Just returned from a 2 night stay at the hotel. This hotel could have everything going for it, lovely wood panelling , baronial type premises. What it lacks is a thorough refurb and re decorating. Lovely brasses in door rooms that could do with cleaning up and polishing. That aside my wife and I had a nice room ( 102)...

Found this hotel on a website and the pictures looked great, not what we found at all. The room, 201, was damp and miserable with thick dust on the carpet in the corners, dirty marks and mould on the back of the curtains and mildew in the wallpaper of the bathroom, non of the furniture matched and the bed was...

The room we were given initially smelled awful, of stale dampness, and was a dingy room in need of redecorating. After asking to be changed we were given a new room on the top floor which was much better, although the bathroom was a bit shabby. The place is a bit strange, it felt and sounded like we were the...

Looks great from the outside. In a lovely village. But very tired decor, lumpy beds, hard pillows, grubby walls and bathroom. There isn't a lot of choice in the area and this is one I wouldnt bother with. It wasnt expensive but thats no excuse for dirt,

I recently stayed in the Birnam Hotel with a friend when we were at a wedding reception in Birnam. Although the location of the hotel was absolutely perfect for the wedding venue (the Birnam Arts Centre), we encountered several problems with the hotel itself. On arrival at the hotel, we were given a cold reception by the person behind the...

Reasonably friendly staff, big enough room however parts of it where absolutely filthy as per photos,I would say I did get a reasonable deal on the room at short notice through booking .com. The whole place could do with a deep clean to be honest, but I would stay again,we ate at the adjoining inn which was fine. Room was £65 with...

Really good value Hotel in a remote part of Scotland. Staff were friendly and the food was excellent value for money. We had dinner in the hotel bar and the selection of food good and the quality of the food was excellent. Parts of the hotel were needing updating, but that is the character of the hotel. I would recommend...

This hotel says its dog friendly, but the only place I was allowed to eat with my dog was in the corner of the very busy, small inn bar. When we visited it was full of noisy bikers watching football on a large screen TV. Needless, to say we did not stay, but walked into Dunkeld and eat at The...
