Playa Linda is one of my favorite places. The upgrades and modernization, specifically of the lobby and pool, are just beautiful and have enhanced the warmth of the complex. Although I thought I would miss the spiral staircase, I love the new staircase even more....More

Yes, there are plenty of shops, all different prices from high end stuff at the mall, to more localized shops. Plenty of food choices with the same range - very expensive to fast food like Wendy's and McDonalds.
The chikki huts in front of the Playa Linda are reserved for renters of the resort only, and is strictly enforced. but the actual beach and the water are available for all who walk over from other resorts or the cruise ships. More
