This guest house is extremely shabby and run down. Missing lightbulb, damp, smelly hallway and small, uncomfortable bed. The woman who was running the place on behalf of the proprietor was very kind and friendly, and gave us good advice about what to see in the area, but.........sorry, but it is a bit of a dump.

Proprietor very friendly and welcoming in spite of mix up over our arrival time. Entrance and hallway quite shabby and in need of some refurbish and decoration. Room was comfortable and clean though a bit tired. We had no electric on one side of the room; no kettle or bedside lights working! TV was perched very high on the wall... More

We had a spacious and comfortable room. Breakfast was very good and vegetarian breakfast was available. The host was welcoming and full of helpful advice. Just a few little maintenance niggles - for example our shower door didn't fit properly.

This is a difficult review to write. The proprietor was such a helpful, pleasant young man and very knowledgeable about the environment and things to do and see, but some of the facilities in the building are in need of refurbishment. The entrance hall is cold and feels a bit damp and there are several flights of stairs to reach... More

We're have just returned from a wonderful week at the Birnam Guest House. Adrian and Louise were fabulous hosts with a wealth of knowledge of local walks, where to see wildlife and where best to eat locally. Breakfasts were a particular treat with venison sausages on offer for those who wanted a real 'taste of Scotland'. Our children, who tend... More

Host was really friendly and full scottish breakfast was excellent. We had a very comfortable room which overlooked the village of Birnam. The guest house was nice and peaceful and there are lots of things to do nearby like walks in the woods and lovely coffee shops. Would definitely come back to stay at Birnam Guest House.
