Boss really impolite! We had no water no power and no Internet... just ask them to be a bit comercial about it but no way!!! look like it was all my fault.... he was so irrespect and so impolite (talking bad about my mom) I. really don't recommend it!!!
This is a warm and friendly hostel a few blocks away from the center in a quiet neighbourhood. There are both private and dorm rooms. There is a central courtyard with plenty of hammocks for everyone. There is also a front verandah to enjoy. It’s run by a wonderful multi generational family. The price includes coffee a hearty breakfast of either Nicaraguan typical food or pancakes and fruit. I can’t say enough about the wonderful family who run it. They will make you feel comfortable and help in any way they can. We have been here for four nights and will spend a few more next week we like it so much!
Hands down to the best hostel with the best hammocks in Nicaragua. Get to know Coco,Mayala, Carlitos, and the dogs Lasi and Blanca. They are very friendly and will make your stay better. Only bad thing I can point out is that The shower doesn't have power and flows everywhere. If you are staying in Moyogalpa, stay here. The hosts will ease hikes to the volcano, scooter rental at the same price as local tour agencies.
You'll live in Coco and her family's house, you feel like you're a part of them and very independant. Also, the breakfast and advice were perfect! We had a big issue with a scooter renter, (he took one of our passeports) without Coco we would have been in great trouble, she was more than helpful and saved our trip. Very grateful even 2 years later !!!
This place is an absolute gem, absolutely 0 complaints whatsoever. The family is super nice and accommodating and I felt right at home from the minute I walked in. The place is spotless inside and out and has a very relaxed and comfortable vibe. The garden where you eat is spacious and dotted with hammocks, the dorm room is clean and comfortable and an excellent value for what you get ($7 including HUGE delicious breakfast of your choice included - eggs, pancakes, nica breakfast etc). But the thing that makes this place stand out is the unbelievably amazing hosts. They are willing to go above and beyond to help you in any way possible. Mayala sorted me out with a scooter for a really good price and was super hospitable in every way. She cooked me dinner one night which was delicious (and she accommodated all my dietary preferences with no hesitation). No problem when I asked to keep a few items in the fridge or even do some laundry. My friend and I didn’t take advantage of their other services but it seems like they offer everything and at a fair deal. An excellent place to base yourself for exploring the island and close to the ferry dock, bars, restaurants as well. Wouldn’t recommend anywhere else!…
Mayala and her family made me feel so welcome and helped me in every way possible. The rooms are very basic but have everything you need. But it really was the service and people there that made it so special. I'll never forger this hostel
Had a great stay here with absolutely no complaints. Pros: - Cheap ($7 for dorms, $15 for privates, w/ ensuite baths) - Spotless (rooms and the whole property) - Excellent service (the staff were really helpful and nice) - Spacious outdoor areas with comfortable seating (hammocks in the garden, rocking chairs on the terrace) - Good location (maybe 1 km or so from the pier, and within walking distance to restaurants and bars) - Easy to book activities/rent motorbikes through the hostel Just a really great place overall, in every way, and I highly recommend staying there.
Mayala is the owner of this hostel and I believe that it is on her and her families property. From the second I arrived she made me feel so welcome, like a mother. The hostel is very basic but has everything you need. The reason why I loved it so much was the hospitality. I was helped with absolutely everything I needed. And Ayala went above and beyond for me. She's there to cook whenever you are hungry, she helped me with cleaning my shoes, and booked my hike for volcano Concepcion with her friend for $15 (cheapest in town) The dormitory was only $7 US per night WITH BREAKFAST!!! Or a twin room for $15 Unbelievably amazing host and I hope you get the chance to experience her lovely hostel
Really good experience, staff are really good and friendly, rooms, bathroom and kitchen are clean, they can help you find (or give you a recommendation) a really good food and cheap if you want. If you want to rest after a good day exploring the island and take the opportunity to see the sunset resting on their hammock is really comfortable and nice.
