The staff is around 24/7, they're very friendly. It's a gated house but it is all open air so just be weary of mosquitoes. We had actually booked the star house, which is the part above, where you sleep in a net under the stars. It's actually quite nice. But since we arrived so early, they let us stay in one of the closed rooms in the main house, which was nice to have our privacy. It cost $38 CAD/night, which is cheap for Haiti. I liked being in one of the main areas of town, to be really immersed in the culture. You can ask them for a driver, as it is best to have a chaperone, especially at night. They have a water cooler, so don't be worried about not having water. And there is a full kitchen with fridge and stove so you can eat and hang out there. There are tv's. They don't have many channels but it is better than nothing. And there is WiFi.…
I paid 20$/€ for a night under the stars. This is the absolutely cheapest safe option you'll find in PaP. Neighborhood is so-so, but still OK. Supermarket (rare) and safe ATM (even rarer) 5-10min walking distance. It's on top of a hotel and you are sleeping under an open roof. With all the noises around, you can expect sleep from 11pm to 5-6am. Kitchen available, toilet and showers OK'ish but everybody can hear everything. I had this other guest who was having digestion troubles, and yes we could hear it as if we were holding his hands ;-). But again: this is Haiti and security is paramount. Thus, still three stars.…
