Paradisus Grand Cana - All Suites is often celebrated for its spacious, immaculate rooms and vibrant atmosphere, which is enriched by engaging activities and tasteful decor. The hotel's excellent location near the beach is a hit amongst guests, as is the family-friendly water park and variety of on-site activities. Despite the praise for attentive staff, some travelers have had issues with room readiness, temperature control, and noise.
Additionally, guests have called out the resort for not delivering value for money, pointing out upselling and restricted amenity access. Cleanliness receives mixed reviews due to occasional housekeeping lapses.

Detailed Reviews
Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay. The food was excellent at all restaurants that required reservations. Buffet was very good, but a couple of days with some food undercooked (pancakes) or stale. Our only complaint is towels in the room and swapping towels between the pool and beach. Our room only had two towels for 4 people and we didn’t get extra towels until the next day. It would be best if you can exchange pool and beach towels anywhere without issues. The hotel provides every room with full size body wash, shampoo, and conditioner which is a perk to save on traveling with additional toiletries.

Resort Excellence
Similar story with everything after the pandemic
Resorts are getting back to their high level of excellence and we actually saw improvement as the week progressed .
If the 3 resorts there we have done them all. All are Excellent this one the Falcon is Newer . The swim up experience suites top notch .
My recommendation is the Falcon
Let’s start with mostly positives
Beautiful new or newer property
Wow effect for sure at main lobby and registration
Huge 1 and 2 bedroom suites
Swim up experience wonderful
Big semi private pools
Patios and jacuzzi were excellent
No complaints on the room
AC worked great
The Bed is the best there is in no any hotel I ever stated at .
Turn down nightly service excellent
The staff suite friendly
The drinks are excellent and plentiful
The grounds were very clean
The servers were super friendly
Notable mentions
Our assigned Concierge Omar was super . A great example of above and beyond service. Respectful , gracious , affable and super friendly . Top notch in his field.
The Breakfast server at Origin Marylin- Wow what service with a smile . Fantastic
Milagros at customer relations was excellent pre and during our vacation
The below expectations
Longer lines at the buffet than what we were used to
Buffet food was ok nothing espectacular
Food at times ran out of things or not replaced quick enough
Variety was good but repetitive
Some of the restaurants like Alula and Magu were not up to par with expectations
The other restaurants were great
The nightly entertainment was mostly music and family oriented
The water park is for 12 years old and under
The horrible - NOTHING
Enjoy it it was the experience of a lifetime as we celebrated a milestone wedding anniversary!!!

We had a phenomenal stay at Falcon last week. We have been to this hotel many times in the past before it was rebranded and this stay was as great as ever. The food was fantastic and the grounds are gorgeous. Our concierge Cristian Santana was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay great. We went to Flora at Paradisus Palma Real and Franklin Bautista who is the captain was great as well as Melina who was our server and Francisco Santana who is the chef and did a wonderful job on our meal which was a cool Dominican fusion. We also had dinner at Tori which was hibachi and Mayra Ruiz who was our server as well as Francis Perez who was the chef made our meal a fantastic and memorable experience. We had breakfast as well as two dinners at Amor Del Mar where the captain Celsa Guerrero as well as the servers Candy Sanchez, Phillipe Jean, Juan Valdez, Soraida Baez, Rosemary Alvarez & Veronica Hernandez treated us so well we never wanted to leave and the food again was fantastic. We went down to the beach and unlike years past where there was a lot of seaweed they have put a barrier up to keep it out so we had a great swim and a very relaxing time thanks to Santo Polanco who got us a great spot right by the ocean and Luz Rodriguez who kept us hydrated. We went one night to the garden suites for dinner and had a great conversation with Francisco Williams while we waited for our ride back to Falcon. We had a swim up room which was great and we made sure to let Oedybi Perez who works at the bar by the main pool know when we would be outside and he made sure to come by and check on us even though our swim up was on the the back side of the building to make sure our cups never ran dry. We also went to the YHI spa to get massages we were greeted by Wakidia Soto which made us feel welcome andright at home. We got massages from Alejandra Montero and Mariana Martinez my wife also got reflexology and she loved it. Maria Urena who cleaned our room everyday and Yara who is in charge of room service and the mini bars made sure everything in the room was up to the best standards. I can't end this review without giving a huge thank you to Daniel Dominguez who is part of Circle and was so kind and giving of his time gave us all the information we needed and helped our stay be the best it could be. I mention all these names because these people genuinely made our stay a wonderful experience.

