Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino stands out for its prime location, beloved by many travelers for its easy access to local dining, shopping, and beach activities. However, guests have called out the noise from ongoing construction and have expressed concerns over the value, citing extra costs for beach amenities.
While the resort's cleanliness and range of amenities receive praise, opinions on the rooms are mixed, with some describing them as spacious and others as dated. The lively atmosphere and music are a hit for some but can be intense for others, and while service is generally well-regarded, there have been occasional reports of delays and unmet expectations.

Hotel's Favourite
Our trip to Aruba was amazing, our first time there and would highly recommend. The Hilton hotel was in a great location, on a soft sandy beach with warm calm turquoise waters. Watching the sunset was an awesome experience every time. There’s plenty of souvenir shops and restaurants nearby, we stayed for 7 nights and had dinner out 3 nights, food was great each night. There’s also a few open air bars which have a good vibe. We went out shopping one day at Renaissance Mall, a 15min drive away. Locals are friendly and speak good English, it’s a safe island in general.
We got a Palm Beach Club room which was worth the extra money with a sea view balcony. The room was huge with two queen beds and plenty of wardrobe storage. We had breakfast in the palm beach club dining room, which is a small room on the same floor as all the palm beach club rooms. Matilda, Afroze, Irma and Mercedes really looked after us the whole trip. Matilda even got me a birthday gift which was a lovely and thoughtful surprise.
Food was amazing full of flavour, it’s served as a semi-buffet with high quality fresh ingredients. It’s not your typical buffet mass produced so there aren’t lots of options but we always found something we could eat. Included in the room package is breakfast, afternoon tea (the open sandwiches tasted amazing) and a free evening bar with small bites to eat. Every morning we’d have a fresh omelette made to our liking, fresh pancakes, and fresh fruit smoothie. We also had the ingredients to make a fresh salmon bagel which tasted amazing. We tried breakfast in the hotels main buffet area once and never went back as the friendly service, convenient location, and peace and quiet in the palm beach club dining room could not be beaten. It was beginning of peak season so there was never a rush, plus with it being exclusive to palm beach club rooms there is a limited number of people there. The evening bar included is essentially bottles of alcohol and mixers to make your own drinks. They even had grey goose vodka! We used to pour the alcohol and take it back to our room so we could relax.
There was construction going on but we were never disturbed by it. The hotel grounds have large and small lizards living there openly but they are totally harmless. There’s also a bird area, casino, water sports on the beach, and the bar plays music at night. We did the tube ride on the beach one day which was fun. All in all I would go back to Aruba and stay at the Hilton. I walked up the entire beach and the Hilton definitely had the cleanest beach as there were bits of seaweed further up. The pool was good but we spent most our time on the beach and in the ocean. The spa was very relaxing too I had a full body massage. I came to Aruba to relax and did exactly that with great hotel service.

Aruba is the sunniest of the Caribbean Islands with long, wide white sand beaches, rugged coastlines, and welcoming people. We stayed at the Hilton Aruba, which was the first hotel built on the beach in 1959, but it has been nicely updated with a fun retro vibe (I half expected to see Liz Taylor and her friends under a beach palapa). The Hilton’s location is perfect if you like to be in the center of things, it is right across the street from many good restaurants so you don’t need a car. We rented a Jeep for a day of off-road driving up the coast, and Hertz conveniently had a desk located in the hotel lobby. Aruba seems very family friendly, the white sand beaches never get hot for tender young feet and we saw many families catered to at the various restaurants. The only breakfast option at the hotel is the typical buffet, but we preferred breakfast at Salt and Pepper or Craft. We had a nice dinner at the hotel’s steak house, and other restaurants we liked were Agua and Lobby Bar & Restaurant, all near the hotel. The hotel has beautiful grounds, pools, and beach area. You can reserve palapas ahead of time, online, for a cost, but if you stay on the club floor they are complimentary. Aruba is expensive and very windy - 25 mph avg. one day, but we got used to the “breeze” and didn’t notice any bugs (my husband said they are blown all the way to St. Thomas!). Golf or tennis would be a real challenge in the wind, glad we didn’t bring our clubs. We loved relaxing on the beach and are now heading home to another snowstorm. This was our first trip to Aruba and we hope to return and stay at the Hilton.

