The St. Regis Bermuda Resort is frequently commended for its luxurious amenities, such as the pools and beach service, and its serene, picturesque beachfront locale near St. George.
While the resort's atmosphere and high-tech rooms with impressive views garner appreciation, guests have called out the odd room layouts and intrusive jazz music. Service quality appears to be a gamble, with some praising the staff's friendliness and others frustrated by inefficiencies. Additionally, the hotel's value is questioned by many, who feel the high costs do not match the luxury promised.

Detailed Reviews
We recently stayed to celebrate our anniversary. Whilst the views are lovely and the rooms comfortable (once you accept the bathroom is the first thing you walk into) we found some key disappointments. Be wary if you are staying on Monday or Tuesday both days the golf course was closed for maintenance (no pre-warning) in addition read the hours of the spa, that too was closed on both Monday and Tuesday so amenities that were advertised were not available at all with no explanation or discounts offered. We were only there for Monday and Tuesday, so basically we paid for a room and one restaurant (same restaurant for all meals so limited choices).
There is a fridge but nothing in your mini bar so nothing at your fingertips when desired.
Housekeeping, we realize it’s a pandemic but advise your guests what the policy of cleaning is, no one told us we would not have our room cleaned and that housekeeping would show up at 5:30pm to offer fresh towels etc.
There’s a lack of evening entertainment especially as the location is remote. If dining outdoors no piped in music no live entertainment, what does one do after dinner? There is a need for some life to be breathed into this new sterile but beautiful hotel. Beauty alone doesn’t make for a full guest experience.
I would have ranked the hotel lower than 3 out of 5 but the staff were excellent friendly and willing to please, they saved our stay to be honest because there was nothing else on offer.
The BLT steak house was good, food was excellent we enjoyed a lovely meal but pricey with no atmosphere unfortunately.
We had an east facing room “partial ocean view” thankfully we were on high floor and had a great view.
If amenities are closed inform your guests in advance so they can book alternative dates, or offer a discount on a meal to compensate. Your staff weren’t even informed that the golf course was closed asking us if we were going to golf, a sore point for us.
We made the most of it but such a shame that we didn’t receive value for money or a complete resort experience.
I hope you fix these simple things there’s so much unrealized potential there. We didn’t make a fuss probably should have, but we only had 2 days and to spend time complaining would have taken away from our short stay.

+1
We stayed here with my daughter and her boyfriend. The room was large and had an ocean view. The beds were extremely comfortable, the mattress and duvets were like lying on a cloud, heaven.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
The hotel is new and has only been open a short time. The problem is that they are still trying to adapt to the newness and the events of the pandemic. The service was rather slow at times. We had a meal in the bar and as we couldn’t get a table in the restaurant one evening they advised that we could order from the menu and it would be brought to us. Great we thought, however it took forever to arrive and when it did I got mine in bits, which lead to me having my green beans after the meal was finished. They were lovely beans but I would have preferred to have them with my main meal. We did have a laugh about it.
They had a wedding party one day and the adult swimming pool was closed from 4:30pm. We had notice of the wedding and closure of the pool and were advised that there would be ambient music heard until 10:30pm when the party would move inside to the ballroom. They wedding was lovely to watch from the balcony as it was set on the beach. However the ambient music was not so ambient from about 8pm. It was so loud that you could not sit out on your balcony and it could be heard in the room with the doors closed. There were many complaints made by the time we called down. The music did stop around 10pm outside so I presume that they asked the wedding party to move inside a bit earlier. I believe that they will end to sort this out for future weddings, People paying over $1000 a night will not tolerate such noise especially when they have come from places like New York for a weekend break.
Housekeeping was a bit hit and miss, they could turn up anytime until 5pm it was not very consistent however they generally did a good job, unfortunately one day they did not leave any toilet paper and there was only 2 rolls which were running very low, (4 adults in a room can use it up rather quickly). We pretty much ran out and had to call down for some more as it was now nearly 3pm and no show of housekeeping. We asked for more and that housekeeping come quickly (there was a certain football final to be watched at 4pm). They didn’t arrive until 4pm just as the match started so my husband and I had to watch he first half on the balcony on our iPads, but at least we had toilet roll hahaha.
The hotel has a few teething problems but the staff are wonderful. They just need more staff to be able to provide the calibre of service expected for a St Regis.
Would most certainly stay again as they will get things right given time.
The pandemic did not help at all and perhaps they were unable to do the soft opening they would normally be able to do.

