Built by Nelson; yes, the Admiral. The bar, the central feature of the foyer, has a bar game that has been there (it is alleged) since that time – although the facility wasn't a hotel or bar in 1784, it was a tar and pitch store with some rooms for officers and dockyard engineers upstairs. Some reviewers on this site... More

A test of a good hotel is how they handle you when things go wrong. Arrived late evening after 9 hour flight amid torrential rain, checked into OK room with tiny shower room. No hot water ( but quickly sorted, though we had to wait), went to bed exhausted, only to be woken several times by water coming into the... More

This is a really friendly hotel with a great location in picturesque Nelson's Dockyard. We stayed for 4 days and explored the area. A convenient boat shuttle tales guests over the wait tona swimming pool and restaurant or to nearby Galleons Beach. Comfortable beds. The only downside were the mosquitoes around the cottages which rendered the veranda unusable. We ate... More

Upon our recent visit to Antigua we were told Shirley Heights is a must do ! So whilst driving around we stumbled across Admirals inn. At first we thought it was closed, but on closer inspection we were told lunch was being served across the bay at the gunpowder site. A charming and knowledgable local took us across in the... More

we stayed for 2 nights; first night was in a harbour-view room in the Admirals Inn; the room was too small for us, barely enough space to layout suitcases, tight headroom and small bathroom. All beautifully clean but we asked to move. To be fair the hotel did comment when we booked that the room was small but perhaps that... More

The hotel is in the middle of the historic part of English Harbour. My room was very nice, and seemed quite historic. The restaurant was good. Hotel can arrange transport to the airport. The only complaint was the Internet, which I don't think was working.

Great location, and great food, but not on the beach even though the view is quite nice. I didn't stay at Boom, only came to explore this new location. Its nice to see the colonial and more modern blend, however it seems that the development of this hotel devalued much of the former powered magazine's historical value and environmental significance... We didn't stay here but went for a meal a couple of times whilst we were in Antigua. The setting, the food and the cocktails were amazing. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely go here again if (or rather, when) we go back to Antigua.

My son and I stayed here for 12 nights in the low season for the Seaboard Marine Optimist North American Championships and had a wonderful experience. Admirals Inn is a boutique hotel — beautiful, full of character, quirks and history, and well supported by helpful, friendly and accommodating staff and owner. The location of the Inn was superb — to... More
