A charming, old Bermuda home with three guest rooms and modern en-suite bathrooms. Set in a large, lush tropical garden with sunken swimming pool and walking distance to Elbow Beach. Current Vehicle Port available here as well as ferry and buses are within two minutes walk. The extensive gardens provide much of the breakfast provisions and have hosted the occasional wedding. A horticulturist's dream, Sally also makes her award winning jams, preserves and chutneys from the garden harvest.

Detailed Reviews
St. Helier is a beautiful B&B located off of Chapel Rd. It is nestled at the end of the property, surrounded by Sally’s beautiful garden. There is a bus stop around the corner, the ferry is only a short distance away and a cab to Hamilton is only few minutes. We frequently took the scenic Tribe Rd to and from Elbow beach. It is a charming walking path lined with stone walls, and colorful flowers.
Our room was cozy with lots of closet space and drawers for our clothes. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom does include a hair dryer and heated towel rack.
Breakfast is served on the porch around 8:30. We had fruit, yogurt, a variety of cereals, toast and fresh eggs daily. The highlight of breakfast are Sally’s homemade jams.
Scott and Sally were wonderful host and offered many insights on places to see and do. We felt at home and relaxed during our stay. After a long day we would sit and chat with them in the living room before turning in for the night.
My wife and I cannot wait to go back. There is no reason to stay anywhere else on the island.

Caught taxi to / from airport to St. Helier B&B. It took around twenty five minute to there around USD30-35.00 it was relaxable much as nice attractive light blue sea view in front of yours during trip to there. We choose the information for selection then make reservation around two month advance. A quiet big garden place. We are welcome by house owner, Mr. Scott Godet. He is friendly with warm welcome to us and initially brief us some information of Bermuda. We share an elegant afternoon English tea with him in front of his house with gentle winds blowing to us. After a rest, we were escorted to our room on 1st level, which was facing garden view and side window with pool view there with private shower and toilet facilities there. It is really unforgettable. There was a burning stove at the ground floor sitting room area, it was a nice design in this home place.
St. Helier with provide free internet wifi internet connection service and daily breakfast. Mr. Godet cooked nice breakfast with selection tea & coffee for us daily; he also asked for our choices in advance to tailor make our breakfast. There were lot of traditional English dining materials in his house. Mr. Godet will place those for serving our breakfast, it seemed we were dining at a luxury five stars restaurant daily. We tasted their home-made freshly fruit jam for toasting during breakfast. Normally, breakfast will be severed between 8:00 - 8:30am as Bermuda shops and sightseeing scenes will be closed early between 16:30 / 17:00hrs in low season period in MARCH and Head of APRIL so we needed to go out for trip as early as we can. A nice sheepdog and two cats stayed with us even though I scared but they were peaceful to me during stay. Mr Godet will get some suggestion / reminder for our on-day tour / trip to let us to have a comfort way to there.
Public bus stations are just next to entrance at main road for Route 7 & 8 with pink / blue color poles to identify there, in two minute walking distance. Or else, ferry terminal just behind St Helier, when caught ferry trip from Hamilton to there, we walked back to house between seven and ten minutes. It is the other way back to house.
On the next side of house, we walked from a path to next side between fifteen minute to Elbow Beach area for swim and snorkel there, the beach with nice view, but the wave is higher than Horseshoe bay. We brought those equipment and changed in advance at House. We were snorkeling there and fishes were found swimming between the corals and stones there. There was no exactly changing / shower room for using at beach area unless you are stayed in the hotel with private changing room. We dried off behind some big stones then walked back to House with pretty sun shine there.
We spent four days three nights with him. We went to downtown - Front Street (1st day), Elbow Beach, Town of St. George, Bermuda Aquarium Museum & Zoo, Harrington Sound (2nd day), Royal Naval Dockyard, St. Gibb's Hill Lighthouse, Horseshoe Bay (3rd day) with lot of churches and fort there & Elbow Beach for snorkeling (4th day), Time was pretty fast and we are really enjoyable our stay with him.

