Detailed Reviews
I was in this hotel and I loved it, it was super quiet and the work team was super friendly. I would like to thank Walter the director for his recommendation and Kiara from public relations for all her help. It has been an excellent vacation, thank you.

My first time in Cuba and we stayed at this very nice hotel. The staff were incredible, the rooms were always cleaned to perfection by the hotel staff. What can I say about the front desk help, our fantastic cooks, and the staff at the bar. Everyone were absolutely incredible. I felt so good because I'm learning spanish, and wore my t-shirt that said, estoy aprendiendo espanol y necesito practicar (lol!) and they were so nice to engage with me in Spanish. I recommend this hotel, it's close to the Malecon and not far from the hotel nacional (walking distance). Thank you to everyone at this hotel!

Terrible, experience. Bad food, bad service, even the electricity went out. I don't recommend it at all. The poverty around the hotel is also very sad. There was prostitution, people asking for money, streets without vehicles, and very expensive taxis.

WARNING: DO NOT STAY HERE.
While the staff is wonderful and extremely helpful, and they did their best with what they had, but this was the WORSE hotel I have ever stayed in and I travel all around the world.
I like small hotels because it usually gives personalized, attentive service. There were 4 floors with 7 rooms per floor. We were a group of eight that occupied 6 of the 28 rooms. We were in town for a four-day mission trip. Besides the staff, we were the only people in the entire hotel, which was the first red flag.
1) The information on the travel site says there is an elevator, (see screenshot attached). There is NO elevator in a four-floor hotel. If it had an elevator, it was hidden or broken. We had one handicapped person in our group who used a walker, and I have knee issues and should not do stairs consistently, and my room was on the 3rd floor.
2) There are NO phones in the room, so if we had an emergency, and if you could not walk down the stairs, there was NO way to call anyone for help since our US phones did not work.
3) The room key cards were deactivated several times during our stay, and the staff had no way to replace the key. They had to walk to their sister hotel, about 10 blocks away in 100-degree heat, to get another key card. Which often took 45 minutes to an hour. So we had to sit and wait to get in our room until they came back. This delayed us, making us late for scheduled appointments, dinner reservations, or events.
4) The electronic lock on my door broke on day three, so our key card would not work. Even the master key card did not work. Whenever there is an electronic lock, there is always a physical key. Their physical key broke a while ago, and for some reason, they did not find the need to replace it. So now we had to wait for the maintenance person to come to get us in the room, which took more than an hour since he, too, had to come from the other property. He could not fix it, so I had to move to the third room on a four-day trip.
5) There are no irons. While my research says the country uses 110 watts, this hotel uses 220 watts. We came on a mission trip, so our checked bags had donations, and our personal stuff was packed tightly into our carry-on bag. The housekeeper offered to bring her personal iron from home, but we still could not use it because the wattage was different. So, most of the group had to wear wrinkled clothes the entire trip. The manager felt bad and offered to iron my cloths.
6) One of our rooms on the first floor had a window that would not close. She felt unsafe as this room was near a ledge that could have been accessed from the outside. So, she moved rooms, but the key card was deactivated the next day. Again, she had to wait for a replacement key card.
7) The water went completely out 3 times on a 4-day trip. Returning from a long, hot, sticky day, we could not take a shower. When we had water, it only trickled out. They said there was air in the line and to just let it run. It would take 10-15 minutes of running the water for it to come out in a reasonable stream that you could shower in.
8) Each room had a safe, but none were operating. When we asked for assistance, we were told they had not worked in a while.
9) The breakfast in the restaurant was limited and the same every day. Mango, papaya, and watermelon, one fried egg, cold-cut meat, cheese, and bread.
10) The information they posted on travel sites, say on-site parking and "outdoor pool access", see screenshot. There is NO on-site parking, and there is NO pool. It should have listed that the pool is at the sister hotel several blocks away, and it closes at 5pm.
The staff was amazing, and the building was clean, so we felt bad for complaining. We know that no hotel is perfect, and while we knew it was not a 5-star or even a 4-star hotel, it was not that cheap, so it's not unreasonable to expect a certain level of building maintenance. Unfortunately, I expressed my frustration and disappointment to the acting manager. On check-out, I apologized as I realized it was not her fault or the fault of the staff. It's the parent sole company's responsibility to keep the building in good condition.
The staff did their best with what they had to work with, but some things listed were blatantly inaccurate and misleading, like an elevator.

The hotel is located in the Vedado area, we begin to say that the structure would seem new but instead it is quite dated.
The entrance has a cold air shot to the max.
The rooms are equipped with television, mini towels, unusable safe and beds with brick-hard mattresses.
The bathroom has a shower that makes the whole room flood and inside there is no hairdryer.
Dinner is really bad, the dinner room would look like a warehouse room, no windows. At lunch they gave us raw vegetables, a piece of fish and as dessert a jam with a piece of cheese inside.
In the breakfast that is made in the same lobby of the hotel there is pasta, mango and bread........
