We quite enjoyed our 3 night stay overall but as you could imagine by my title it was tainted. Havana is fabulous and the ROC despite being a bit far from where we really wanted to be was pleasant enough. When we checked out I made a huge mistake and left our MacAir in the safe. It was a tight...

Hi. We are a 45 and 52 year old adventurous Australian couple who have traveled. Booked by our travel agent for the first and last night of a bus tour of the island March 2017. This hotel like most is government run and well past it's prime. No doubt magnificent 100 years ago. Like most things in Cuba. Time stopped...

We stayed in the hotel for a second time, for one week in the beginning of March 2017. Booked via a travel agency, one week in Havana and one week in Varadero. Havana was absolutely the best part of our holiday! Presidente is a charming old style hotel, with a beautiful lobby and a nice veranda. Enjoyed sitting there and...

Step out on the patio and listen to music. Superb. Step inside and admire the classicness of the past. Rooms are nice, beds better than most in Cuba. Showers excellent. Breakfast the best we had. Perfect. No. Not as vibrant an area as old Havana, but good for relaxing and a day or two decompressing.

The front desk service at this hotel was the worst I have ever experienced. They were not helpful and sometimes even lied to me. The breakfast is almost inedible and not worth the price they charge for the buffet. Even the coffee was not drinkable. I would not stay here if you can avoid it.

The check in starts only at 4 p.m., but some of us had to wait for the rooms until 6 p.m. And some other people were coming later, after us, and getting rooms before us. Interesting. The good thing though was the upgrade to a better room (suite on the top floore. Thank you. WIFI only at lobby area. You...

I stayed at this hotel from 2/25/17 to 2/28/17 and got a 7th floor room that faced the side street overlooking a school. Every morning the kids would line up and sing a song while facing a stage with a huge Cuban flag. The room that I had was quite large and all the lights, water and facilities worked fine....

To go to Havana is to go back many years and also have in mind that maintenance does not occur in the same way as you are used to. It is from this perspective I review this hotel. And then it's good! We were around at other major hotels and this was by far the most cozy with there large...

I didn't stay here, but spent a lot of time here, eating, drinking beer on the porch and trying to use the internet. An older hotel that has probably seen better days. Reminds me of a Dowager who has send better days financially, in other words, a little shabby! The internet was very, very slow!

We didn't stay at this hotel. We stayed at Casavana Cuba just down the road. We frequented this place regularly while staying in Havana as it sells the wifi cards, has reasonably fast wifi and exchanges money. We found it was a good place to come and chill for an hour or so (mainly so my teenage boys could remain...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The ROC-Hotels Presidente **** is located just 3 kms from the old historical part of Havana, "La Havana Vieja", a twenty minutes drive from the Jose Marti International Airport. It is only 20 minutes from the East Side beaches and 200 meters from the renowned Amadeo Roldan Theatre. Located in El Vedado, only 200 meters from the famous Pier of Havana, "el Malecon", on the Avenue of the Presidents, and flanked by the Cuban Foreign Office and the "Casa de las Americas", the Hotel Presidente rises gracefully with its 10 floors of history and in its peculiar colours of vermilion. The Roc-Hotels Presidente characterises itself for being housed in a spectacular building from the 1920's, being the first skyscraper in the city of Havana, and for its breathtaking interiors representing the era it was built in, but with all its modern comfort and services that the client seeks. The Hotel was reformed in 2011 following a clear luxury style and keeping all the grandeur of its recent history that included many famous personalities of diplomacy and business companies, as well as the art world. It is for this reason that an exquisite care was taken to preserve every detail during its restoration and decoration. Throughout the interior of the Hotel, displayed are more than 400 classified pieces of art, giving a very unique taste to the guests from the moment of their arrival. They can enjoy the "Lobby Museum", relax by the poolside, or go on interesting excursions to Pinar del Rio, Varadero, Santa Maria del Mar or other famous sites nearby. We offer bed and breakfast (CP board), breakfast and dinner ( Half board). We have WIFI in all rooms and all service areas. ... more   less