This was our third trip to Bermuda and by far our best. We chose the St. Regis this time since it is a Marriott affiliate. The hotel was gorgeous. We were upgraded to the Caroline Astor suite which has a large living area, kitchen area, 2nd bathroom, and a beautiful wrap around balcony that allowed views straight to the beach and off the side to Fort St. Catherine. The suite was amazing and spacious and everything was incredibly clean. The bed was very comfortable, the a/c was super quiet (there was condensation dripping from the vent - but it was very humid while we were there) and we heard no noise from other guests. While the hotel was top notch, it was the service that was most remarkable. Every staff member we encountered went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful stay. We were almost always addressed by name which was amazing. Nelson, at the front entrance, was one of our favorites, as were Chris and Christopher at the pool. Everyone was so friendly, professional, and really made for an exceptional experience. We had breakfast daily at the hotel, lunch at the pool, dinner and drinks at Lina and at BLT. The food is very expensive (as it is all over Bermuda), but every meal was perfect and delicious.
While the location is stunning (the beach is small but beautiful and the water was the most vivid turquoise blue I ever remember), the hotel is very remote. It is past the town of St. George and it is not feasible to walk to town. We rented Twizys (available at the hotel) one day to explore a bit, but took a taxi into St. George three times for dinner and once into Hamilton. It would be wonderful if the hotel offered shuttle service (at least to St. George) as the price of the taxis really adds up. On a related note, I would suggest St. Regis not arrange transportation with “Mr. Drip.” We randomly had him for a ride into St. George for dinner. His taxi is not clean and he was $10 more than our other trips in and out of St. George. St. Regis also arranged for him (unbeknownst to us) to take us to the airport and he arrived 10 mins late. His services are just not up to par with many of the other wonderful drivers we had during our stay.
All in all, we had a fabulous, memorable vacation. If you are looking for a top notch hotel in beautiful setting with exceptional service, I would highly recommend the St. Regis.

Walking into the hotel is like walking into a work of art, I and my friend immediately felt welcomed. Usually, hotels have front desks in front as soon as you walk in, and this place was very smart to not do this, as walking into hotels with a front desk as soon as you walk in can be intimidating especially if you are going there to eat at one of their restaurants and not staying in one of their suites. The concept really allows you to walk in and explore the beauty of this gorgeous location. I and my friend went for appetizers and drinks at the NY steakhouse and the staff was very inviting, we were very fortunate to have Umesh as our server who was very friendly, attentive, and well informed about the menu. The food was fantastic, the drinks were amazing, to say the least. We were curious to see the suites as I travel to Bermuda every so often so I was curious to see what the rooms were like, so I can consider staying there on my next trip. All the staff that we saw were very nice that evening, the only thing that was off-putting was, I and my friend were engaged in conversation with one of the concierges about the hotel, and their rooms. When an employee Cole who seemed like a manager, interrupted our conversation and pushed us aside as though we were doing something wrong, which was extremely rude, and we didn't appreciate that. To then wishing us a good evening abruptly ending the conversation. I work in hospitality and with high-end clientele, there are far more effective ways of dealing with a situation like this. If the hotel was extremely busy with tons of phone calls going off, then this would have been excused, but in this instance, it was the evening, no phone calls coming in, no one walking through the lobby of the hotel, barely anyone staying at the hotel. If I was managing I would let my staff member continue the conversation until it ends, but after making them aware that they need to pay better attention to their time for the next time a similar situation comes up. That way the guests don't feel like they did something wrong. But other then that, it was still a great time and very much enjoyed the location, my advice is the hotel needs way more restaurants, more activities, shops etc.... Because it is very far from hamilton and other popular areas!

