A friend and I decided to take a quick trip during Covid. We were obviously nervous of Covid and researched the safest countries to visit. Bermuda was at the top of our list with their Covid safety protocols. We liked that they tested prior to arrival and tested while in the country. We felt super safe while in Bermuda and had a wonderful vacation.

We chose Newstead as our resort. The pictures and reviews were amazing. When we arrived all of the staff wore masks and there was hand sanitizer throughout the resort. The property was extremely clean and well kept. The views were amazing and the staff was wonderful. I would definitely love to return.

We were concerned because of a few negative reviews, but we needn't have worried. Our huge room was fantastic, with great air con and a comfortable bed. Also a mini kitchen with oven hob coffee machine fridge and dishwasher. A big bathroom and everything was cleaned daily by great cleaning staff. I suggest you shop for a few basics for the room, as food and drink is expensive everywhere on the island. Our check in and check out was seamless and I cant praise the reception staff enough. Particularly Letitia, who went above and beyond to help us. The porter/driver staff were excellent as well, with a car available to take us to the golf club and Four Ways Inn, which I would also suggest you eat at (Sunday brunch was great). The infinity pool is wonderful as well and the pool beds are comfortable. The pool was never crowded although we were told the hotel was full. The service at the pool bar could be better, particularly serving food in takeout trays. Yuk. What's wrong with plastic plates? The ferry service to Hamilton is a godsend. Less than 5 minutes to cross the bay. And the boat docks right next to the island ferry port where for under $5 you can travel to the Naval Dockyard and beyond. If you want to see the island I suggest a day or 2 day boat ticket. $18 pp per day which includes all island buses. Yes there are better hotels on the island, but not for the price. One final negative for the hotel management. Please update and refurb the hotel. Its getting a bit sad in places.

My friends and I love this hotel for a staycation (we live/work in Bermuda). There are many hotels, but this is a great location for town, has great facilities (spa/pool!!!!) and the restaurant is perfect if a tad pricey.

I say pricey because in Bermuda, although an average sit down tablecloth, 3 course meal service, you would expect 23-$35 for your main, but at Aurora they are $28-$42.
The service and execution in infallible. Presention and setting are supreme. Modern, clean and not austere, but light and beautiful.

Rooms are MODERN with everything you'd need. This place still lightens my heart. Balconies are a JOY too. Who doesn't want a infinity pool where you can watch the boats leave the capital harbour?!!
Oh, and they provide a ferry in the summer from the hotel straight into town.

Had a one bedroom suite, with kitchenette facilities, large living space, great balcony with views across to Hamilton and extra large comfy bed. Since eating out hugely expensive, eating in, on alternative nights worked a treat.Take some duty free alcohol with you as very expensive in hotel. $15 for a beer, $6 for a can of coke and $20 for a gin and tonic. Gail who cleaned the room was a special lady.

Location is great and the only drawback is that taxis do not like taking fares as it is a short trip to Hamilton, Elbow Beach etc, even though the fare is $20. We waited over an hour for a taxi to come and collect us after dinner at Lido at Elbow Beach. In the end the manager of Lido had to take us back.

For this reason, you need a fantastic service of the in house shuttle and taxi booking by the front desk. This was a very frustrating experience. they were brilliant booking restaurants, golf etc before we arrived. Absolutely faultless. However, when we got there they would forget to book the taxi, and tell the shuttle driver to collect us, which meant that the two times we played golf at Belmont Hills, we had to wait an hour for the shuttle and had to make a number of calls. On each occasion the driver admitted that he was at the hotel, but was not informed by the staff that we had called for a pick up. We were not alone with this problem and was the biggest gripe from the other residents I spoke to. It is not difficult to get this service right, but absolutely a necessity to do so. The return journey was always the issue, though we almost missed a prepaid boat trip when the taxi was 30 minutes late.

We had an inclusive breakfast deal and the waitress told us that we could only order some of the items on the breakfast menu. Luckily we found stuff on the limited choice but since they were all priced the same with maybe $5 extra for the Eggs benedict was it really necessary to exclude them. A smile would go a long way as well.

So whilst it is good, it could be much much better, and it would not take much to make it a great experience.

Very nice facility with great view of the water from large balcony. Large and well-appointed room but with several minor but irritating glitches in the room, like dead bulbs, broken light switch on lamp, sink drain inoperable, etc. that should not happen at this price point. Gorgeous infinity pool. On site restaurant serves great breakfast but very formal for other meals.
You are not in Hamilton, but there is a free shuttle ferry that gets you to Hamilton in AM hourly and in late afternoon, hourly, but not in the middle of the day. One real downside is that the ferry does NOT operate on Sat afternoon or at any time on Sunday. This leaves you really isolated, except for expensive taxis. This was a major disappointment.
There is very little around. They do offer a free shuttle van ride to and from the nearby Belmont Hills golf course, where there are two restaurants. One, called Divots, is quite informal, with a good varied menu and the food was very good at a reasonable price. The other one, called BLU is beyond pretentious and overpriced (e.g. your wine bottle cannot remain at or near your table; It spoils the ambiance of the dining room). I saw a woman dare to put her light spring coat over the back of her chair and they descended on her as though she had shot the king, pulling the coat away against her wishes - nuts!!) Not very friendly at all. Food was good but not exceptional enough to outweigh the unpleasant vibe of the place. Definitely pass on BLU.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Newstead during our week in Bermuda. We had a beautiful suite, more like a small apartment really. It included a living room with a dining table in addition to chairs and a large TV. There was a large bathroom that included a jacuzzi as well as a large shower. The bedroom was also very large with a king size bed. We had a balcony with a table and lounge chairs and a perfect view if the harbor and Hamilton. There was a small, very serviceable kitchen, including a refrigerator and two burner stove. We had breakfast every day (eggs, bacon or sausage, potatoes and fruit or pastries), lunch and a couple of dinners from the Aurora restaurant in the hotel, all excellent. Everything was immaculately clean and the staff were very courteous and helpful. There was a courtesy car to the golf course and Blu restaurant, off-site and to the Coco Reef Hotel and beach which provided a one day courtesy card to use their beach, pool and restaurant. The beach is beautiful for walking and the water comfortably warm, though not tropically warm. Speaking of pools, the Newstead pool was lovely and had an excellent pool bar for drinks and lunch. The only thing that we found fell short was the water taxi to Hamilton. The taxi itself was fine, but it was running on a very limited schedule during our visit. The day we left the schedule was somewhat expanded, but really needs to return to once an hour, as I understand it used to be. Unfortunately the public ferry no longer stops at the landing virtually adjacent to the hotel. This was a first rate vacation I can recommend to anyone.

