We were woken by a Kudu that happened to wander across the hill opposite our chalet. Turns out Kudus can bark and are more likely to do so if you're scrambling out of bed for a camera. We were looking for a one-night stopover on our route and found Sederkloof Lodge via TripAdvisor. The location was a high point of...

Dramatic scenery and very attentive staff. We were fortunate to be the only 4 people staying at the resort. Pieter Vorster, the manager, did an outstanding job showing us the fauna and flora of Baviaanskloof wich includes kudu, babboons, leopard, impala, gemsbok and a host of other creatures

Bit disappointed about the service level. Food was ok but very simple. Fridge was not filled up, just a small bottle of water. No rusks and was it coffee or tea in the small pots ? No staff present in the afternoon. Breakfast was very poor, kitchen staff very slow and not so friendly. We had to ask for everything....

We loved it! The lodge is wonderful with amazing views. The rooms are gorgeous and also have the most spectacular views. The food was really beautifully presented. The drive around the farm and a few of the surrounding sights was a delight. We'll be back! If you're brave enough (and have the correct vehicle) the drive from Studtis to Patensie...

We, a German couple, staid for 4 nights in the lodge. Location, staff, management, food were perfect. Amazing landscape and an excellent service of Pieter and his team....... but taken as a whole seems a little bit overpriced.

This was our penultimate stop on our way back home. The Baviaanskloof is a world heritage sight and once you're there you are reminded just how magnificent South Africa is and how much it has to offer. Thys and Alice Cilliers are the perfect hosts in this majestic piece of heaven on earth. There is only one caveat - a...

Stunning location with very comfortable accommodation and good wholesome food. If wine had been included in the price then the value for money would have improved. Our hosts Thys and Alice were helpful, informative and attentive. Access to the lodge needs a 4x4 or a transfer with Thys.

We stayed here for just one night but in that time we were treated to incredible hospitality from Thys and Alice and their team. Delicious food was served at all mealtimes and the facilities both in our chalet and the main lodge were fantastic. The location and views are faultless and the property gives you a real sense of solitude...

Beautiful lodge in tranquil setting. Chalets are spacious with magnificent views, total privacy. Food is excellent South African cuisine. The kitchen quickly adopted to my wife's vegetarian diet. Pieter, the lodge manager, worked non-stop to ensure all the guests enjoyed their stay. (The owners were away.) Kiewiet, the lodge guide, led us on an informative, fun hike into one of...