A new hotel opened in Bermuda, The St. Regis, which is a Ritz like Marriott property, located at the tip of the island, next to Fort St. Catherine. We decided to give it a try as we frequent Marriott’s and have had generally very good experiences.
The St. Regis has only been open for four months, but the hotel was in great shape and running nicely. We dined at the hotel at least ten times during our stay, and the food was excellent. We enjoyed patio lunches, lunch at the beach, patio dinners, and room service.
Their “butler” service is excellent, we were provided complimentary coffee every morning in our room, within 5-10 minutes of our call. The staff was polite, professional, and very concerned with making our stay comfortable.
The hotel is on a beautiful stretch of beach, with calm water and soft sand. The sand isn’t as pink as the South Shore beaches (such as Elbow beach or Horseshoe Bay) but the water is calmer and more enjoyable for a relaxing swim. They have two infinity pools, one for families and the other for adults.
We were upgraded to a beautiful ocean front suite for our stay, these usually run about $1,400 a night, and to say they are spacious is an understatement. The water view from the 4th-floor was spectacular. The St. Regis leans toward contemporary styling, so the furnishings have clean lines, and the rooms are spartanly adorned. We thought the St. Regis was a beautiful and well-run property and would be delighted to return!

I booked this trip for our family months ago. Two rooms with the description “deluxe ocean view”. Upon arrival the condescending man at check in said we had partial view rooms. I was confused by this as I was positive our room description did not say “partial view”. We are beyond disappointed to have a “deluxe” view of a parking lot. I checked our original reservation and it says “deluxe ocean view”. When I brought this up to the manager I was informed that management changed the description of the rooms since we had booked. We were not notified nor given the oceanfront rooms. My husband is a gold Bonvoy member but they could care less. They say they’re at full capacity and can’t change our rooms, however, if I look on the website the rooms are available and housekeeping (which by the way shows up at 5:30 to clean rooms when you want to shower) said the hotel’s at 60% capacity. There was no effort to make up for the fact that they duped us with the category room title. We’ve stayed at other St-Regis properties and this place feels more like a Radisson with a beautiful beach. Before coming I had read several reviews about poor service. I can say the service at the beach, pool, and restaurants is very good. Wish I could enjoy the ocean view we had booked. Our balcony isn’t even enjoyable, it’s fully visible to rooms next door and bellow. Would not recommend and will not return. This is our third trip to Bermuda there are much better options. If only the employees tried a little bit to make up for their admitted failure to properly name the categories. They did NOTHING. They could have offered a discount or included breakfast

This was a very disappointing stay. I tried to discuss issues both during my stay and at check-out but was dismissed with a "thank you for bringing to our attention but we're not doing anything" attitude.
The beach location is great, but the service is sub-par and comes nowhere near close to justifying the price tag here. The staff readily admit they are hugely understaffed right now, so it's poor that the lower wages bill has not translated to lower room rates.
Issues encountered were:
No Titanium upgrade to standard suite (despite all suite categories being on sale).
No desk to work at in room.
Not possible to watch television from sofa.
No kettle or tea bags provided.
Only paper cups rather than crockery ones provided.
No response when calling butler (four times) or reception. (Told only one butler for all guests.)
Slippers provide only on request.
No evening turndown.
Only one restaurant for dinner, and it has been configured in the evening as a steakhouse with eight types of steak plus eight main courses, not one vegetarian. Had to negotiate with chef to get two fairly mediocre veggie options.
Apart from our dinner waiter, who was marvellous, staff were generally absent or ineffectual.
The local taxi driver the hotel called to take us back to the airport arrived late and then tried to charge the special event meter rate (rate 3) rather than the standard day rate (rate 1).

