We loved staying at Casa Moreno during our weekend trip to Ometepe! The rooms were clean and nice. The rooms we were in had fans, no ac. They made us breakfast in the morning, a typical nica breakfast of plantains, eggs, and gallo pinto. The location is in a good spot, about a 5 minute walk to the center of Mayagalpa. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We loved staying here!

Perfect location to discover Ometepe. Helpful crew and fine rooms. Restaurants are nearby. You can have your breakfast in the garden or on the porch. They organized a hike to our of the volcanos. Good WiFi connection.

I definitely recommend staying at this hostel. It’s the perfect place to start the hikes for the volcanos or rent a scooter to explore the rest of the island or to just catch a bus. You can easily walk here from the ferry. I enjoyed my stay and the people working here were so helpful and kind. You get 5 options to pick for breakfast and fresh coffee. The dorms are simple with a few fans in it and a separated shower and toilet in the room. It’s all you really need. You can even order food and smoothies to be delivered to you for dinner. I hurt my ankle so I had to stay a few extra days sitting around in the hammocks. One of the guys even took me to two different hospitals and helped me see the doctors. I’m super lucky to have met such nice people. Thank you so much!

This is my third visit to Casa Moreno. When I walked in the door, they not only recognized me from the year before, but also brought forth a cane I had left there. They had saved it for me. I took a private room this time. It was very comfortable and clean. As a 70 year old with a cane, I can no longer deal with a top bunk in a dormitory. The free morning coffee is a treat, the hammocks classic and comfy, and the roof observation deck gives one a magnificent view of both Moyogalpa and Volcan Concepcion. Downtown is only a few blocks away, and there are many choices in bars and restaurants. For myself, I see no reason to consider another hostel while in Moyogalpa.

I really loved staying in Casa Moreno. They helped me planning my trip on the island very well. The contacts they have for scooter rental are great. Price is good and the scooters are perfect. I asked so many questions and they ALWAYS answered with a smile. Nothing was too much to ask. I booked a massage as well which I got in my room and I would really recommend. Rooms are basic but very clean (new sheets and towel EVERY day). Good value for money. I stayed in a private with ac, the ac was not really necessary this time of the year. Hardly used it. Thanks for making me want to stay longer on the island.

Very nice and helpfull staff. The rooms are old, very warm and depressing. The bed is squaking a lot and the sink broke almost of the wall. Although it was a clean room. They have a nice terras with hammoks were you can relax after climbing a vulcano.

Thank you Sr for taking the time and posting a comment in all the webpages you could do it! I talked to my team and they do not recall you being unhappy or expressing any unhappy comment. After reading your comment i did myself search in the room what you you discribe about our room and I did not find it. Now when you say ¨The room was very warm and depressing¨ it could have been warm the nights you stayed at Casa Moreno. However that is the country weather so, every single room in the country without A/C is warm not only our rooms.¨Depressing¨ Casa Moreno has a colonial desing that is what it makes it very special and unique in town. If you did not like that, you have all the rights to dislike what other like. I am sorry we fail on you and I hope you enjoyed the rest of you trip Juan Barrios

I stayed in casa moreno for 3 nights and i was surprised in a really positive way! The service is amazing: highly professional and totally friendly. I felt more like in a hotel than in a hostel, everything was clean and tidy. The only thing that we didn't expect was that the kitchen is just for the staff, but there's a restaurant 5 metres from the hostel where you can eat cheaply and good. We also loved the roof-deck on the third floor from which you can enjoy an amazing view on one of the volcanos and good wifi. Really recommandable!

We spent 4 nights here in a private room with private bath. It was very beautiful and the rooms were clean and very decent. They have a rooftop area to sit and hammocks and chairs in multiple locations. They also offer free coffee in the mornings. The location was great - just a short walk to the main street. The staff was very friendly and spent a significant amount of time explaining various activities and their prices to us, as well as providing info about the area. They offer tours from the hostel, and offer motorbike and scooter rentals as well, through Dinarte`s Rentals, which was an excellent service. Overall, a wonderful place to stay.

There is no limit to their helpfullness. They helped us with taxi's, scooter rent, finding hotels in other parts of nicaragua and a tour to the conception vulcano. Thank you for a great time! Hope to see you again!

Hôtel Casa Moreno is a decent place to stay: functional and clean beds and showers. Nice common places with great view. The great added value of casa Moreno is advices from its staff. Thanks to them we could have: -A nice, honnest, effective company to rent scooters -A tour with a nice guide in Volcano Maderas -A taxi for San Jorge to San Juan Del Sur at 6:30pm