If I could give more stars, I would! We needed a place for 7 adults and 2 infants. I wasn’t sure a B&B would accommodate children, but Sally and Scott went over and above to insure we had a wonderful time in Bermuda.
Their estate is everything the pictures and description suggest … and more. While the home was built in 1928 and has the charm of a home from that era, it has all the modern conveniences in all the right places. The bathrooms and kitchen are modernized, clean and fresh, the beds and linens are top quality, and breakfast on the veranda was a perfect way to start our day.
The bedrooms were good size with comfortable beds, en suite bathrooms and plenty of space to unpack for the week. The cottage was new and completely modern, with a full kitchen, living room, bathroom and large bedroom. All bathrooms had heated towel rods, soaps and shampoos, hairdryer, and plenty of towels. The accommodations more than exceeded our expectations, but what really made our stay special was the warm welcome from Sally and Scott Godet, and their obvious desire for us to love Bermuda as much as they do.
Sally prearranged to have 2 high chairs and pack-n-plays available for our grandchildren. They also had age appropriate toys available. They drove us to the supermarket our first day to save us the walk/or taxi ride. While at the store, they inquired about our breakfast preferences and tailored their selections for our benefit.
Breakfast on the Veranda each morning consisted of fresh fruit, yogurt, a selection of cereals, fresh eggs from their chicken coop, fresh tomatoes from the garden and an assortment of toast or croissants. Sally is known throughout the island for her homemade jams and jellies and always had an assortment available for our use.
While the cottage is typically on its own with its own kitchen, Sally didn’t mention this when we all showed up for breakfast and Sally and Scott served the 9 of us (including the babies) each morning, with fresh coffee available as we all slowly gathered on the veranda. The children enjoyed visiting the chickens, picking fresh bananas from the trees, and enjoying the various gardens.
The pool was between the cottage and house, steps from the veranda, but surrounded by gardens and gated to provide safety, and privacy. Everyone enjoyed swimming in the pool and lounging on the pool deck. Scott takes great care of the pool and grounds, and both Sally and Scott joined us for walks around the grounds pointing out the various fruits and flowers and sharing interesting facts about Bermuda. They were also a great resource for directions to local restaurants, church, beaches, and transportation services. It was an easy walk to the ferry in one direction and a nice walk down Tribe Road to Elbow Beach in the other direction.
We came to Bermuda to attend a wedding. The day of the wedding Scott arranged for a driver to take all of us to the venue. Of course, baby nap schedules took priority and not all of us could go at the same time. Scott personally provided transportation for the ‘nappers’, to insure all were able to enjoy the wedding festivities as baby sleep schedules would allow.
We chose not to rent a car or scooter even though there was an outlet available to charge an electric car. We found the local transportation very convenient with many things within walking distance, a bus stops just at the end of their property, a short walk to the ferry, and taxis readily available.
We found all of Bermuda to be friendly and inviting, with white roofs, colorful houses, beautiful beaches and landscaping throughout. At the center of it all, in Paget Parish, is the beautiful St Helier B&B and a charming couple who made our visit to Bermuda perfect in every way. Thank You Scott and Sally for sharing your beautiful property and big hearts!

We stayed in the Peony room during the summer.
The good: The room was quite large and clean, with the exception of a rug that emitted a moldy smell. Sally was kind enough to offer us a ride the first day that we arrived. The location is convenient; mere steps from the bus stop that can get you all around the island and walking distance to a nearby beach. Breakfast was provided, although consume at your own risk (see below).
The bad: The door to the room has no lock, which doesn't make it very safe. Keep in mind that there are also several other guest rooms. Sally and Scott have pets (i.e. cats and dogs) which was NOT disclosed in the room/house description. I find it very neglectful to not disclose this important piece of information. Although pets can be lovely, people could be allergic or just prefer not to stay in an accommodation with pets. I also question the hygienics as the cats were allowed to freely roam all over the kitchen counters, undoubtedly shedding their fur over the daily prepared breakfast. Upon realizing that we were not having her breakfast or spending much time at the house (we are adventurers and prefer to explore outside as opposed to relax at a hotel whenever we travel), Sally seemed to take personal offense and her friendliness and attitude quickly changed. I acknowledge I am guessing here, but it was as if Sally expected all her guests to spend time and chat with her on the front porch. Our brief interactions with her was curt and she even tried to short-change me when I settled my payment with a large bill and she said she didn't have change and that it was just a few dollars anyway. Although it was indeed just a few dollars, it is very unprofessional to short-change anyone is a business transaction (even if it was a penny!). Luckily, this interaction happened right before we left, so we didn't have to deal with her further.
TL;DR: Affordable accommodation that is conveniently located. Will enjoy more if you like pets and chatting it up with an elderly lady.