This hotel is far from being a five stars hotel. The rooms were good but the food was horrible (which is an understatement) and the alcohol is watered down big time.
The service, however, was even worse than the food. Everything took so long to get, and we needed to ask things repeatedly, including towels (which is basic).
We were bothered non stop by different vendors in the hotel offering spa treatments, photos and trips by the same people we kept refusing to.
At the beach, we were continuously approached by non affiliated vendors selling hats, bracelets, hats and braids making.
We took an upgraded package which basically gave us nothing. Concierge was lovely, but practically useless. Stay away if you can- will not be back.

This was our second visit to the Melia Falcon Resort, formerly Gran Cana. However, we have been visiting this resort for about 12 years. I should also emphasize that we are members so our service is optimized. For example, our transfer to the resort is included but we have used Otium Tours in the past and they are very reliable. Car seats are available on request. Punta Cana Airport is modern and it takes about 20 minutes to reach the resort on a very good highway. As members we had an assigned concierge… Marianelly. We were pleased that our excellent former concierge Christian also met us. He is now in a supervisory role. Marianelly took us to our beautiful one bedroom junior suite swim up (master suite is a bigger option or the two suites can be combined). She communicated regularly with us and arranged all activities, including dining and solved any issues. She was extremely helpful and worked tirelessly to ensure we enjoyed our vacation.
Every morning we started at our buffet restaurant and had the same three servers: Crusairis Vasquez, Kirsi Mercedes or Escarlin Candelario. They were very charming and attentive… they loved to play with our grandson and we looked forward to seeing their big smiles each day. We have found ALL resort employees are extremely friendly. It is a great choice for families.
We were pleased to see that the renovations of the beachside Paradisus Palma Real Resort had been completed. We had a tour of the new Paradisus suites… very nice… bachelor layout vs our one bedroom layout. Booking options are as follows: Club Melia (4 star), the multi bedroom beachside Family Concierge, an adults only option, and the inland Garden Suites (formerly The Reserve) and Falcon by Melia. (About 1 km walk to shuttle to the beach) We tried multi site restaurants for dinner and often had lunch at Alula on the member’s beach. For kids the Falcon also has a water park plus a day kids program included in the all inclusive fee (1/2 adult age 2-12). There are lots of dining options as each resort has multiple restaurants but if you book a lower tier holiday you will have to pay extra for the higher tier restaurants.
Bávaro Beach is a beautiful spot to lounge, walk and swim during the day. The resort provide shaded lounges. The sun can be hot but there is usually a nice cooling sea breeze.
We did not try the Katmandú Park as we felt this was more suitable for younger clientele. Although it is an all inclusive resort we also left small tips for staff… not required but much appreciated.

This our second time at this hotel, the first time we had an awesome time, the amenities, food and rooms we’re excellent. We liked so much that we became members.
This second time as a members, the experience was deplorable. We booked three rooms an invited our father in law and my brother and his family.
Check-in: we check in and when we got to the rooms after a day long trip, the bracelets to open the room doors were not working and we had to wait more than a half hour outside the room for the staff to fix it.
Once we enter the room in one of the rooms the shower handle was broken. In the other room the was not hot water.
The second day, they forgot to put clean towels in our room, and we call requesting for towels the housekeeper told us that they did not have clean towels at the moment. WTF? A five star resorts that do not have clean towels?.
The third day, walking around the main pool I stepped on a piece of glass 😡.
They have policies at the pool regarding the cabanas, but nobody cares, we almost got into a physical fight we a guest because of a misunderstanding between the lifeguard and a security guard regarding the hotel pool policies.
Eveb though you pay a lot of money to go to this so-called 5 star resort, they treat you really poor at the restaurants if you don’t have a reservation. They don’t let you seat at the restaurant even if the restaurant it’s half full.
At the breakfast buffet there are flies, all over.
The concierge at first seems really nice, but their only goal is to try to send you to another meeting to upgrade your membership, they push you so hard to go to a meeting that we had to put a complain with a manager.
The managers just wrote everything down, and send us a $10 dollar prosecco bottle to the room…. Really? After all that and spending $24k on becoming a member? You can do better than that.
Worst family vacation ever!

