We had a perfect time at hostel Papagayo. The place is not perfectly equipped, but staying with this local family is worth much more. We stayed here for 3 nights and had a really good experience. Breakfast included and they’ll help you with whatever you need!

I don't know how this hostel got such good reviews. I stayed there in February 2019 in the dorm. As tourism didn't get yet to a normal Leven in Nicaragua it was a great spot to meet people because the hostel was almost fully booked. The dorm was way too small for 7 beds, the bathrooma were okay. Common areas were nothing special at all. Hosts were nice. It was fine for one night as I didn't want to take the bus to the other side of the island at the same day but would definitely not stay there longer. If you want to stay in Moyogalpa and don't mind if you want meet a lot of people go to Casa Mauro instead. It's sich a lovely place, the dorm is huge and I got there the best shower in Nicaragua so far. The hosts are amazing, so lovely.

This place was the perfect place to stay for a few days around Ometepe. The hosts were friendly as and great craic too. The breakfast and coffees delicious, and the kitchens there to use. They helped sort out everything I needed for the weekend, like a scooter and a legendary guide Luiz, to climb Concepción at decent prices. Ideal.

Rented 3 motorcycles to explore the island. After an hour my friends bike just stopped working. Luckely my friend knew a lot about bikes and checked the usual stuff that breaks. He found that the bike completely lacked filter so that dirt and water can come in to the engine. At the shop they told us that they do that to all the bikes, which is just begging for malfunction. They then accused us of crossing rivers, we did NOT, and that we should pay them for the bike. When we refused they told us to try to call our insurance companies to get money from them. When we refused they told us that if we have them 10 dollars each we would get our passport back. DO NOT COME HERE!!!

Very pleased with my stay at Papagayo. I firstly arrived not having booked anything and was immediately welcomed by the owner. The rooms are of decent size and equipped with fans, make sure to ask if you need flat sheets as they do not put them on the beds. I was offered a hike with Luis up on the Concepción volcano which was amazing! Breakfast is really good and changes up every morning. Definitely recommend the stay!

Great place and amazing staff! Helped us arrange two day trips around the island for a reasonable price and was very knowledgeable. Also helped arrange a doctor for my friend who needed to have stiches removed.

Super friendly family and homestay. Great location and clean rooms, flawless wifi. The host made sure we felt right at home. Unbeatable value. Also, an amazing local BBQ place right next door for the best dinner we’ve had all month. Minutes from Punta Jesus Maria for sunset!
