Love this place. It is the perfect combination of beach and relaxation and it's just a stone's throw away from the commercial strip. There's an onsite restaurant that serves decent food. The entire staff was very attentive. The grounds are very well kept and laid...More
We have stayed at Blue Orchids several times in the past few years, and have come to know the hotel & its staff very well. The receptionists are unfailingly kind and helpful at all times, and the grounds crews are always friendly and pleasant. This...More
Really enjoying a week in paradise. Falling into sea or pool when sun gets too hot. Loads of places to eat and drink but a bit quieter than nearby resorts. Beautiful and well kept places to sinbathe and excellent maid service.
There are 3 buildings to choose from. Hotel equipped with fridge, stoves, microwave
rooms come with studio, one bedroom all facing ocean. The views are magnificent from any angle. Also has a pool facing ocean
It is a very relaxing place. Beach is also excellent...More
I definitely think that the best asset for this hotel is the nice secluded beach, there are some sunbeds and the beach is just few steps away from the hotel, there is showers and a small pool outdoors as well. The waves can be pretty...More

When we were there in December there was no effect on the hotel nor the beach. We also spent some time along Rockley beach and even over at Tapas where many of the complaints seem to come from. Saw and smelled nothing. The only hint we had of problems was when we got caught in a heavy rain on a walk to the grocery store on Rendezvous Hill Road. Streets were flooded and I suspect some of that was sewage. Also on a walk to St. Lawrence Gap for dinner one night we saw a couple of bubbling manhole covers and a bit of an odour by the Chicken Barn restaurant which has apparently since closed.
Unless things have changed drastically since that time I wouldn’t be too fussed about it. I’m not trying to downplay the severity of the problem but I think if you’re careful and avoid puddles on the road and such you will be fine. That said we had both had shots for Hepatitis A which gave us some piece of mind. Hope that helps a bit. If you decide to carry on have a wonderful holiday. Blue Orchids is a lovely spot to be.

"near road, so be prepared for road noise, not a big deal as the waves on the other side tend to block it out."
