We stayed 4 days at the Cedar Farmhouse - all adults, no kids. Overall we had a very relaxing long weekend in comfortable accommodation. The house is wonderfully insulated - cool in the hot days and warm in the cool nights. Well equipped kitchen, nice bathrooms, comfy beds. Could use more comfortable seating on the verandas. We enjoyed the fire...

We spent 3 nights in the spacious authentic house on the grounds of Baviaanskloof. We were 3 generations and each had facilities for a great stay. The kids loved the reservoir swimming, the cob bed on the verandah and bonfire in the garden, plus the sheep and tortoises around. There were great walks, near and far. I loved the house,...

Found this place online and it looked peaceful and beautiful - we weren't disappointed when we arrived, set in beautiful mountains with stunning scenery all around. The guesthouse was delightfully rustic with a lovely log fire, braai area outside, and artwork all around the interior. The things I would say were important to note: The route is very bumpy and...

We were 3 couples spending a night in the farmhouse at the end of our trip through the Baviaans. We all simply fell in love with the house and wished we would have booked for a longer stay. The house has a beautiful garden, braai pit, a reservoir for swimming and walks clearly signposted.

We stayed at Cedar guesthouse for 2 nights. Its a lovely old house that the owners have equiped well.. comfy beds and linen. Unfortunately it was not serviced. The farm must have been absolutely stunning "in the old days" but is a bit run down and neglected now..the owners do not live there anymore. We went on a beautiful hike...

We spent 2 nights at Cob Cottage in early November as part of our adventure through the Baviaanskloof. Perfect place to unwind from the city life. Cottage was clean and very comfortable. Solar and gas systems worked very well. Willem was very helpful. Nice hiking trail. Unique experience.

We stayed in the 'just for two' cottage. The place has a special old world charm. Totally secluded and quiet. We stayed for only only one night but could imagine ourselves staying for much longer as it is the perfect place to relax. The bed was Comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. The bathroom under the night sky might proof...

Report back from Kate (Forbes) 5 day 'Boot Camp' (far nicer than a Boot Camp!) in the Baviaanskloof. May sound corny - but it was that good. Mind cleared; body lighter; soul deeper. Threw away my watch (not literally!) and enjoyed timelessness...if you love the Baviaans already - you'll know its peace and power. I've been to the Stellenbosch Hydro,...

We stayed at Cob Cottage and what a wonderful stay it was. The cottage is unique, comfortable with feather duvets, and rustic all at the same time. It has everything you need for self catering. I loved the outdoor shower and bath. We only used the solar heating for hot water, but in the event of no sun there is...

If my mind could last as long as those fascinating cave-paintings, I'd remember my visit to Cedar Guest House for eons! The surrounding mountains whisper old, mystical stories, the labyrinth oozes spirituality. And to be seated around a fire under a night sky that's suddenly got much bigger. Signs of artistry made manifest everywhere - in the renovated farmhouse (I...