Absolutely a 5 star stay. My husband and I stayed here for my husbands 30th birthday weekend and the staff/hotel did not disappoint. We stayed on the 8th floor at the palm beach club within the Hilton and we’re treated with such care the entire stay. Special shout-out to Afroze at the palm beach club for the wonderful and careful hospitality she was such a delight.
A beach palapa was included in our stay as well as breakfast, tea time and cocktail hour at the beach club- we were never hungry let’s just put it that way. The staff on the beach was great and constantly checked in with us. Most days we pretty much woke up, had breakfast at the club and went straight down to our palapa for the whole day. We had lunch brought to us at the beach and then eventually went up for tea time/cocktail hour then back down for dinner. The sunset grille had good food with some nice and fresh options. We did dinner at Bugaloe one night after we returned from a sunset sail with De Palms Aruba (overall nice cruise). I can’t rave enough about our stay and the amazing level of hospitality. We were treated so well and on my husbands actual birthday we were gifted with so many things- multiple cakes, a bag of aloe spa amenities and rose from the beach club. Highly recommended and will definitely be returning!

We visited Aruba for the first time and enjoyed a great vacation at the Hilton. Although the property was built in 1960, the buildings and amenities are well maintained. The staff is comprised of some of the most welcoming and helpful people we have experienced in the Caribbean! One Housekeeper, Violet, went out of her way to ensure our rooms were stocked and cleaned each day and without interruption to our schedule. She apparently overheard we were celebrating a birthday and took steps to decorate the room a bit, also placing a bottle of champagne on ice for Cathy to enjoy. Similarly, Yeda at the Laguna Restaurant made some memorable omelettes, always with a smile and friendly greeting. LiLiana seemed to show up in the restaurants and lounge areas to ensure we had our favorite drinks, were well fed and otherwise enjoying our day. A great trip!

A Much Needed Vacation In These Trying Times!
What more can I say…other than I missed Aruba terribly! You feel a sense of peace once the plane lands and you are on the way to the Hilton Resort and Spa.
First, the Hilton Resort and Spa staff defines the brand and has an immense impact on the stay. The staff was warm, professional and as kind as ever. The ease of checking into a room prior to the flight helped tremendously. Rai at the front desk was awesome! The Hilton has not missed a beat. The hotel provided plenty of hand sanitizer, clear signage in the halls and elevators and rooms are, as in the hotel video, cleaned and sealed prior to check in.
Mr. Silvio welcoming us back with a smile and Mr. Francisco always checking in with kindness and humor as we set off to dinner each evening alleviated anxiety of travel and current/past global challenges. The crew at Gilligan’s was so happy to see us and vice versa. After checking in it was nice to grab a casual bite there and catch up with everyone before heading to the casino. Oscar’s market remains a gem. The staff was so attentive and the daily items offered ranged from baked goods, croissant breakfast sandwiches and yogurt parfaits to snacks and gelato to stay cool on the way to your room or tea and coffee to end the day.
This year we opted to pay for palupas daily and set up on the beach was ideal, the team remains amazing at what they do. Use of the website was not difficult; however, I do miss the old days of lining up in the afternoon to secure a free hut and chatting with fellow beach goers.
On the beach we lucked out with the Beach Bites team, as all on the team were fab; Christian remains a standout as he provided service with a subdued, friendly, professional demeanor that could not be beat. This presence combined with the food offerings (all delicious) made the days stress free and secure. Last a big shout out to Sunset Grille! Ms. Audrey and the team took good care of us on my sister’s birthday with a light, fun mood and a few laughs.
The grounds were lush and immaculate as ever; it was great to see the visible security who were all friendly. We were so happy to see Ms. Maggie, Ms. Patricia and the beach hut family kept order and friendliness in a high traffic area.
Overall, the majority of folks did their part to respect the regulations in place to remain safe and healthy; and that made for a brand new appreciation for vacation travel in 2021. Thanks Hilton Resort & Spa Aruba!

