We stayed in the hotel for our 3 night stay in Havana. The hotel is a lovely old building (on the tourist trail!). The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke very good English. The room did not have a window which was a shame but in this location we did not want to spend much time in our room!...

We used this quirky establishment as a stopover between excursions and there's not much else to state other than what has already been stated by other reviews. Not all rooms have a window therefore it will be fairly gloomy in such rooms. It's ideally placed for short walking distances to side-streets of Havana Vieja and access to the landmark constructions...

Located in the heart of old Havana,i stayed here with a Cuban friend in June for 1 week.On arrival the staff were very very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean comfortable and quirky as the rooms are decorated as monastic cells as this is the theme of the hotel, all the staff are dressed as monks also. I knew...

Situated on a beautiful pedestrian street in the heart of old Havana this lovely hotel is within walking distance of all the restraunts and music this city has to offer. The staff are cheerful and helpful guiding you to find nice places to eat and giving info on booking your own site seeing trips and changing money. The hotel is...

We just loved the way this hotel was run. The Monk dress of the staff, the copper monk statues all around and the calm, quite unassuming ambiance of the place. Wonderfully situated in a pedestrian area that gives immediate access to Old Havana. The fact that breakfast was served 100 metres down the road just fitted in with the whole...

We got off to a very bad start with this hotel which does not really help this review. We were supposed to stay here for 3 nights on a recent visit to Havana but on our arrival at the hotel we were told that our room had a leak and they had put us in another hotel which was very...

This is a great spot, right in the middle of the old town, and a beautiful old building with plants hanging from all the internal balconies. A bit dark perhaps, but that's part of its charm. Tourist groups pop in to have a look, but otherwise it's peaceful with a great lobby for relaxing. We had a room on the...

We loved this quirky, unique hotel, despite a few inconveniences. Previously a religious residence, Los Frailes is meticulously themed throughout, from the barmen dressed as friars to the striking veiled copper statue that greets you at the entrance. The interior of this old Spanish building is draped in vines and greenery- it’s quaint, beautiful and atmospheric. If you stay here...

Los Frailes is a lovely hotel just off Plaza Vieja, in the heart of Old Havana, so it's a perfect location for wandering the city and near lots of bars and restaurants. We stayed for 4 nights. The lobby/bar area of the hotel is really fantastic and apparently a tourist attraction in its own right as lots of tour groups...

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel and it was perfectly located to visit Old Havana. We walked everywhere. The rooms are spacious, quiet and clean. We had a room without a window and to start with it felt a bit claustrophobic. We got used to it very quickly and as in August it is so hot in Cuba we...

“If you want a room with a window the you need a junior suite”

“Junior suites are on the front of the building and are the only rooms with windows. Well worth paying the extra, and the view of the old town from the balconies is excellent.”

“If you want a room with windows make sure you request that - I think these are all on the street side which could be noisey but certainly was not when we were there. Also make sure that you check that your room is booked and will be kept for you even if you are a late arrival otherwise they will do what they did to us and put you somewhere where you do not want to be - not a good start. Also we found that the restaurant on a Wednesday evening closed at about 8.00pm.”