Just returned home from a month long stay at Newstead. It was the perfect choice for us! The one-bedroom suite was roomy and comfortable. Loved the location with views of Hamilton, the boating and harbour activity, and beautiful sunsets. The roomy balcony was used for drinks, meals as well as zoom "office" meetings. Other meeting attendees were jealous. At first I wondered if I wanted more of a kitchen, than a kitchenette especially when staying for a month. Did not need it.
The kitchenette was perfect! Picked up fabulous prepared foods at Miles Market in Hamilton and reheated them in the microwave. Many delicious meals. Took full advantage of the Newstead ferry and Hodson's ferry right next to the hotel to take us into Hamilton. While they did not run the full day, we scheduled trips according to the schedule and took the occasional taxi when a ferry was not available. Easy when arriving in Hamilton to take other ferries, or buses to explore the island. Took advantage of the shuttle for trips to the golf course, Blu and Divots restaurants. Enjoyed the food at all of the restaurants. Blu has an amazing view. Aurora had a great view of Hamilton, delicious food, and what we considered the best service on the island. All staff were very helpful. Impossible to name all of them but Cherita in reservations, Gail in housekeeping, and the doorman Niam were particularly helpful. Thanks to front desk staff for booking golf, shuttles, and providing continual assistance during our stay. While there are many beautiful resorts in Bermuda, this is the one we will happily return to!!

The room was exceptionally clean and our villa was situated on a hill with a great view of the water. The infinity pool was absolutely amazing. The restaurant on-site had delicious food and excellent service. You can dine inside or outside with a lovely view. Hamilton is a short 5-minute complementary ride from the resort on their water taxi. The staff were very friendly and they made sure that my accommodations were as expected upon my arrival. I was happy that Elbow Beach was less than a 10-minute ride away as well as the golf course. The resort arranges a shuttle to take you to those places and others. If you need to take a taxi to Hamilton, it is only about 10 minutes away. Bermuda has wonderful sights, but I recommend not to walk on the narrow streets (many have no sidewalks). It's always better to take the complementary shuttle, ferry or taxi.

I highly recommend staying at this beautiful, convenient resort with spectacular views!

Still very much recovering from the pandemic, but the whole island is. Not the luxury you expect from the website. Just entering the reception area was disappointing, very small and basic for a 4* hotel and tired staff. The rooms were clean, but did lack a luxury feel. Everything quite basic. Beds were mid-firm and comfortable. Rooms had great view over the water to Hamilton. Perhaps I did not do enough research, but I thought the golf course was just about on site, short walk from the hotel, it was not! The free shuttle - which was good (apart from the seat belts not working) took 5mins to the golf course, travelling at twice the Island speed limit around very narrow winding roads. We asked if you could walk there and were quite rightly told it was not recommended. Narrow, no pavements/sidewalks with local cars travelling - lets say with local knowledge /luck and not watching out for pedestrians. Do not walk. Aurora was the only restaurant open (even the pool bar was only just reopening the day we left). The pool is tiny, quite pretty with great views, but very small. The pool area is also small. Room for 12 sun loungers with 3 Bali beds and 10 table with chairs. The ferry service to Hamilton stops at 11.20 and does not resume until 17.20 then ceases again at 19.20. All the staff were plainly tired and it did affect customer service. When we return to Bermuda we will go back to the Hamilton Princess.

We had a 5 night excursion to Bermuda from the USA. The hotel filled all our needs - infinity pool and sun deck was excellent and the bar and aurora restaurant ( if a little pricey like Bermuda) served excellent food and drinks.
We shared a suite with our 19 year old daughter, the suite was comfy with great views across to Hamilton. We got a couple of bottles of complimentary water, so would advise making use of the kitchen facilities and shop at local market for your water and any other food needs.
The highlight is the sunset of an evening across the bay - not to be missed.
Will certainly revisit.

They tested us at the airport and we went directly to the hotel. We were able to use all of the facilities at the hotel including the most important - the bar and the pool. We got our results around 6:00 pm. The food at the hotel is great!! I made a YouTube video of the hotel if your interested. Go to YouTube and type in "Vlog/Review of the Newstead Belmont Hills Hotel Golf Resort and Spa on the island of Bermuda." Sorry for the delay responding, just saw this.
