I stayed in a pool access room and did not regret paying the minimal extra to have this room as it was well worth it.
Travelling with my mother it guaranteed us a ground floor room but was also a great position for all access to the cafe, pool, swim up pool bar and beach.
We chose the all-inclusive package but at no time expected the multiple different choices we would be entitled to. There were 6 different restaurants, with multiple different cuisines and the cocktail list to choose from was mind blowing with different choices at different restaurants as well. The breakfast on offer was the best I have experienced in all of my travelling with something to please any appetite or diet.
I like the way they had the 2 separate buildings (family paradise) for the families with kids and the Grand Mirage for those with or without kids but what it did was minimize the kids running around the pool with the swim up pool bar. Don't get me wrong there were still kids around but there was so much for them to do at the other pools with the slides and additional activities they weren't interested in coming over and the additional of the adult only infinity pool was great.
Although we did venture out to see a few sights there was actually no need to with all the activities and nighttime entertainment supplied.
I am definitely organizing another visit after easter 2025 when the lazy river is completed.
The staff there were absolutely amazing, they could not do enough for us. From the work experience lad assisting us to our room and explaining where things were located to the staff who filled the mini bar daily and cleaned the room and added personal little additions like elephants and people made out of towels and little leaves with frangipani's with 'sleep tight' written on them. They all made our stay extra special.
If you are looking for a place where you can unwind, and everything is taken care of this is your place and it is not too far out to travel and do some sightseeing if you still wanted to, but you could honestly come here and just enjoy the entertainment and activities provided without having to leave the resort.

Grand Mirage exceeded our expectations with 6 night accommodation that had a beautiful room and view, delicious buffet with great variety from sweet and savoury to spicy and fresh.
The beach well maintained and the pool has depths enough for children to a tall 178cm person still not touching the bottom.
It’s tranquil and well maintained and the staff are generous including late checkout till 2pm (I’ve never had that before it’s great).
Good sleep and good rest back in the hotel room is so important so I wanted to give a shout out to Sudayasa. He is the individual maintains out hotel room and every day I come back to a room that’s cleaned, organised, floors sweeper and mopped, sheets and towels replaced, bath tubs cleaned and my clothes folded tidy on the bed.
You can see why a picky person like me felt so comfortable in this space even without those slippers. Not a single bug in the room and not a single hair on my sheets, floor or bathroom.
I’ve fallen for this resort and I know I will come back very soon.
So once again to Sudayasa, thank you.

The staff were all really great and hotel and rooms very clean, however for $400 AUD a night I would expect a slightly larger family room. Make sure you have your do not disturb light on once the kids go to sleep as we had housekeeping knock and open our door at 9pm which made an awful racket as the chain lock was on.
Meals at the restaurants were not the greatest quality however the breakfast was really nice and service also really great there.
There are also restaurants within walking distance which is great as prices at the resort are basically AUS prices. Bali Collection had a shuttle service which is also very handy as there are lots of restaurants there. If you miss the shuttle times the security there organise a car service with set prices and very friendly drivers.
We loved Wini at the kids club and that was the highlight of the kids stay, great selection of daily activities and most of it is free unlike other resorts we have been too. The kids loved the turtle release activity
What we absolutely loved was the availability of drinking water every where with filtered water stations all over the resort. So be sure to bring a refillable bottle. This was such a great addition and we loved not having to purchase bottles of drinking water.

