxis we have on property are insured and known to us as responsible drivers. We dont recomend taking taxis of the street as we are uncertain if they will have proper insurance or not. Again thank you for your feedback and for the time you had taken to share your experience

Let me start by saying the property is lovely, the lobby smells fresh, and the hotel feels intimate. What prompts me to give such a poor review is due to the false advertising as it pertains to their food offerings. I have an allergy to food preservatives so dining out is often difficult for me in general, this is why we ended up choosing the Zoetry. Their website boasts of "fresh, natural, from scratch items" which seemed like it would give me the most options for a particular diet of any of the properties we considered. Upon arriving, we made my allergy aware to the head chef and asked him explicitly what I should avoid. "Basically nothing" was his response, he seemed so sure and confident in the quality of their items. I even specifically asked about the marinade for the afternoon jerk chicken, to which he said "everything is made fresh in house with herbs and spices and natural ingredients." Cut to, a few hours later when I'm eating this chicken and watch the griller pour a substance from a plastic jug onto the meat - this worried me considering I was already eating the food that was supposed to be made from scratch so I asked to see the jug and read the label. This was a generic "jerk" marinade that was bought in bulk and full of the preservatives that I was allergic to! We were irate and I was sick within the hour! It's one thing to be duped by their website but another to be outright lied to by the staff even after explaining there was an allergy involved. After an angered encounter with the chef and general manager following this incident, all of the niceties from the rest of the staff seemed to disappear and we'd become the "difficult" people. I was afraid to even eat the rest of the trip for fear of getting sick again. The disappointment of this whole thing ended up putting a dark cloud over our vacation and left a souring impression of the hotel chain as a whole.

Well, to start we did Club Mobay which was amazing! We were picked up by the shuttle, which almost passed the hotel, and dumped out on the sidewalk with our bags. The driver pushed them to the gate where a cab driver pushed them in to the hotel. The next morning after waiting 45 minutes for breakfast we returned to the room to realize that renovations had begun on the outside of our swim out suite. We booked the swim out suite to distance ourselves because of Covid. As the plaster fell on our patio and in the swim out pool for 2 1/2 days, we made the best of it by visiting the bar. The keg blew the first day and was never replaced so we were given cans of Red Stripe. The food and beverage staff were great, but we didn't receive any sort of apology from management until we checked out in regards to the inconvenience of the renovations. We ordered cheeseburgers from room service one night and it took an hour and a half. Everything has to be done on the tablet in the room. When we contacted the front desk they said there was no record of our order. Which arrived 20 minutes later 🤔. We are travelers who put our phones in the safe on vacation, this is not an option there as you have to scan qr codes just to see what is on any menu. We also requested housekeeping on the tablet 3 times in one day and called the front desk, they didn't show up. Finally at 4:30 I called the front desk to cancel so we could shower for dinner. While I was showering they showed up for turn down service, which they had not done in the previous 5 days, and I asked "Turn down what, an unmade bed?" Next day requested housekeeping again to no avail. I finally hollered up to a room above ours when I saw a maid cleaning the balcony and finally got our room cleaned around 3:30. We have stayed at other properties affiliated with Zoetry and not only were we disappointed but a lot of other guests were as well, even a couple that belonged to their flagship club. Two days before we left, we took our covid test. The day before we left I received an email from American Airlines, my husband is an advantage member, that the CDC changed things and the test had to be within 24 hours. The front desk knew nothing of this change and we were scrambling. Luckily since we were leaving before December 8, our test 48 hours prior would suffice. The results only stated "Not Detected ". Good thing we have been vaccinated because the airline would not accept the results but did after we showed our vaccination card. Thank God for American Airlines! We were reimbursed for 2 days, but that didn't make up for our time and the vacation we have been cheated out of, especially after learning the resort had actually scheduled the renovations knowing guests would be there, and had hired them from Ocho Rios.

Pros: The resort is beautiful clean and quiet, the room a/c worked very well, the grounds keeper is pretty cool, and the maid we saw a few times was very nice. Jerk Joe's is tasty, we managed to snag an upgrade. The last two days of our stay the beach wait staff were very attentive and friendly.

