Detailed Reviews
For starters, this is not a 18+ Hotel as its advertised on all their pages, there were children there during our 3 week stay. Not that we had
problem with this, but it is just wrong info.
Its a 2 star Hotel so you get what you pay for. Keeping in mind that Cuba is struggling with the embargo, food and petrol shortages! Its not like other countries where food and other items are widely available. There are 2 stores in walking distance from the hotel and at the time we were there they had a few local soft drinks, coca cola product were in the first 2 weeks not available, some wine, some days beer, rum, some nestle biscuits, pasta and some canned foods... not comparable with shops in the US or Europe).
The girls at the reception all spoke English which is a big plus, also the Hotel is about 2 minutes from the beach, and in the price included are chairs and umbrellas at the beach which is sweet.
Food in the hotel is ok. Its nothing special and it gets boring fast, but you want starve do death. Guanabo is only a short trip away (Taxi about 10CUC) and there are lovely Restaurants there.
There is complimentary Bus Service to Havanna each day (10 am to 5pm) which works pretty well. Also the T3 Busroute passes the Hotel multiple times a day and a trip is 5 CUC into Havanna.
There are some ladies working at tourist desks in the Hotel, but I didnt find them very helpful with booking tours. You really need to ask multiple times for them to offer you their help - they did in the end put unlike other countries where they want to sell tours to make money.
The state of the hotel is in need to renovation. We were in the 6th floor. The elevators were not working for most of our time there, which can be quiet a hazzle for older people.
Hot water was not available ever day.
The toilets by the pool downstairs are a disgrace, they are dirty, stink and there wasnt any toilet paper for the most time.
The staff ist friendly and its not the worst place in the world :)

First time at marazul, fourth at Tropicoco,.
My smallest room ever, the bed was a single, very small, pillows horrible. Fridge in room good. Safe is free, no key needed. Staff is very good. A.C. is very cool, unable to adjust it,I just turned it off/on when sleeping. Between that and the bed, lack of sleep happens. Beachbar is on their own hours, hopefully open at 10 am,,closed at about 12 till atheist 1 is. No Cola most of the week, and the even opened without ice some days.
How are these people trained?.
Food is mediocre, hit or miss. The food stalls across the road are a fair substitute.
A main gripe I have is they set up the beach chairs at 10am, and tell you to get off them at 5pm.
Because of theft,or what ever, this is unacceptable.
They are locked up.
Also there is little policing on non hotel members taking the chairs during the afternoons. I paid $550 cad for this trip, I would be disappointed if I paid too much more

The hotel is old, but the rooms are very clean and the view of the sea makes the experience worth it. The hotel's beach is crowded with people because it is a very popular beach, but the beach service managers ensure that there are always sun loungers and umbrellas for guests, to considerably improve the cleanliness of the sand. The hotel's supply is quite good, exceeding expectations. Very attentive workers.

A lot of things (not good) to say about this hotel but the bottom-line is it should NOT be sold as an all-inclusive package. (Side note: we've been to Cuba before)
The worst highlights are: 1. The food. I did not know the food can be SO BAD. The only edible food was breakfast where you can get an omelet made. They serve no lunch - the scarce dry ham and cheese sandwiches at 4 pm do not count. For dinner we just went out to local cafes a few times. 2. The lack of everything starting from napkins in the dining room to bath towels to beach chairs. Beach chairs are presumably provided from 11 am to 5 pm but really it's however the beach staff feels like, and they don't feel like doing anything for tourists. 3. The staff could not be bothered to learn basic words in English. This is NOT a hotel for foreigners, it's over 90% local/Cuban clientele. It makes absolutely no sense why Air Canada Vacations would sell packages to this hotel.

This is my 4th stay at the hotel. I really like the option of staying by the beach and having a nice bus going to and from Havana every 40 minutes. There is a free bus but you have to stay the whole day. The paid bus is only 5 CUC round trip. I think the food was very good, especially the breakfast. The staff were very nice and helpful. Its amazing how they remember everyone. There is a very relaxing patio to have coffee or drinks. Five resident cats on the patio provide lots of entertainment. The beach is across the road. It is very nice and clean. I drink only beer and I have to say it is the best I ever had. So considering the price, nice staff, great beach, option of going to Havana I give this hotel 5 stars.

I still feel the beautiful Cuba. This hotel is really perfect place to travel HABANA and the beach with white sand and emerald colored wave. You can get the nice airconditioned tour bus everyday from 10 to 5 with 40 min interval just in fronf of Marazul Hotel. Cost is US$5 for refurn. Two days( Monday and Thursday ) are free. Bus takes to go Central Park,Habana in 30 mins. Hotel Room was outdated a bit but bed was excellent. Food was repeatable and boring but enough to survive.LOL. Most value is for Hotel staff, worker, Cunanos in HABANA, many cambios. They all were very kind and friendly. Please do not forget to tip to Cubanos. It could help them more than you think. Do not hesitate to ask me if you like. I will answer it asap if I know the answer.

I stayed at Marazul Hotel in Cuba in October 2023 and it was an extremely disappointing experience. The hotel is old and dilapidated, with rooms that are in desperate need of renovation. The service was terrible; the food was awful, and the person at the reception was rude and indifferent to our concerns. To make matters worse, my room flooded with about 3 inches of water during a downpour.
On a positive note, the bar attendants were friendly and the cleaning staff did a great job. However, these small positives couldn't compensate for the numerous issues we encountered. I would not recommend this hotel.

This hotel is really really disgusting. cockroaches were every where, in bedrooms, on the foods and..... The only positive point about this trip was nice staff at hotel.
Not recommended at all.
We bought our package from air Canada Vacation, and no one even listen to our complain, we sent an email and no one response to them.
flight had 1 hour delay and it was overbooked so we didn't have any seats until the gate got opened.

There is a problem when a hotel offers an all-inclusive day for €57
Several :
There are people who at this moment are going through difficult situations, little food, etc., which entails (they hide food and end up running out of supplies in the restaurant).
Drinking is another problem and for certain people even more so since they take containers to the hotel beach, including cans, and end up with an impressive drunkenness.
Chiringuito on the beach out of stock since they order the drink in large quantities to distribute on the beach without end and everything ends up in the sea without regard
A character threw food over his head after drinking a bottle of rum
Very friendly and attentive staff
Terrible food quality
The rooms are good

Hotel needs serious repairs/ maintenance. No hot water on the 6th floor. Wifi only available in the lobby. Power outages twice during our 1 week stay. Rooms never cleaned. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. Easy access to Havana via local bus, cost of $5.00 US return, but no info at hotel about tours, excursions in Havana or elsewhere.

If you bring it , if they have it will be there, nothing is 100% in Cuba
I didn't see a hairdryer in room. You could ask it at the front, I guess. US $ and CD $ are used commonly, but I tipped Us$1 on each meal and occasionally at the Bar for beer and rum etc. When you get the bus to Havana, you need to pay US$5 for return. I saw some people pay CD$10 because of no change. Do not exchange money on the bus and hotel. When you go to Central Park (Bus stop ), you can see many cambios. Not hard AT ALL . You can get more than 250 peso/ US$1 easily. Please use US$ for money exchange. It is way better than CD$.
