This was the most relaxing, unwinding week of my entire life. Many reviews mention nothing to do in the area, exactly!!! That's what I wanted! I did everything on premises, the chocolate tour, the coffee tour, the bird watching tour at 6am, and the evening tour, and of course yoga. All were great except the night tour, we saw hardly any wildlife. The morning bird tour ended up being private! I was the only one. She found so many birds and a sloth that just woke up... she put my phone camera in the telescope and I have the most incredible pictures of so many birds! I also had a massage right on my front porch with hummingbirds all around me, heaven!!! These bungalows are very private, I couldn't see anyone walking by. I sat in my hammock and read 50% of the time. The

Wonderful! From check in, to meals, to tours, to spa treatments, and listening and watching it rain! Ireland and David provided excellent services. Rainforest Experience Spa was the best I’ve had! I would recommend this to anyone who loves nature!

We travel very frequently and were blown away by our stay at Chachagua. We stayed in one of the master bungalows which was incredibly spacious (largest hotel bathroom I’ve ever experienced) and a large deck with a hammock and couch. Each of the bungalows are very secluded in the rainforest, and it was so special to wake up to the sounds of light rain and wildlife. We heard howler monkeys in the morning and often saw an agouti running around the property. The nature tour of the reserve with David was also lovely. We saw the incredible ceiba tree and waterfall and he pointed out a toucan and monkeys. Also a huge shoutout to Brayan and Arlin for taking such great care of us. The staff here truly went above and beyond and were some of the kindest people. 11/10 service. Food and

The staff made this a very special stay. They were so friendly and put up with my Attempts at Spanish. The room was very secluded and quiet and we sat out on the deck in the morning for coffee and listened to the birds. It was worth the drive into this little bit of paradise.

Gorgeous hotel, with marvelous well cared gardens and lovely hot springs. We stayed in the 2 bedroom villa with plunge pool which was very nice, two beautiful rooms, two bathrooms (one of them with an open air shower) and a big deck with the pool. The service was awesome, with lots of amenities. Dinner with good options and tasty food and drinks. Breakfast was also very good, although I would have preferred buffet. The hotel is a little distant from everything but it's really good place to rest and enjoy nature. This should be a 5 star hotel, not a 4 star!

STUNNING. Be warned, when you first drive up to the property, down a gravel road, you may question if you are in the right place or the website is pure trickery. Don't turn around. The reception and entrance are deceiving and this place is magical. They have managed to blend in with the Rainforest perfectly. The bungalows hide within the surrounds; not disrupt. The hot springs are magical and the paths around the property no words can decscribe. Nature at its best. We would just stop and take it all in at random times because the beauty was so overwhelming. The property was fully booked but didn't feel like it. Probably because many people do tours in La Fortuna during the day, which is about at 25 minute drive from the hotel. It's 100% worth making this your homebase

We’re just finishing a 5-night stay at Chachagua and it was the perfect hotel in the rainforest, near La Fortuna/Arenal. Even though the hotel was fully booked, it didn’t feel crowded at all. Our family of three stayed in a bungalow which was sufficiently spacious and tastefully decorated to match the local surroundings. The beds and linens were super comfortable and we slept like babies every night while listening to the natural sounds of rain, frogs and the occasional howler monkey. The bathroom was also very spacious, particularly the rainfall shower. We spent a lot of time soaking in the hot spring pools and took numerous plunges down the slide into the river (pretty thrilling). We also enjoyed the poolside restaurant which is more casual and great for lunch or an

Thank you for your review, polomarco23! We're delighted to hear about your magical stay at Chachagua Rainforest Hotel. It's great to know that despite being fully booked, the hotel didn't feel crowded. We're glad you enjoyed the spacious and tastefully decorated bungalow, as well as the comfortable beds and linens. It must have been incredible to fall asleep to the sounds of rain and wildlife. The facilities, including the hot spring pools and slide, sound like so much fun. We're glad you enjoyed the food at the poolside and formal restaurants, and found the service to be courteous, friendly, and professional. The on-site chocolate and coffee tour with knowledgeable guide Neny sounds fascinating. It's also good to know that the hotel's remote location is still easily accessible for activities in La Fortuna. We appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back soon!

My husband and two teenage boys (17 and 19) recently stayed at this resort for 5 nights. The best part about this hotel is you truly get to experience the rain forest. We stayed in the 2-bedroom suites. It was perfect for our family. My husband and I had our own bedroom and bathroom and so did our boys. We had an outdoor shower in our bathroom. Sounds nice, but I did not like it. It made the whole bathroom so hot and humid like it was outside. Also, bugs and critters got into our bathroom. We had a nice outdoor area to sit in behind our rooms with a little private pool. This was nice as there is not a lot of other places around the resort to sit and enjoy. Some things that I brought that were very helpful were indoor clothesline and battery powered fans. We hung or wet and

Thank you for your review, KC2833! We appreciate the detailed feedback about your stay at Chachagua Rainforest Hotel. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the 2-bedroom suites and the outdoor area with a private pool. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the outdoor shower and the bugs in the bathroom. However, we are glad that the service provided by our staff, including the tour guides and the maids, exceeded your expectations. We appreciate your recommendation about taking dramine for motion sickness. We value your suggestions regarding the limited dining options and the cost of meals. We hope you had a memorable experience on the Night Hike and Coffee and Cocoa tours. Thank you for choosing our hotel and we hope to welcome you back in the future.

My wife and I arrived here two days after our wedding to a warm welcome and tour by Lorenzo that ended with delicious complimentary drinks. We had the absolutely best time here at Chachagua! The grounds are spectacular, you are quite literally in the middle of a rainforest. There is so much wildlife to see, we did all 3 excursions and loved all of them (Neny was an amazing tour guide and David was so nice, and both were so knowledgeable). We saw so many different kinds of birds, including toucans, on the grounds. They were so exciting to hear and see, along with the howler monkeys of course! The hot springs were so relaxing (and Dina was very welcoming and made great drinks). We also loved the slide into the river. All of the staff were SO nice! Special shout out to Manuel,

Definintely a Eco Jungle experience. Located on top of a mountain, right in the middle of a rainforest. Bungalows were great, the outside patio was used every morning and night by our party, Howling Monkeys, exotic birds and other animals can be seen on property, bc it really is in the Rainforest. Staff exceptionally friendly, Breakfast was actually delicious. Dinner was very good, I did not have lunch there but my kids said it was very good. As, I said it is on top of the mountain, so its a long, winding road with lots of curves, dips and stops; daughter got sick on the drive there ( motion sickness), but it was well worth it ( my daughter agrees). Definitely , need a car bc it is a long drive and about 25 minutes from La Fortuna ( the tourist town near the Volcano). Only
