For the climb of the longido mountain we stayed in Tembo. After some days of camping the warm welcome we received in Tembo was heart warming. Accommodations are simple but sufficient. We tried to reserve but did not get reply so we just took the risk to go there and make the appointments in place. Recommended.

We stayed at the Tembo Guesthouse for six nights. The guesthouse is clean and inviting. The rooms have two single beds (quite comfortable) and mosquito nets. The rooms and bathrooms are around the perimeter of the building. The dining and common room is in the centre of the building. There are a couple of lovely sitting areas outside. The backdrop...

The TEMBO Guesthouse truly feels like my home in the little village of Longido. I stayed at the guesthouse for 3 weeks and loved every moment of it. The staff are incredible and do everything they can to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Nusra makes delicious traditional Tanzanian meals and I still crave her cooking. The rooms are clean,...

We stayed here for 4 nights after finishing our Safari - only 45 min to an hour dalla dalla from Arusha. The town is lovely and relaxing compared to Arusha and full of friendly people. It instantly felt like we were at home - the staff are so friendly and the atmosphere is so welcoming with staff and other guests....

I recently had an opportunity to spend two weeks at Tembo Guesthouse (TGH), in Longido Tanzania. Longido is a predominantly Maasai village that straddles the paved highway that links Nairobi Kenya and Arusha Tz. It is about 20 km south of the border at Nmanga. TGH is tucked in behind the numerous shops 100 m east of the highway off...

We stayed here because we were visiting in order to support the local charity Sauta Mojo (check out their website - very good cause). Longido is certainly off the beaten track, just south of the Kenya Border heading to Arusha (hope that by the time you travel there the road is finished...otherwise - prepare for bumps and dust). Beautiful guesthouse,...

With the mountain [Mt. Longido] dew to wake up to and the howl of Tembo dog and sumptuous Tembo chapati [pancake] with canadian maple syrup.....and the birds chirping on their way home in the evening as you sip down a Tusker of Kili watching the beautiful sunset and the stars in the night.....what more can define serenity. And the conservation...

We thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay at the TEMBO Guesthouse in Longido! When we arrived from Arusha, we were warmly greeted by the staff who immediately made us feel at home. We found the rooms very clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed the convenience of warm showers and Western-style toilets. The Guesthouse is within easy walking distance of the Maasai...

Very comfortable and cool, even when it was extremely hot outside. and the showers were absolutely luxurious after a long, sweaty day. The food was delicious, and prepared with care. The staff were supportive, and always eager to hear stories from the day's events. The Guesthouse has a patio for sitting out at night under the big sky. (Be prepared...

“Two rooms have ensuite baths. We didn't have one of these and so had to share with one other room. It wasn't a problem.”