I enjoyed relaxing at the beach and pool. Especially the cocktails we had at the Adult Only Innity Pool were the most relaxing! It may have been just a coincidence, but it was nice to have sunny weather during my stay, even though it was raining season. Thanks to you, I got a tan and became Balinese in a day.
Marine sports include jet skiing and kayaking! Windsurfing was abandoned due to the strong wind! I also did yoga, sup yoga and aquabics.
The food is neither good nor bad, the food was Indian and this is available at the reception upon reservation. There was a dress code, but everyone was wearing sandals and T-shirts. Bintang beer is delicious!
If you are a first-time user of this hotel, we would like to inform you that it is not listed in the hotel information. The laundromat is located in the family building, but is styled to buy coins at reception for Rp50,000. I used it because it was free for one person, two a day, and four for two. The quality of the laundry is pretty good.
The Japanese type A outlet is available, but only type C was available by the sink. People who need a transformer (220V to 100V) are not likely to be rented out at the hotel, so those who desperately need one must bring one.
Finally, I would like to thank Kohei-san for giving me detailed advice in Japanese. It was great to be able to communicate with them on LINE if I didn’t understand anything.
Overall v nice experience. Staff were extremely helpful and polite - big shout out to Rehmad who was extremely friendly with our kids and dropped us back to the airport.
- kids room with bunk bed and roll out bed so can fit 3 children. Bathroom has kids sized toilet, sink and shower - very cute and useful!
- The main room is big with a comfortable bed and big balcony. The toilet is incredibly high up and must be designed for giants - we ended up using the kids toilet most of the time!
There is a small water play park, kids club with a soft play, playstation games, kids billiards table.
There is a bigger main family pool with a single slide. The pools are very clean and tidy and well maintained.
There is a poolside restaurant with reasonable priced and reasonable quality food.
The resort has the main resort area and a families resort. You can walk along the beach to either side within 5 minutes.
The family resort is separated from the main resort. At times this felt almost like families were pushed towards a 'lesser' side. For example, the beach in the families resort is no where near as clean as the main resort beach. The main resort beach has an inflatable slide, trampoline etc in the sea whereas the family side doesn't. It's not a long walk from the family side to the main beach but it just shows a separation. Guests are allowed to use all facilities regardless of which area you're staying in.
The lobby and restaurants in the main area are much nicer and grander than the family resort.
At check in we were told families could enjoy the breakfast at either the family restaurant or the main restaurant. We were told specifically the breakfast is the same at either so we opted to have breakfast at the family restaurant. On the last day the other family travelling with us decided to check out the main restaurant and found a much nicer spread with multiple more fresh food stations and more variety of food. This was very disappointing as we were told specifically the breakfast was the same on either side and further made us feel like families were separated in this resort with lesser facilities than the main resort.
Pros:
- Friendly staff
- Very helpful staff and excellent communication
- Good facilities
Cons:
- Lesser facilities unless you use the facilities in the main resort.
- Poor breakfast spread at the family resort
Overall I would stay again but make more of the facilities in the main resort and especially have breakfast in the main restaurant.

Kids club had a variety of free and paid activities with the Foam Party and movie night with teepees and popcorn being the highlights for our junior.
Staff were attentive, helpful and always with their beautiful Balinese smile from greeting you at reception, restaurants , by the pool, housekeeping, maintenance, gardener, spa, security - a very happy workplace
Cleanliness and hygiene was excellent.
There are 2 pools one of which is the ‘adults only’ infinity pool (overlooking the ocean)with cabanas where you can also enjoy the famous floating breakfast
Our room was 4428 a suite with a lounge room overlooking the ocean in the main building and it was absolutely gorgeous with a 4 poster bed with curtains
The air conditioning temperature was set perfectly.
Room was spacious as was the bathroom which also had a stand alone bath ( with bath bombs and bubbles)
Lots of coat hangers which was great to see!!!
Our friends stayed in Paradise Country which was the family side of Grand Mirage which is about a 3min walk from the main building along a path via the beachfront.
The rooms are nice and well set up families.
Dinner entertainment some nights includes the appearance of a magician going from table to table involving them in the tricks. . . I’ve never seen so many little eyes like saucers lol
All kids activities, waterpark and anything family related happen here. It is more modern than the main building and if you are looking for quiet this is not the place to be 🤣.
Special mention to
Kevin in Grand cafe
Siti in Thalasso Massage
The amazing luggage boys and trainees who greeted us every time we went out and came back. . . Your smiles are infectious
Terimakasih Grand Mirage for an amazing stay !

