It's not very often I will make time to write a detailed review, but this hotel is extraordinary, and deserves explanation. As a preface, I'm a well seasoned traveller in my late 30's. Visited nearly every Country, and yet until recently not Portugal. It had never really taken my fancy. Anyhow, the hotel Marazul took me by complete surprise. It's...

Although the owner was lovely and friendly, this was not at all what we expected. It is in the middle of nowhere except that it is almost on top of a church that has chimimg bells every half hour from 7.00am to 10.00pm. It is in need of a total makeover and I was so cold I slept in my...

Wevstayed here for 4 nights in July and couldn't really fault the place, the rooms are cleaned to perfection by the lovely manageress Lolita, however a few tiny issues like the shower head needs fixing as it wouldn't stay up,, a bit of fruit at breakfast would of beenideal but as it is a 2 star there is no room...

My wife and I spent the first 2 nights in Portugal at Hotel Marazul. This was a great way to start a 20 day vacation. Hotel Marazul helped us totally relax and get into holiday mode. Our first night we slept in and not until we started counting the church bell chimes did we realize it was 10:00am. Serra D'el-Rei...

We read almost only good reviews, but we had a terrible time staying one night at this hotel. Most annoying - and maybe this didn't happen when previous reviewers were there - there's a church bell right outside your window and the bell rings ALL NIGHT LONG. Each and every hour. We woke up every time with the bell. Other...
