This hotel is an amazingly authentic colonial hotel. It is one of the most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed in. In the heart of the colonial quarter in Santo Domingo the capitol of Dominican Republic it was a breath of fresh air to relax in luxury for our last two nights or our two holiday.

This is a lovely hotel tacked away on a quit street in Zone Colonial. It seems that it is an old villa very tastefully converted to a hotel full of character. Ramon, the manager, and the staff were brilliant. Breakfast was an experience with several courses prepared to order with fresh ingredients. Definitely would be back if we are at this side of the pond again.

This is a very lovely, well-maintained hotel in walking-distance of all the sights in the Zona colonial. The rooms are nicely decorated and very clean, and the outdoor spaces, including the pool, were beautiful. The breakfast is delicious. Ramon and his team are friendly, attentive and helpful. They gave us many recommendations.

So beautiful. A hidden paradise in the middle of the cozy colonial quarter. But the best of all was Ramon, the director, who helped us more than enough during our stay. Our baggage didn’t arrive and he spent a lot of time tracing it. The breakfast was excellent!

We were totally satisfied with our stay at this hotel for many different reasons: 1) it's a little size hotel (~12 rooms) so you have close relationship with the people working there 2) the manager (Ramon) is soooooo great... VERY helpful (before and during the stay). He really wants to help you in all possible ways (even when he has absolutely no interest in the service he describes (eg: how to reach the hotel by bus...)). He is dominican and knows his country/city by heart. He really make our stay/holidays a great moment ! 3) the breakfast is completely amazing ! You'll be completely filled up for hours. A great moment/discovery 4) the room was great (AC, safe,...) little balcony So thank you Ramon and all the workers of the hotel to make our stay with you so great... we arrived as guests by left as friends... you're doing a really great job !

We stayed three nights at Villa Colonial on our first visit to Santo Domingo, and what a great find this charming little hotel was. The beautifully tiled entrance leads to an attractive courtyard with a small swimming pool, just big enough to cool off. Our room, with its terrace paved with more of those gorgeous tiles was a good size and comfortable. Breakfasts were excellent, with good coffee and fruit. For 50 years I had been convinced that I didn’t like avocado until I had the Mexican omelette with avocado at Villa Colonial. It was a revelation and I’m now an avocado convert. The manager, Ramon, really sets the tone for the place. Friendly, professional, speaking excellent English, he was ready to help with anything including arrangements for our bus to Las Terrenas. Highly recommended.

Excellent small hotel with great service. The manager Ramon, has a very customer-centric approach and is extremely friendly and helpful. The rest of the staff will certainly flourish under his guidance, but you could tell that they are still being onboarded. The location was superb. Everything in the Colonial Zone is within walking distance. The small pool is well kept and the breakfast is fresh and tasty! There was a lot of yelling, as the staff communicated across the two buildings standing on the balconies. While not a big issue for me, I can see this being disturbing for those that want peace and quiet during their stay. WiFi was not stable in my room and I had a lot of connectivity issues. This was never a problem closer to the restaurant or lobby.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Villa Colonial because we had read the prior excellent reviews about it and they were all A+++. Yes, indeed, every guest was completely right, this place is totally outstanding. We had already contacted Ramon, the manager, by email before we arrived; he was extremely professional, and efficient answering immediately all the questions we had in reference to our reservation. When we got to the hotel, in fact, there was absolutely no deception: it was the best choice we could have possibly ever made. The location, cleanliness, colonial structure / enhancements , room comfort, breakfast, etc. were just perfect. Last but not least, what makes Villa Colonial so unique is its awesome Staff: Ramon, Oliver, Ongels, Benoit, Lucy, Judy, Carmen and Ines, all of them could not have been more welcoming, friendly, helpful and special, they definitely made us feel just at home!!!! Desde luego que les recomendaremos a todos nuestros amigos este magnifico hotel cuando se hospeden en la Linda Zona Colonial del Gran Santo Domingo. Muchisimas gracias por todo, thank you all very much for everything, nous vous remercions beaucoup pour tout!!!!!! Jorge y Ana San Juan