Someone needs to tell these two that they are in the hospitality industry. I felt like an uninvited guest in their home and my family walked on egg shells all week. Our stay was a little painful at times but we muddled through. I don't want to write about the details and remind myself of that part of the trip, instead I would rather reflect on the good parts of it and there were many. Sadly I would not recommend this place because it did not live up to our expectations. I would of liked to of given this place an "Average" rating but nothing about it was average. I've just never been so uncomfortable in a lodging environment...ever.

Staying at St. Helier, you really feel the charm of this unique island. I'm a longtime visitor to Bermuda and decided to try St. Helier after a recommendation. It's located on Church and Middle Roads, the latter of which is fairly busy and provides a bus line, which is convenient. It's set back enough that while you might be conscious that the road is there, it's not really obtrusive.
I was in the Parrot Room, which is the smallest, and it was sufficient; however, I might choose a bigger one to have a bit more space to spread out in if I were to do it again. It was very cheerful and had a nicely finished en-suite bathroom. The bed was comfortable.
Breakfast was not an extravaganza but there is fresh-cut fruit, toast with homemade jams, yogurt, cereals, and often eggs from chickens on the property, which was terrific as I really prefer some protein at breakfast. I found other guests to be friendly and pleasant to meet at breakfast.
Owners Scott and Sally Godet are excellent hosts, and it's charming to be in a genuine Bermuda home and get to know a local couple. Scott's family has a long history on the island and Sally can share her gardening knowledge. In addition to the chickens in the yard, they have two cats and a small dog, who were cute.
I give it five stars for its category. While it doesn't have a water view, the water is never far, with a nice restaurant overlooking Hamilton Harbour a block in one direction and Elbow Beach, which is beautiful and excellent for swimming, about a 15-minute walk in the other direction. I don't care for pools but theirs is pretty and secluded.
Bermuda is a wonderful island, incredibly charming, with spectacular beaches and much more. There are things to do on a rainy day, with a visit to bustling Hamilton or the old town of St. George. There are trails, caves, pretty bays, and preserves. This is my 19th trip and I still was able to do new things. Make sure you get out and explore, preferably with a vehicle of your own, if you're comfortable doing it. However, it's far more pricey than other destinations, so if you want a quality alternative that's affordable, St. Helier is a good choice. It far exceeds the shallow mass-market experience of a cruise.

The house and grounds are beautiful but this is not a B&B. Breakfast is barely continental fare and heaven forbid you ask for anything. Don't ask for towels, don't ask for anything at breakfast, don't ask for sunscreen. Sally doesn't do service and doesn't enjoy sharing her home (why run a B&B when you clearly hate it!??!). You are made to feel like a intruder in her house instead of a paying customer.
There is NO maid or room service. We stayed several nights and our bed was never made nor was the room tidied. The towels were only replaced once.
For the price you should stay in hotel or another B&B where guests are actually desired.

Response from Sally G, Owner at St Helier Bed & Breakfast
Responded 4 Oct 2015
I appreciate you taking the time and trouble to write a review to Trip Advisor about your stay at St. Helier Bed and Breakfast, in September, and I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us. Normally, I do not provide sunscreen for guests, but provided plasters for the blisters on your feet. We provide beach towels for guests and in a 4 night stay my Thursday cleaner would have changed the towels, emptied wastebaskets, vacuumed and tidied the room for you. Breakfast comprises, fresh fruit salad, a variety of cereals, yogurts, orange juice, teas/coffee, fresh eggs and toast. On occasions pastries and muffins, a continental breakfast as advertised. I apologise for not having fresh spinach, arugula or other green vegetable to serve with your breakfast eggs. Regards Sally G

