I’ve never written a review before. I’ve travelled to over 46 countries and at least 20 all inclusive resorts ranging from 3-5 stars. This has been by far the worst experience. We arrived today. Check in was fine. However we gave the tags to the bellboy for our luggage as instructed and the luggage took 2 hrs to arrive and even for that we had to call 3 times. Front desk doesn’t pick up the phone. And then they delivered the wrong bags and so we had to go back to the front to find out bags. Fine. Then the a/c in the room stopped working about 30 mins after we got our bags. I called guest services and said we are going to dinner but please have the technician come in while we eat. 2.5 hrs later they still had t come. I called again and was told he was on his way. 30 mins later he still hasn’t arrived. Also, the tv doesn’t work. This is where they list all the hotel activities. We asked at the front desk and they said apparently they hadn’t completed the registration properly at check iand said they would do it right away. 6 hrs later right now and they still have not done this. Not enough bath or hand towels (one for the room) and no face towels. There is consistently only one person working the front desk and they constantly seem to be dealing with some issue with a patron so you can’t get served. Also the rooms are not sound proofed even a little so you can literally hear everything and everyone that passes outside. I’m not expecting it to be like home. You always hear some noise outside but this is something else. I have called front desk 6 times and my roommate 2 just to get our bags and try and get a technician to get the a/c working. And the latter still has not occurred. Also they don’t apologize here for any of this lack of service. I usually stay at the RIU chain and would highly recommend that for anyone travelling anywhere south. I had Berber tried royalton before and for the at reason wanted to try it. Big mistake. Don’t do it. Go to any other chain.

We traveled to this resort for a quick getaway. I was shocked to find out that all inclusive does not actually mean that you can eat all day at this resort. If you don’t eat b4 3 pm prepare to starve until 6. Also if you are at the pool or the beach the only way you can get food is if you rent a cabana. So unless you get a cabana you can not get any food at all!! Which is ridiculous!! Also room service is $5 !! I have never stayed at an all inclusive resort where food is not available all day. When I originally planned the trip I booked the Riu but I changed to this hotel a couple of weeks before we left because my friend said Royaltons are so much better. I’m sorry I switched because the Royalton was more money & it definitely wasn’t worth it. I will never stay at another Royalton resort ever!!

Where do I even start .. This was my husband and I second time coming to this resort. Before corona virus in 2019 we stayed at grand memories which we really enjoyed. We decided to return but instead chose to stay at the royalton because we believed we would be closer to the beach and all of the restaurants & entertainment. Surprise, surprise when we arrive after waiting 2 hours to check in we find out that royalton is now grand memories they just changed the name and we were over a 10 minute walk from everything. Our whole area was shut down all week until the weekend when the wild locals came crashing the resort. BTW we upgraded to diamond club members and were given a butler that did absolutely nothing for us. Didn’t explain anything or help bring bags to room when we arrived or when we departed we had to carry all of our own luggage to check out through the trolley. When we finally got to our room it was not clean there literally boogers smeared over the couch it was truly disgusting. Every evening all you could smell in our room was strong sewage that was literally coming in through the drains. Our mini fridge was never restocked. One night we called to get some drinks because we realized once again it wasn’t stocked. They called our room back over an hour later to make sure we wanted drinks …OBVIOUSLY.. but to no surprise they did not even show up so we stayed thirsty all night. BecAuse in order to get to the closest place to get a drink you would have to walk to the real royalton side which takes close to 15 minutes since the trolley never comes. So when you just decide to start walking after waiting over 20 minutes you try to wave down the trolley if it ever goes by and they just speed past you. So upsetting. Also make sure you understand the exchange rate because depending on the store they make it up themselves. And when you try to explain to them that is not the right exchange rate they pretend they don’t understand English. I am so upset I usually am pretty chill but I can’t believe this experience especially with being a diamond member. We tried to express how upset we were and that we wanted to be on the royalton side and they tried charging us an extra $416 like that was some kind of deal. I feel so ripped off. When we arrived they informed us we had an 80$ credit to use . So we decided to get a cabana one day $39 and a $22 lobster another night. Just to find out at check out they will not apply this credit to either of these things. Nobody explained anything to us. The steak house the best place to eat just randomly closes with no explanation. Items they have permanent on the menu they did not have. They had calamari one night out of our 7 day vacation. This situation topped it all off. From the beginning of our stay our remote for our tv was barely working. Finally one night in the middle of our stay it completely stopped working. You would think this would not be a big deal and they could just replace the remote. So we call down to the front desk. They sent a man up who did not know english. He brought new batteries. Which did not work. The whole time he was huffing and puffing messing with the remote. Finally he gets on his phone and passes it to my husband. It was the front desk who told us to go to sleep and they will figure it out in the morning. I was livid. GO TO SLEEP !!! On my vacation I was told to go to sleep like a child because they were too lazy to get a replacement remote. So one night with no tv at all and another few nights with absolutely no drinks. I will never return again or recommend this resort to anyone. Please save your money. I will be making a complaint to anyone and everyone that will listen. When we left the resort the lady told us to have a nice life because we were upset about having to pay more money when we were suppose to have had a 80$ credit . Never again. Stay away. Staff are rude and don’t give a f to even be their at this point. People on the beach harass you all day long begging for you to buy their service. Pathetic

Is so many people that we are and will be very grateful for . Starting by our Butler Lenny Martinez " what a guy " he did an outstanding job , he is on the reasons why we will be going back to the resort and stay at the Diamond Club. His dedication & constant checking on us to make sure we were ok was more than admirablez ! Muchas gracias por tu esmerado trabajo , cortesía y profesionalismo. Bravo! You made our Anniversaries more special than we thought! Outstanding service Lenny . We will only one to have you as our Butler. The cleaning crew ladies that did our rooms 1355 & 1342 for the week of September 12 to 19 were extremely nice to us & surprises every day with beautiful bed decorations, always clean and safe . The waters & waitresses at the diamond club beach & restaurants were outstanding with their excellent service and kindness. We truly admired how the staff , cooks , cleaning crew , gardeners, cheffs , pool crew, bartenders, security maintained their masks and make sure every one was following covid rules . Our Concierge Smerlin Goris was very responsive when we were in need of help regarding our room accommodations and listened to our requirements. A big thank you to all the cheffs , assistants, cooks for such a delicious delightful dishes¡ no complains what so ever regarding their food . Always clean, great flavors, great variety to please anyone and everyone, beautiful attractive food displays. A special thanks to cheff Marcos and assistants who prepared a stunning delicious food on the beach courtesy of the Diamond Club. Best maracuya " chinola" dessert i have ever had.
