B&B. It was a motel really. room was very comfortable, large with good facilities. Breakfast was slow and waiters were polite but not very good. Staff were friendly. Would I stay there again, probably but wouldn't eat there. We found a good pub near the Abbey that had really nice beer and food.

I have had lunch at the George on many occasions and it is normally excellent. Unfortunately today was an exception. I usually lunch at the George following a walk up to the Devils Pulpit and today chose the two course lunch. The garlic mushrooms to start were delicious however the main course was very disappointing. I chose the Ham and...

Visited for one night. It's essentially an old large pub with rooms attached at the rear. Rooms like 1970s design. Decor is of the era. But everything was clean and tidy and in no way tired Excellent staff both on front desk, at breakfast and at the bar in the evening. Good breakfast cooked to order Good parking and good...

My partner and I stay here once a year on our way to Ireland. It is a convenient half way spot for us and after being there and made so welcome the first time we have just kept coming back. It is a huge plus being able to find somewhere where we can take our dog. The room is large,...

It may be on a main road, but you would never know! The atmosphere is friendly and the food exceptional. Fried bread for breakfast was a real treat. Rooms are cosy and away from the road - only the local cockerel breaks the early morning calm. This was not our first visit and will not be our last.

We have used the Royal George for weekends away; Sunday lunch with friends & family and just simply dropped in for a coffee or a drink and a chat with the owners Sammie and James. We have always come away feeling so much more relaxed than when we got there! The ambience is sublime, the service is always attentive but...

Seven of us booked a table for Sunday lunch - we love coming here for the ambiance and good food - at a most reasonable price. Choice was good as usual. The entrance to the hotel is a friendly lobby with lots of local information . Then there is the lounge where one can order from the bar and enjoy...

The Wye Valley is a fantatstic place for walks and places of interest, and The Royal George is a welcome retreat at the end of a long day of rambling. Your first impression is that the decor is a little dated, yet closer inspection will tell you that it is well maintained and cared for. The bedrooms are 'Garden Rooms',...

I was using the hotel for business and found this lovely hotel. The staff were very helpful. I would definitely recommend. this hotel. Breakfast was superb. Hotel however looks a little tired in certain areas but overall I would recommend if looking for a quiet hotel.

We stayed for two nights at the hotel whilst going to Chepstow races for the Welsh Grand National and it was the perfect location, only a 10mins drive to the course. The hotel was very comfortable, the staff were welcoming and couldn't do enough for you, (especially Nicky and Sue) and the food was delicious. The rooms were warm and...