Dear Elis, Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We're pleased to hear that our amenities, food, and rooms left a positive impression during your first visit, and we truly appreciate that you chose to become a member of our resort family. It's disheartening to learn of the challenges you faced during your second stay. We take pride in our resort's services, including the promptness of our check-in process and the functionality and cleanliness of our accommodations. We're sorry to hear about the inconvenience with the room door bracelets and the issues with the shower handle and hot water. The comfort and safety of our guests are paramount; we have routine maintenance checks and will review these to prevent such occurrences. Regarding the towels and the unfortunate incident at the pool, we aim to provide ample amenities and a secure environment for all guests. We're addressing these concerns with our housekeeping and security teams to ensure they are not reflective of the high standards we set for ourselves. It's also concerning to hear about your dining experience. Our reservation system is designed to ensure every guest enjoys their meal in a timely and comfortable setting, and we regret any misunderstanding that occurred. We want to assure you that our concierge team's intention is to enhance your stay, not to inconvenience you, and we will reinforce the importance of respectful and considerate communication. Our management team values all guest feedback, and while we cannot undo your recent experience, we're dedicated to making continuous improvements. We hope you will consider staying with us again in the future. Best regards, Tu equipo Falcon's

I decided to rewrite after trip complete. Lots of little issues, supervisor Soribel was excellent in trying to make it good but there is only so much one person can do. First all but buffet require reservation which requires you walk to lobby area and line up to talk to person at bar, sitting by phone, why not by phone or app, it's 2024. Most bars were excellent but food was resoundingly unimpressive. Not a place for foodies. Room wad too warm to sleep, may not be an issue for all. Rooms are locked at 69 degrees, no fans available upon asking. Eventually they had maintenance reduce temp in room to 65 so slept well but it kept resetting back to 69. After literally begging another maintenance guy to reduce it next day got tired of feeling like I had to beg daily to be able to sleep. On checking in was told we had $90 off spa, was never given the coupon, not told was needed, booked spa for all family. They never said anything about needing to apply the discount at the time. Ar check out they confirmed we were entitled to spa discount bur could not be applied at check out had to have been done at spa. Frankly there were so many annoyances with this experience. Rated it 2 because it did look beautiful. Beach is a 15 min walk, there is a shuttle provided however, my daughter has developed a habit of taking a picture at dawn and dusk on vacation but it's to dark to feel safe walking there before dawn and the shuttle does not start that early so couldn't have that experience. For first time in my life on vacation was dying to get home. Oh and they direct you to QR code for room service menu, which did not have any of the food on it. Housekeeping kept taking away used washcloths and not replacing, if it's used we need more. Urghh

