This is a very large hotel containing visitors from around the globe. Every evening I counted at least 8 tour buses parked outside. The buffet was amazing and the staff warm, friendly and helpful. The rooms were nicely decorated but getting a bit old. The a/c was digital but the numbers were mostly burned out so it was difficult to...

We just came back from staying at the Melia, Santiago. Pros: Nice rooms with excellent bathrooms. The hotel staff are professional and go above and beyond. The Amenities such as the pool, rooftop bar (with an awesome Happy Hour including Salsa lessons), and the breakfast buffet are top notch. The Melia is also in a great part of the city...

Spent first two nights of a 9-day tour of Cuba at the Melia in Santiago. It is a modern hotel, a bit off the beaten path, but comfortable and clean. Rooms have all the comforts expected of an international tourist hotel: bedside light and air con control panels, nice toiletries, bidet, digitally-locked safes, breakfast buffet with good food options, nice...

The service was great, the rooms clean and comfy, the food was delicious, but the building had issues. The main lobby and rooftop bar leaked badly when it rained. However, the staff moved into action to clear the water quickly. The hotel is centrally located with easy access to city. There are shops and restaurants attached to the hotel and...

Decent quality large hotel located in an excellent position on the edge of town. Opposite on some nights there is live salsa dancing - good fun and very cheap. Hotel room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast very good and a decent happy hour. The only downside encountered was the queuing for lifts.

My stay was nice and everything expected from this chain. I had a comfortable room but the water took forever to get hot. I think having a pianist playing the grand piano in the dining area was a special treat.

A large hotel with comfortable rooms and helpful staff. Good pool and good food. Location is not great, nothing much of interest close by. Wi-fi not free and not on national network, so the standard cards don't work Shower was positively dangerous, switching from stone cold to scalding and back in an instant. Be very careful.

Very nice modern hotel with all the usual facilities, a pleasure after staying in some very basic accommodation in Cuba. Very modern building inside & out, however architecturally a bit garish! “Most rooms have good views, except perhaps on very low floors, and no side seemed to be better than another.”

“I found my room amply supplied with towels, toiletries and a hair dryer. My one complaint is the lack of sufficient elevators as this hotel is very popular, often crowded and riding elevator at peak times(i.e. breakfast and when groups depart and arrive) can be a challenge to your patience. Accordingly a lower floor room might be an advantage but upper floor rooms have great views over the city. ”
