We went on the cheetah tracking and addo elephant 3 night package trip which included tours, accommodation and food. We were completely looked after from pick-up to drop-off. John (the owner) restricts the cheetah tracking and addo tour to 2-4 people, and maximum of 6 people if there is a group. There was just the two of us (myself and...

Just don't spend your money at Orange Backpackers. I booked for 2 nights but left after one. This is why: - The entrance and the reception is disgusting. On the floor there is a carpet which is there for too many years without any cleaning. It is brownish but the question is if that's it's original color. Several dogs are...

I am sorry to hear that you do not like animals. I fail to see why you would visit a national park then..... I do not have the heart to break the swallows nest down as they have been coming back to us for around 6 years. They fledge around 4 babies a year. The dogs are part of our...

As many others here I can definitely say that the hostel is over its best times and not worth its money. Don't be fooled by the pictures, the outdoor areas and the community kitchen do not look like that anymore at all. First, note that the claims on their website are simply wrong: no free breakfast, no safe, no transport...

Firstly may I apologize for the misunderstanding regarding the "Free transport" We have never offered free transport to Scotia safaris as they are a private reserve around 60km from us. They do offer a shuttle one their 1/2 day tour @R500 per person. Strange you should complain about the room as you booked a dorm and we upgraded you for...

Within 4 minutes of Addo Elephant Park, this backpackers is ideally situated! I stayed in one of the double rooms, which was spacious, clean and quiet. It is a little bit dated, but it added to the rustic appeal of the place! The garden is lovely, and the backpackers offers various activities. Two down sides: 1) there is no indoor...

Not sure how to sum up just how great this backpackers is in 200 words. I was looking for somewhere to study for a week on a break from Cape Town where I could relax, hang out with nice people, see some wildlife and the milky way... turns out this place fulfilled every box and more. It manages to be...

I stayed two nights in a dorm located in a small hut just outside the main building. It is basic but clean, confortable and warm even in winter. The hostel offers a free and delicious breakfast, which is most enjoyable. I took the full day addo tour with Bryan. He is a young and passionate guide who cares a lot...

Came here for two nights over my birthday weekend to go to addo elephant park and was a little disappointed. This place needs to be updated and have a good clean. Although the double room was huge with a double and two singles- the bathroom was pretty awful, cold and smelly. It was also low season so there were only...

I stayed in the private room with my own bathroom attached for two nights. The accommodation that OE did for me made my trip as memorable as it was and couldn't of done it without them. I paid for the shuttle from the airport and even though the plane ran into a slight 10-15 min delay and was slightly late...

I had a good time at this backpackers. I stayed with 2 friends and we had a little hut just to ourselves with a double and a single bed and with our own bathroom. the outside showers were great but the mechanism of switching on the gas etc took a little while to understand. the hostel is quite spread out...

This place might look a bit old, and although I maybe would have prefered something a bit more modern, the countryside vibe this place has really got me. Above that, the staff is one of the best I've expierenced in hostels. John is a real friendly guy and his son Josh showed us around town on what seemed like a...