I loved the daily yoga classes at the main resort section , they even had stand up paddleboard yoga ! Aqua aerobics, volleyball and lots of other fun activities. We did go between both resorts for meals and swimming pools (2 min walk or free shuttle if raining ) , in the end we preferred the air-conditioned breakfast (although smaller selection) at the Family building.
I am not the type of traveller who just stays at the resort - there were actually a lot of shops on the main street , day spas, laundry services , tailor, supermarkets and Bumbu Bali restaurant/cooking school which is a must-visit place for authentic Balinese food. Also a shuttle bus to the local mall. It is further away from a lot of attractions, around 45 mins to Jimbaran and Kuta depending on traffic.
Staff were so friendly and welcoming. Free water filter stations so you can refill.
We didn't do the all inclusive package as we were doing a few day trips. I didn't really enjoy the food at the hotel (except for breakfast) as it was expensive and always seemed to take ages and limited menu by the pool . Room service was excellent though.
They are building a lazy river to be completed in March - resort will be even more awesome when this is done!
Downsides
- kids club has waterslide park area but this is not separated by a fence and made me too anxious to leave my kids there
- my 3yo could easily unlock the sliding door and walk towards the pool by himself
Food is average we went tried all the restaurants the Bumbu Indian was good as was the Jukung. we also went to the Ibu where we were the only diners which is a shame as the food was very the service was excellent as you can imagine being the only 2 in there. Chop Stix the Chinese restaurant was poor if it wasn't part of the All inclusive and i had to pay I'd be very disappointed it was like a very poor take away. The Buffet's are the usual full of kids picking food up and putting it back down without tongs coughing and sneezing all over everything but that's buffets for you. we ate at one once and my wife ended up ill for 5 days after eating fish.
Pool area was good we used the Adults only pool mainly but the first week you had to be early pre 7:30am to get a bed i didn't mind as i like to watch the sun rise. they say if you reserve a lounger before 9:30am they will remove towels. This never happed it was more of a idle threat. many were reserved before then and the occupant turned up after 11am. The pool is clean and has great views. The main pool on the other had is not so clean this has the swim up bar in. the swim up bar is always full of lets say happy (drunk) people and kids who somehow never need to use the toilet large bladders i guess there is a family paradise just along the prom with slides and activities but here has loads of kids. The beach has pleanty of loungers but alas only one lonely parasol.
We went to spa as we had a $100 voucher to use we got a couple package and had to pay $68 additional which was fine. what we had was good. if you go over the road to Bali Nails and Spa you have a much better massage, Manicure and pedicure for a fraction of the cost and it was far better. it was £5 massage and £15 for the manicure and pedicure including Gel nails.
The place has plenty of positives the staff on a whole are great. the facilities are great . But if you are expecting what you see on the videos the they show on Instagram and Facebook and based on other reviews on here then you will be disappointed. If you lower your expectations to that of a 3 star place they you will be happy
Also for some reason the General manager reserves a table at the bar most nights so he's priorities are the guests.
Staff greet you and treat you like royalty – always smiling and nothing is too much trouble. We say a special thank you to the following staff who, over the years, have become our friends and to the new staff who looked after us so well – Senni, Sibang, Suda, Widia, Yeni, Apriliani, Adi Mudita, Krisna, Dwi Mahayani, Agung Sulasih, Arisanti, Poto Bagus and Suni from the Thalasso Spa.
We stayed in a newly renovated room which was very comfortable and tastefully furnished – an espresso coffeemaker is also included. The room now has a separate toilet, freestanding shower and bath and new tiled flooring. Unfortunately, there is still a lack of storage space but that’s only minor in the scheme of things. Housekeeping maintain the room beautifully with fresh towels twice a day and renew the toiletries and refill the minibar as needed.
The breakfasts are truly amazing with so many different choices, fresh fruit juices, fruit, Indian, Chinese and the usual eggs etc.
We ate at Bumbu Delhi, Ibu Kitchen, Jukung, Grand Café and the Rama Stage. A wonderful variety and well prepared.
Obviously, nothing is perfect, and we did have some problems, which we conveyed to management for actioning. Nothing is ideal but if you dwell on the not so good things you won’t enjoy the really good things.
In the near future there are going to be more changes to the Grand Mirage and we look forward to checking them out for our ninth visit next year.