Cons: The concierge emailed ahead of time about a possible room upgrade and any desired room stocking. We asked for juice and snacks. When we arrive our UVC Rep was in a meeting and we were told to come back at 10am the next day. The room was not stocked with what we asked for. The next day at 10am the UVC rep was again unavailable and was in all day meetings. She managed to sneak out of one when I walked by and accused me of ditching our meeting. I informed her about the snacks and juice and she said she emailed me to ask about what I wanted specifically and I never emailed her back, which is untrue (I double checked and had my husband check). I did follow up on the email thread before we got there to ask about pregnancy safe excursions and currency exchange and never got a response. We asked two other staff members for these things throughout the trip and never received them. We were informed I could not have the free spa service because of my pregnancy and would not switch it out for a different service that staff may feel more comfortable doing. The barista actually argued with me about having caffeine during my pregnancy and didn't want to give me my drink because I've had too much since we've been there. I'm well aware of how much caffeine I'm allowed to have, thanks. The food is terrible and so is the service. Jerky Joe's is the only good place to eat on the resort. Room service took at least an hour and would be cold, and either be missing something or messed up (ex: no drinks or accidentally putting sides in the same dish and serving it anyway). The restaurant food is also very bad, like gross. Again service is very slow and if you ask for something there is a 50/50 of getting it. On our last night we were served half raw lobster tails. Lastly, No one warns you of all the upside down jelly fish. Luckily we have a large saltwater tank and are fairly knowledgeable about salt water aquatics and spotted one first. However, someone else did step on one while we were there. I don't think people expect jelly fish to be under their feet. I could continue on but I won't.

We had a wonderful experience! The hotel truly prioritizes service and caters to individual requests and dietary needs. We especially want to thank Chefs Richardo, Christine, and Lyndon, who went above and beyond all possible expectations to accommodate us. They redefine excellence.

My companion and I each have complicated, both not necessarily overlapping dietary needs. At each meal, the chef came to speak with us and cooked a fresh meal, entirely from scratch, that we wanted. When the soup contained a vegetable we couldn't eat, they made a new one for us without it. When we asked for fresh coconuts, they had the landscapers pull them from the trees. When we asked for berries, they sent someone to town to buy them. When we were concerned that the tea bags might contain caffeine, they cut fresh mint and steeped in to make a delicious tea! This was our first time traveling with these strict health restrictions and they made what could have been a stressful situation into a gourmet experience, redefining farm to table. It wouldn't have been better if we had traveled with a personal chef!

When we asked if we could see how they made the food, they even set up a special cooking lesson, just for us.

They take their time, but do things right! Thank you so much for everything!

To make our stay just perfect, we booked a run of the house room and got a spectacular ocean front room with an amazing balcony that was perhaps 20 or 30 feet from the water.

This resort is not for everyone but I was looking for a haven to get away after a week of group travel and seeking peace + quiet. Location wise, it's a bit close to the airport and the main road so you will hear some traffic/plane noise. To avoid this, request for a suite closer to the ocean/away from the road. The room itself is huge and I have a beach bag with a fan + hat so I'm beach ready. The patio for the master suite category is huge! It has a jetted tub, seating plus lounge area.

Great place to read books, eat organic fresh food + drinks, authentic/classical music, while listening to the waves. Yes there are only two main restaurants onsite but it serves rotating menu/theme nights daily and one of them is located beachfront by the dock.
I would recommend coupling this place with another stop so you get the best of both worlds and not missing out on the "party" scene. I would not come here for the "entertaintment" or activities factor.
The staffs were great. I had one of the best swedish massage with Michael and as a guest, you'll get free foot ritual massage. Definitely worth the 20 minutes and your feet will thank you later. I got assigned not one but two dedicated butlers, Kyle and Bennett and they were super helpful. They filled out the ice daily in the room for the bottle of sparkling wine and local rum and even help making the reservations for snorkeling boat trip which is included! The sea life out of the deck is amazing and probably saw more fish there than anywhere else I've been to including Turks. Saw puffer fish, baracuda, and so many school of fish.
The morning yoga by the pier was the perfect way to start my day and the coffee bar serves 16oz cup specialty coffee, not one of those mini disposable cup you typically get.

If you're always on the go, this is the place to unwind from it all and I would try to add a couple of nights minimum here to relax before headed back if you can, it's worth it.