Dear Ronni, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. We're truly delighted to hear that our team member Soribel made notable efforts to enhance your stay; it's always inspiring to know our staff's dedication shines through. Our resort takes pride in offering a harmonious blend of luxury and tropical ambience, and we're glad you found our property beautiful. However, we regret to hear that certain aspects didn't meet your expectations. While our diverse dining options and reservation system aim to provide a sophisticated and carefree experience, we apologize if this process caused any inconvenience. It's also concerning to hear about the temperature control in your room; we strive for all our guests to have a relaxed stay, and we're mindful of maintaining the comfort levels our guests expect. We appreciate your comments on the spa discount and will look into ensuring clearer communication for future guests. Lastly, while our shuttle service is designed to facilitate a seamless journey to the beach, we understand the importance of timing for special moments like capturing the sunrise. Your insights are valuable to us, and we're always seeking ways to improve our services. We hope that you will allow us the opportunity of providing you with an improved stay in future. We came home last Sunday from Falcons. We stayed in a king corner, beyond swim up room 5101. Room was huge and beautiful. We faced the back so it was really private. We initially asked to switch to the inner circle, but then changed our mind after we realized how little privacy the center Circle rooms have.
We did have issues with the cleaning service. Turn down service, which was advertised was only done on the last two days. I asked four times for hand towels and face cloths. I asked the front desk, our concierge, our maid . I really felt like a pest by the fourth time. I don’t know if they have a shortage on the resort or if they don’t exist. Our outside hot tub was not cleaned after we used it so it makes me wonder if they actually cleaned it before we used it. 😬
Food is definitely mediocre even in the specialty restaurants that we had a chance to try. All breakfast items such as pancakes, French toast, waffles, are cold every single day. I would literally put food on my plate, walk it back to my room, microwave it and then walk it back to the restaurant like a moron. 😂
They had a made-to-order pasta station which was run very inefficiently as it took 20 minutes to get your pasta, even if you were second or third in line. They consistently only had one burner working. Some people waited 45 minutes to get a plate of pasta, which is ridiculous.
Our concierge , Jorge, was a bit of a disappointment. We actually did not end up tipping him at the end of our trip even though we tipped at the bar and restaurants every day. He did not do anything special, in fact, he didn’t even book all the restaurants for us. We had to wait each day until at least 4 PM to find out where we are eating that evening, which is unacceptable and inconvenient for planning our day. On Friday he didn’t tell us until 6 PM that he was not able to secure dinner reservations for that evening. I sent an email to management and still have not received a response. I asked him to book all of our restaurants at once on Monday, so that I know where we are eating for the rest of the week. This was not done. We never got to eat at the Teppanyaki restaurant on site even though we asked all week.
When we tried to book our own restaurants, we were told we needed our concierge to do it. So, if anything, I feel like he held us back.
Like I said before, our room was incredible, we had amazing weather the whole week, the beach was beautiful so all in all, we had a good week.

This resort exceeded our expectations because of the quality property, consistent service and lovely amenities. The staff were particularly outstanding - friendly, kind and helpful.
We rented a Beyond swim up suite and it was exactly as the photos showed online. It was clean, extremely well-maintained and very chic in design. The property was very easy to navigate with most if the restaurants in the main building. We went to most restaurants and found Mangu (near the main pool) and the Steak restaurant to be the best in quality and variety of food. Reservations are needed for all evening meals expect for the buffet, Origins. The buffet had great variety and they changed up the offerings frequently. Staff were quick to recognize returning customers which was nice.
The pool and beach chairs and lounge beds were great. There is a reserved area for Beyond and Circle guests and the beach was very spacious and clean. Very swimmable and lifeguards on duty both on beach and at main pool. We didn’t go to the small waterpark on site and we also didn’t go to the Katmandu although it was included in our stay. There are signs posted warning guests that you can’t “reserve” chairs and bed in any location and that staff may remive towels and personal items if left linger than 30 minutes. Despite this, some (rude) guests did choose to block prime location beach loungers and pool beds for many hours without use. Occasionally we did see staff clear them off for others to use.
Bar drinks as well as those served poolside and on the beach were consistent. Nice to see reusable plastic glassware and paper straws in use along with paper cups. Fresh and dried fruit garnishes added a lovely touch.
We were so grateful for the attentive and caring support and service offered by our concierge team, Jorge and Andy. They would often meet us prior to our dinner reservations and ensured we were seated and had everything we needed. They were readily available on WhatsApp and made sure any needs were met and questions answered. They made it a great stay!
Highly recommend this resort and the Beyond experience.