First I must say the staff at this resort is 5 stars all the way. The resort is on Saint George’s Island which is really close to a lot of restaurants and bars in downtown Saint George’s. All within a 20 minute walk so not a big deal that there’s only one restaurant on property (well two, it flips at night to BLT steak). Or a five minute twezie electric car ride. We were upgraded to the Carolina Astor suite, which was beautiful and very spacious. A corner room with gorgeous nighttime and morning views. I believe each room has a soaking tub in the middle of the bathroom which is a really great feature and we very much enjoyed. The layout is close enough to the ocean that you can keep the doors open at night and hear the ocean breeze and wake up to the sunset. The one thing that didn’t feel like a St. Regis really throughout the building was finishings. It is very simple, it lacked the opulence that most Saint Regis have. It had painted walls, simple doors and hardware, no crown, light water pressure in the shower, almost as it was at a Marriott. This was a little disappointing to see Marriott do this to the st Regis brand. The ocean was too cold to enjoy at this time and unfortunately the pool is not heated so the hot tub was our only option. The BLT steakhouse had delicious food and I would highly recommend having dinner there. The daytime restaurant, Lina has potential however whoever is making the food does not like salt. Nothing ever seemed to be seasoned.

The stay was largely disappointing, I'm not even comparing to St Regis standard, but to any lower standard hotel in the chain. We are residents in Bermuda. We've been to the BLT restaurant few times and mostly enjoyed the food despite inconsistency in quality. So we decided to try the hotel out for the Valentine's weekend. Shortly after we checked in, we saw two big spiders on the curtain. My husband spend an hour waiting for staffs to handle it, at the end, someone brought a vacuum and my husband used the vacuum to get rid of the spider. The manager apologized and offered to switch us to an upper floor room, he also give us $100 resort credit. We did have a good time since the weather was beautiful. Before leaving, we gave our toddler a bath and put him in clean cloth and ready to go. However, the moment we closed the room door, I turn around and saw a big cockroach on my toddler's neck!!!!!!!! Having lived in Bermuda for more than 5 years, cockroach on someone's body is unheard of and unacceptable!!!!! the Worst part is the hotel's reaction, they responded roaches are common in Bermuda and refused to reimburse us in anyway. It's been a week, thinking of that scene still gives me goosebumps, it's going to take a while to get rid of that memory. Too bad we were planning to return in couple of weeks, now we will go to either Loren or Rosewood.

Our party of four in two rooms just returned from a fantastic stay at the St. Regis. The hotel and large rooms and balconies are beautiful with unbelievable views of the turquoise ocean on one side and gorgeous sunsets on the other. The beds are very comfortable, the shower was huge, a fun soaking tub in the center of the bathroom, and nice balcony furniture. The staff from the front desk to the bars and restaurant to the pool and beach assistants to the cleaning people to the door staff were all incredibly friendly, professional, and helpful. Most knew us by name after a day. The breakfast buffet with made to order egg dishes was wonderful. The two warm pools and hot tub were amazing, and the beach just feet away with plenty of chairs and umbrellas was terrific. While many hotels in Bermuda are on cliffs so there are lots of steps to get around or shuttles to take you to the pool or beach, this property is such easy access for seniors, kids, or anyone. The gym is well appointed, the lobby and pool/beach area have beautiful individual bathrooms for anyone to use, the adjacent Five Forts executive golf course is a great activity, and the nearby walkable Tobacco Bay is fun for easy snorkeling with beautiful parrot fish among many others. The St. Regis staff helped us rent mopeds which were conveniently delivered in their parking lot and were great for exploring the island (driving on the left of course!), and they also happily arranged taxis for us when we wanted to venture out for dinner. The rum swizzles from the bar were outstanding, and we also enjoyed the St. Regis champagne sabering tradition on the lobby balcony with complimentary glasses of champagne. An amazing time and we can't wait to return. Thanks to everyone at the St. Regis!!