We've never been to Bermuda before and lucked in to this B&B. Scott and Sally were excellent hosts, always making sure that we had everything we needed, including information on how to get around the island and tips on fun things to do. The location was great - a short walk to the ferry stop and a few minutes on the water put us right in Hamilton. We had no problem navigating the island with public transportation and the occasional taxi.
Breakfast each morning was wonderful, with a nice selection of cereals, yogurt, toast with homemade jam, and eggs depending on how generous the chickens were feeling. Everything was very clean and well-maintained. We are already looking forward to going back at some point and will definitely recommend St. Helier to all our friends and family.

We enjoyed our 12-night stay at the St Helier B&B.
The owners are very kind and helpful; we felt very welcomed and quickly at home.
The rooms are clean and comfortable with a private bathroom and the house has a cozy decorating with its antique furniture.
The house is surrounded by a beautiful garden with lots of fruit trees. The delicious homemade jams served daily at breakfast are mostly made with the fruits from the garden. You will also have the chance to eat grow-at-home fresh fruits such as bananas, grapefruits… depending on the season as well as fresh eggs from the B&B’s hen house.
Also, if you like cats and dogs, you will enjoy their good company; they are part of the family.
This B&B is very well located, in the center of the island. Also, buses and ferry are at walking distance, and the railway trail is nearby. Going to Elbow beach is easy too (15-min walk) via a quiet path.
We enjoyed every aspect of our stay in this B&B. We would return to this place with our eyes closed.

We had a lovely holiday in Bermuda, and stayed two weeks at this bed and breakfast venue. The period home is in superb condition and comfortable.
The Garden Room we stayed in was nice, with plenty of storage space. There was no lock on the outside of the bedroom door which one would normally expect in any establishment. The four poster bed was extremely comfortable, with a memory foam mattress on it. The curtains had black out linings. The room only had one seat in it, so one of us had to sit on the bed to watch the television or read. The television had hardly any volume to it, There was a very low chest with a television on, that we used for our laptop. The seat was very low and needed to be padded up with pillows. The en-suite bathroom was very modern and in superb condition. Good quality shampoo and shower gel and towels were provided. The cleaners took our toilet rolls and we had to ask for another. The room was very private, and no maids or owners came in. I could lock the door from the inside, and thankfully nothing was stolen from our room when it was left unlocked. They often left their front door open or unlocked as well.
There is a good area outside the home for guests, under cover with garden seats and sofa, for guests to sit in. Also a table and chairs for breakfast. One day we were grateful for this, we found on returning one afternoon, we were locked out for several hours. Sally and Scott has forgotten to give us a key on arrival! Guests staying in their cottage gave us a cold drink whilst we were waiting. Scott gave me some Rum to go with the coke when he returned and learnt we had been locked out.
I loved their cats, they were good company when we were there. Their garden is large and full of lovely shrubs and flowers.
The area by the pool is ideal lovely to sit in. There are some comfortable chairs there. Unfortunately the access to this area are some stairs which have cracked wood on them, this is not very safe. Also there is a drain cover that is missing on round the side of the pool, and this is very dangerous. The pool looked nice but had leaves at the bottom of it, and the top had some things floating on it. It had not been cleaned and we would have liked to swim in it but did not wish to get a virus, swimming in this pool.
Breakfasts were adequate, but limited to fresh eggs from their hens which could either be fried or scrambled. I asked Sally for poached eggs but she said she could not do these. There was cereal, one day this ran out and we had to eat a cereal not of our choosing. 2 slices of toast cut in half in a toast rack between us, and occasionally one warmed croissant and pain au chocolat each. No yogurt though, as advertised.. They also provide tea or coffee, Sally's home made jams were the only spreads on offer, We both enjoyed the company of two American guests who joined breakfast for the second week we stayed there. On the last day we did not get any eggs for breakfast, and the table was laid up for this.
Scott, is a very helpful and courteous host. We appreciated him taking us to get Ferry and Bus passes, and to the Supermarket on the first day. I had a laptop stolen on my outward journey to Bermuda,he also took me to a local shop where I bought a replacement. Throughout the holiday Scott was consistently helpful and, and always courteous.
Sally seems to disagree with most things that you say, but tries to be charming to cover this up. Sally has an attitude problem. I did not feel welcome in her kitchen, I bought food for us to eat on holiday and was preparing lunches and snacks and cups of tea and coffee.. The cooking utensils provided were not adequate, but on request she provided a Pyrex bowl that was useful. She told me that most people eat out, She was surprised that I, a man, was doing the cooking, I do this at home as well! I explained that we are having six holidays this year, and we saw she had a kitchenette, as advertised in the Air BnB advert. She suggested I used the barbeque, and also that I went to one of the supermarkets to buy their cooked food, not just once but several times She could have commented how well I had coped producing dishes with just a microwave. I did buy a few pre- prepared meals but these are quite expensive, as most food is in Bermuda. It is an Island, and has to import everything. . I feel Sally forgets that people pay a lot to stay in her home. I feel that part of her problem is that the kitchenette really is only part of a utility area off the main kitchen. Sally has washing machines in the utility area. Guests have to pass through her office and kitchen to the kitchenette/utility area. During the last week she brought in another fridge for a family who wanted to make their own breakfast. I helped Scott to move this into place. Sally implied that she didn't like people doing this. This atmosphere in the kitchenette is not healthy
In conclusion, in spite of my reservations we had a good holiday. Bermuda is a lovely Island. The locals are so friendly, with one exception at times it seems.

