Waking up to the sounds of parrots, pigeons, and peacocks all joined in birdsong in the majestic neem tree in the central courtyard. We were there with the extended family and had 4 rooms and the fort too ourselves. If you want to know what it feels like/ felt like being the king of the castle, Fort Barli fits the bill. Large rooms, each one with an individuality that makes them unique, managed by a lovely couple that makes you feel at home with super hospitality and wonderful local authentic Rajasthani food- from Lal Maas, Gatta Ki Kari, and Daal Bati Churma. A relaxing break from the restrictions of COVID, an opportunity to put one's feet up, grab a good book and unwind. While it is slightly of the beaten track was a comfortable drive from Gurgaon - for those not up to the drive you can fly into Kishangarh and the hotel will fetch you. A group of 2-3 families can effectively have the place to themselves. If you are looking for a break and find your inner Royalty- this place comes highly recommended.

From the fort building, room furniture to food, people and surrounding area- the whole place had not one dissonant note. We were looking for a safe place to get away from the 'locked-in' period which was not a big hotel. Went there with my brothers family for 4 nights which included people of all age groups - my elderly mother as well as our young kids and each one of us had a lovely time. Choosing the room itself was a fort exploration exercise, great fun for the kids ! The central courtyard is so pretty with the massive neem tree with constant bird activity and the large swing- we spent most our time there ! We had a short bonfire every night and the massage lady was awesome but there is nothing much to do outside and for us it was a huge positive - we spent hours painting, listening/singing songs and chatting. Utterly Lovely !

Not so much a room, but a suite. Characterful building beautiful furniture and tastefully appointed. Really good facilities. Super areas for sitting or drinks all well appointed and interesting. Good authentic food offering options to avoid too much chilli. Took the ox cart ride round village which turned out a much more enjoyable experience than expected- good guide. Wonderful Heritage Hotel - our second visit - hope to return - unreservedly recommend

This is more of a family home converted to small boutique hotel. Run by 2 brothers, direct descendants of the builder of the fort and the 17th generation of their family to live here there is genuine history here. The pride in the history is reflected in the care taken by the brothers to ensure guests have an enjoyable and restful stay. The conversion to hotel has been effected with minimal alterations to the structure of the hotel which does mean some awkward approaches to rooms. Our room, was huge with multiple areas and a modern bathroom with a large walk in shower. It's location is rural, very much off the beaten track. Whether you consider that a positive or negative is a matter for your own mindset; one thing's for sure though, you wont be going out anywhere for dinner. The pool area is lovely and the grounds are beautifully presented. Staff are attentive. One thing to vote is Wifi doesn't work in rooms, only really in reception. When you see the thickness of the walls you ll understand why. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable stay in a charming heritage property.

One of the most unique lodging experiences in India. Our family had the Queens and Kings rooms. Dinner was family style servings on our table and the staff treated us like royalty! Beautiful views and wonderful family history shared on the property tour.
