The owner is very nice, very willing to please. I was given a nice room with air conditioning and a fan. It was simple fare, but perfect for me. The internet was a bit slow, and because of the c-19 pandemic, I was the only client she had. No meals available, kitchen and bar are closed. She made me a cup of instant coffee at 7 AM on request.
Spent a week here with hubby while working with local NGO. Clean, comfortable, basic hotel center of town. Nice courtyard to relax with good WiFi. No ATM here! The only one is about a mile away at gas station. Food only available upon request. I never even knew food was available although I did see some people eating. Not many restaurants in this town. Small bar and store attached. Store has nice selection of cosmetics and eclectic collection of home goods - plastic ware, bras, buttons and zippers. Room is comfortable and clean. Cold shower but it's hot here so no big deal. Patio with rockers. Friendly, responsive staff
A lovely hotel, close to amenities and local excursions. We shared a twin room, which had an ensuite with a large shower. This worked out at the same price as a dorm bed elsewhere. There were plenty of fans. The food in the restaurant was very cheap and very good. The owner was lovely and as helpful as you could hope for. Overall, fantastic value and a great place to base yourself, even as budget travellers (which we were).
Hotel is on the main street, in centre of town. Not much English spoken, but everyone very pleasant even with our bad spanish skills.Only 2 blocks from central park and the bus stop.Wi-fi in public areas, and a little table and chairs outside the room. Room was clean, but basic, it was quiet for sleeping. The restaurant serves good food, at reasonable prices. Nothing much to do in Altagracia, so we only stayed 2 nights.
I’ve stayed at Hotel Central many times over the years and always with a group between 12-20. It’s a fantastic value and has a lovely staff. They work a deal for us including breakfast, lunch, and dinner and it’s always very good food. The rooms are clean and basic. It’s a great central location to explore all of Ometepe. They also have a secure parking area with nighttime security
Basic room and bathroom not really clean. We've tried to have dinner after a long trekking session but the restaurant is close in August. if you get satisfied with less that could suit your needs since it's low budget hotel
As we arrive to Altagracia and did not have a hotel, we visited two different possibilities but this hotel offered us the most convenient price with A/C accommodation and quite. I do recommend this hotel for those who are looking for hotel with nice garden and natural felling! Highly recommended!
I was desperate to change out of my hospedaje and this hotel offered me a real good price for a single room with attached bathroom and breakfast. The hotel is very quiet and spacious, rooms were equipped with fan and tv. The individual verandas of the cabin-like rooms all had their own hammock.
It was dark and we randomly got off the bus and found this place. There were 4 of us and we stayed in a room with 3 beds. They gave us an extra fan and towel. They gave us a lot of directions for the buses, where things were, etc. Very helpful. Breakfast was decent and inexpensive. I recommend. They even let me friend keep his bags in another room free of charge as he was hiking up one of the volcanoes.
The staff here are like untrained sheep. Absolutely pathetic, like hiring a blind man to fly a plane. Stayed here 4 night and the main guy in the bar takes a minimum of 50 minutes to do the most basic tasks. He will also stand and fiddle with POINTLESS paperwork when he has 4 customers eager to buy a cold beer or water. He should be fired on the spot, he makes the whole place have a bad vibe. He often forgets orders and keeps forgetting to deliver laundry or whatever it is you asked him. The food here should be avoided at all costs. Possibly the worst sandwich I have eaten in my life, with what felt like 20 kilos of mayo on the top AND hidden under the eggs. The eggs were overcooked and the ham was worse than spam. My pasta dish was enormously average and the less said about the slimy, greasy omelette for breakfast with limp french fries, the better. The room was ok, for the price. That was the only positive. The french canadian owner lady was nice enough but you get the feeling she should be kicking back somewhere in a couch.…