Response from Sally G, Owner at St Helier Bed & Breakfast

I do not understand why Keith chose not to let us know he had problems with keys, toilet paper, lack of a lock on the bedroom door, and perceived problems with the pool why let the rest of the world know first, and not tell us at some time during their 2 week stay. We are a bed and breakfast establishment, i.e. we provide a bedroom, bathroom and breakfast. A small kitchenette is available for guests to make light meals. We have lots of space downstairs for guests, and I offered the dining room for Keith to use his laptop, and the covered verandah with easy chairs and a large table with 6 chairs for meals. I take exception to the comment that "thankfully nothing was stolen from our room", who are they suggesting would do the stealing? The outside doors are often open and unlocked, for circulation of air to prevent mould in our very humid climate. The doors are never left unlocked if we are not at home, hence the reason Keith and Linda were unfortunately not able to enter the house one Friday afternoon. Our 2 sets of cleaners and myself did enter their room, to change towels and bed linen, empty waste baskets, and check on soaps, hair shampoo and toilet paper. The weather was not too good, cool and wet while Keith & Linda were here, and the pool which is built in an old quarry has a lot of vegetation around it. Considering the couple sat in chairs around the pool fully clothed, I don't think swimming was on their minds. The comment that the pool was dirty, and they did not want to get a virus from the water is unfounded. Scott works hard on keeping the pool clean, and he tests the water quality on a twice weekly basis, and adds chemicals as required. Another guest was quite happy to swim in the pool and was complimentary about he water clarity and appearance of the pool. We take note of Keith's comments about the pool steps and the lack of a lid on one of the drains, (which is about 6" square). Breakfast each day consisted of fresh fruit salad, prepared by me daily, 2/3 types of cereal, eggs most mornings, as much toast as they could eat, and on days when I did not do eggs, I provided croissants instead, at least 2 large croissants each (and on one occasion 3) and also toast, plus tea or coffee. I know what I served this couple each day. Keith is correct, food is expensive in Bermuda, which is the reason I tried to help them find cheaper ways of eating out, i.e. fresh prepared food from the supermarkets which is sold by weight, or using the barbeque on the back patio, but he took exception to my suggestions, which were kindly meant. Their booking company gave them a 15% discount on my already discounted winter price, so it was a cheap deal, and would have been more expensive later in the year. His last paragraph is unpleasant and I do not appreciate such personal comments. Scott and I work hard to keep our home in top shape for our guests, and also work hard to give guests a good time. Sometimes unfortunately I get it wrong, BUT it takes two to tango, and on this occasion neither of us got the steps right! Sally G
