I booked through Expedia for 2 weeks sunshine. The website said the hotel had 3 restaurants, 5 bars, casino, spa, gym, jacuzzi and pool. A casino and nightly entertainment. There was 1 bar, no poolside bar, a dirty pool, no casino, no entertainment, broken loungers and 1 restaurant that served inedible food from a menu that had 4 choices (1...

Stayed at this hotel for Christmas 2016. It was as many other people stated... completely deserted. Which wasn't the biggest problem. The pools were disgustingly dirty with trash and debris. It was a complete health hazard. There weren't any lounge chairs set up or available. The tennis court is in complete shambles. The playground rusted and dilapidated. The amenities listed...

I was quite disgusted that we were sold this holiday; the pictures on the website gave us the impression that this is an active vibrant hotel. There was a few people there it was like we were in a ghost town, most of the hotel is closed for renovation, there was an empty swimming pool, a pool with dirty water,...

I was returning to Dominica where I currently live, after spending Christmas & New Year in the UK. We arrived late in the afternoon, and needed to be at the airport early the next morning (4 am) to catch our flights. This booking was therefore to be a crash pad. When we arrived there was nobody available to assist with...

Writing from the lobby of this hotel...it's empty no clients and totally silent....deserted. The beach is also deserted. If you want to stay in a huge empty hotel,........ your choice. There is a lot of essential work to be done to make this hotel viable......very sad.

Hotel was virtually empty apart from a night when an airline diversion filled it, and we ate elsewhere - but - great empty beach, nice gardens, security, no higglers, good pool although not needed, comfortable clean room, if you have a rental car and want to explore this lovely island its fine and at the cut price we got -...

This hotel is not a sparkly 5 star, but it is set in a perfect position on the most amazing secluded beach. The hotel is basic but clean, decent food and very friendly staff. If your looking to spend your time being pretty much the only person on the beach, then this is the place! Only a short drive away...

My recommendation is do not book to stay in this hotel until it has been completely refurbished. A tired, once grand building which had had only the basic essential repairs since it opened in the 1980's; Rooms are clean but the bathrooms lack hot water, with the shower fittings failing daily. The restaurant is disappointing - overpriced with shocking service...

The Grand Royal Antiguan Beach Hotel is located on the outskirts of the Capital City St.John. The hotel is quiet, spacious with beautiful manicured lawns. The food was enjoyable and the front desk staff were efficient. Cons The sporting facilities such as Tennis Courts were not maintained and are overrun by vegetation. Fans were used in the rooms to supplement...

The hotel was advertised on a hotel booking website at a decent rate. This was a reasonable price compered to other hotels in Antigua at the time of this year . So I went shared and booked it . However with the taxes the prices was exactly the same than any other decent hotels . When approaching the hotel In...