It's heartwarming to hear that our staff's friendly and helpful nature contributed to your fantastic stay, enhancing the luxurious and elegant atmosphere we strive for. Your appreciation for the sophisticated design and maintenance of our Beyond swim-up suite truly reflects our commitment to providing a harmonious and inviting environment. We're thrilled that our variety of culinary offerings, especially at Mangu and our Steakhouse, met your sophisticated palate, ensuring a relaxed and delightful dining experience. Your mention of the clean, spacious beach area and the attentive service from our concierge team, Jorge and Andy, is inspiring to us all; it's these mindful touches that make a stay at our tropical oasis truly carefree. While it's unfortunate that some guests did not adhere to the policy regarding lounge chairs, we're glad to note that our team's respectful management of the situation allowed for a more equitable enjoyment of our facilities. Rest assured, we are always relatable and continually seek to enhance our guests' experiences while fostering appreciation for our environment. We look forward to welcoming you and your family back for another memorable vacation in the future. After a wonderful experience at Melia's Cancun location (upgraded to Reserve) figuring this would be the same experience. It was not the same. Cons - with the exception of our amazing concierge, Omar P., the staff at the habitat (kids center) and friendly pool resort staff led by Saturino; overall the customer service was lacking everywhere else. For example, we went to the Lemon Fish restaurant twice and on both occasions we had to flag down a waitress to take our order. If you want VIP service at this place then you need to be a melia circle guest. Reserve is underwhelming as it only gets you an upgraded room with a swim up pool and a private concierge. There is an upcharge for grilled calamari at the steakhouse. As for alcoholic drinks, the rooms only had canned beers. We had to request the snack bar be filled up every day as this wasn't automatic. Would be nice if they had boxed wines. The beach was covered in seaweed and was a 10 minute golf cart ride from that resort. There are a lot of vendors that come up to you since that's how they make their living. The melia circle guests have the nicest section of the beach. Pros: the super friendly kids water park and the kids center, habitat. It's a clean and super modern preschool staffed with caring staff. Our concierge, Omar P. was the best. He looked out for us especially since our last night the restaurant where we had reservations had suddenly closed. He quickly set up a reservation to another restaurant next door. He literally met up in the lobby and escorted us there to the neighborung resort. The resort had fun kid friendly activities in the evening. Loved the carnival night with the rodeo shark, cotton candy, soccer/basketball games and face painting.

Dear Carolyn T, Thank you very much for choosing us as your vacation destination for your visit to Punta Cana, because of a previous awesome experience at Paradisus Cancun. In terms of our staff, we are pleased to note your satisfaction since is their commitment and deep-rooted passion that makes up part of an unbeatable vacation experience. Without a doubt, Omar, Saturnino, and our team at Habitat go above and beyond expectations with their attention to detail to ensure that our guests receive the best possible service. Nevertheless, we are sorry to note that you did not perceive our optimal hospitality from the rest of the team. Concerning the Reserve experience, allow us to mention that this one offers personalized concierge service, exclusive restaurant Mangú for breakfast and dinner, a personalized minibar, and much more. We lament that this experience did not meet your expectations. On the other hand, we regret your negative perception regarding our maintenance and cleanliness of the beach. It is worth mentioning that we have a support staff around the beach and specific machinery for selective seaweed removal as well, to ensure optimum sanitary conditions that guarantee the enjoyment of our customers while preserving the ecological role they play. It is also necessary to indicate that the Caribbean area has suffered an atypical growth rate in the amount of seaweed present on our beaches during this time of the year. We are pleased to see that you had a fantastic time in our Habitat where the main protagonists are the children, in a modern and spacious space where the only concern is to have fun. We are pleased to note that you have enjoyed endless fun for the little ones at Blast Water Park pools, waterfalls, and slides. Your rating makes us feel fulfilled as it confirms that we have achieved our goal of achieving your highest satisfaction. It would be a pleasure for us to welcome you back soon to our resort, to offer you the memorable experience you deserve. Kind regards, Guest Service Center Management

Kids club starts at age 1. Generally I would say up to 12 age 10 and up probably don't need to hang there and could just participate in the activities.
Dinner reservations are best done with the family concierge. I don't believe you can do them ahead of time.
Transportation is generally included with your package (flight and hotel). If you're booking separately, you may wish to have your agent book transfers as well.