My husband, 22 year old daughter, 17 year old son and I stayed for 7 nights at this hotel. it was a pleasure from the minute we arrived. The hotel is on the smaller side (350 rooms) which made the experience more personal and intimate. The resort is beautifully designed with stunning views, multiple options for dining, pools and casual areas to relax and unwind. The resort is spotless and the staff work hard to make sure you feel welcome and have everything you need. Everyone is so nice and seem to really enjoy what they do. The hotel offers activities every day and we highly recommend the cycling tour along with the paddle boarding lesson. Jean Pierre(JP) was our guide for both activities and he was simply the best. The 2 hour cycling tour took us to the lighthouse and back. We had several stops where JP explained some of the island's history. Paddleboarding was a lot of fun too. There is no doubt that JP enjoys his job and he is excellent at making us feel at home. Giovanni runs the show and was also our server at Gilligan's restaurant. He had us smiling from the minute we sat down(woohoo!). His happiness radiated throughout our visit and always made us smile. We all said we would be back to this hotel for the beauty, high quality rooms and especially the top notch service. Our resort 'family' said they would see us next year and Aruba should be treated as our second home! We will be back!

The hotel doesn't seem like much when you first drive up, however, the property of this hotel is expansive. Its very green and lush (palm trees everywhere) it has 3 nice restaurants, a beautiful large outdoor bar by the pool and 3 nice large pools. The space is so big that it never feels full. Reserving a palapa seems unneccessary as they were never filled. Perhaps because you have to pay $50 for the palapas that were closest to the shore! It seems a bit extra for the hotel to charge for those... it should just be first come first serve like most other hotels. The beach water is gorgeous, cyrstal clear with calm waves, and never full or over-populated. The rooms weren't large but they were updated and clean. The bathroom was very nice and renovated. There are 3 towers: The Aruba the Bonaire and the Curacao. The Curacao is what you get when you book an ordinary room. It's the farthest away from the main building. If you have a chance to stay here, request a room in the Aruba main building its close to everything and has higher floors for a better view of the ocean. Also, its not worth getting the Breakfast plan, you can easily go outside of the resort for an inenxpensive breakfast, or pay as you go at the Hotel restaurant. This hotel is centrally located across the street from many restaurants and shops. The fitness center is fully stocked and nice as well. i would stay at this hotel again, however, I would splurge for an ocean view room at the Aruba tower next time.

The staff at the Hilton were all so unbelievably welcoming and kind, showcasing how amazing Aruban hospitality truly is.

Orlando, our server from Sunset Grille was making us laugh during the whole dinner. The food was amazing and we overall had a great night.
Violet from housekeeping is very hardworking and always left our room spotless and playing music for our return which was so nice.

1. The lobby is basically outdoors. The lobby is open to the front and back keeping it extremely well ventilated and essentially outdoors with just a roof.
2. It has the largest square footage of beach in Aruba allowing for the most distancing possible on the beach and while swimming. Not to mention that the beach at the Hilton is one of the nicest on the island. The least rocky and the cleanest sand
3. The beach staff is amazing and includes cleaning the chairs in front of you without asking, so you don’t have to question if they are clean or not. An especially nice touch during these times
4. On-site covid testing. Now that the US requires a negative test to come back, having testing at the hotel makes the process so easy. I was in and out in 5 minutes and got my results in 24 hours.
5. Mask compliance for both staff and guests. The staff is always wearing masks and wearing them properly. None of this below the nose nonsense. The guests are also extremely respectful and always wore masks in the lobby (even though it’s well ventilated), gym, coffee shops, stores, corridors, elevators etc
6. Great outdoor food options on the property and directly across the street. You don’t have to go far and spend money on cabs to have a great culinary outdoor experience
7. We have always loved the Hilton Aruba, but how they’ve implemented covid precautions is really outstanding and we felt extremely safe the entire time

Hilton provided the usual nice rooms (although pricey) and location but the staff could be a little more friendly for the $$. Check in staff and those at the breakfast buffet could be nicer and friendlier. Not happy that they wouldn't give me my Hilton Honors DIAMOND status benefits or points because I did not book through the Hilton site. I guess you can either save money or be an honored guest but you can't have both.

Shelton, Connecticut, United States43 contributions11 helpful votesLooking to stay there in late May. We just stayed at the Hyatt and did a "driveby." We are Hilton Diamond members and prefer the Hilton property. Do you have a timeline on opening the barricade in front of where Gilligan's was? I feel like it obstructs alot. Just wondering what will be completed by then
Hi Greg,
You should be upgraded without a problem. The concierge should be able to take care of your upgrade with breakfast included. The Aruba Tower is open and it has been completely refreshed so the rooms are really nice! Enjoy your stay!
I do not remember seeing people's sun shade set ups. Just looked through my beach pictures, I see many palapas but no personal set ups.
