Great friendly hostel, very cheap! Free breakfast, great activities provided. Short walk from ferry, island is brilliant we quad biked around the whole island in a day would recommend! $40 for quad bike $10 a night private room

We stayed at casa mauro for 2 nights and were treated great from start to end. Mauro was ready to awnser any of our questions and help out wherever he could. Even after having a scooter accident we were looked after insted of handling the business aspects first (scooter repair). We really enjoyed our stay.

Stayed there only one night before our ferry left but wish we could stay longer. The hosts are so lovely, they even got up early to make coffee for us at 6am. When I asked for milk they heated it as well and when we asked if the tap water is drinkable they brought us a cold bottle of water without charging anything. Stayed in the dorm which was really nice too, every bed has his own locker and fan and the bathroom was good as well. Lots of hammocks to hang out and just a short walk to the center of Moyogalpa. Would definitely stay here again!

We absolutely loved our stay at Casa Mauro. Location is great, super close to the port, supermarkets and restaurants. Our room was spotlessly clean and the bed very comfortable. They have a great kitchen, excellent wifi, offer a great breakfast and have awesome hammocks in the garden. The hosts are so lovely and really make you feel at home/will do anything to make your stay on Ometepe enjoyable!

Mauro and his wonderful family were the perfect welcome to the island of Ometepe. It’s an ideal base from which to explore and he provides all the inside info on how to do it best. The room was clean, spacious, and breezy. The breakfast delicious. I could not recommend a stay here more.

Very good experience. All the people were absolutely helpful, kind and nice. Rooms are spacious, clean and great. Location is close to the harbor, you can walk it in 5 minutes, just go left the main road. Prices great. I must recommend this, I would go there again. Mauro is amazing person, nice, helpful, funny guy and others as well. I wish to see them again. And breakfast, if you order was delicious. Well done, Casa Mauro!

The people who work here are lovely, very friendly and helpful! I appreciated them very much. The place itself is well kept, not fancy but basic and convenient to do things on the island. I was able to easily walk to the port, maybe 5 minutes, for lunch and dinner. Great value!

Was recommended this place to stay and it really lived up to expectations! Such a chilled out vibe and really friendly owners and staff, nothing is too much of an ask :) rooms were basic but clean, perfect for getting a good nights sleep! Would stay again!!

Absolutely unbelievable place! Owned by locals. They tell you “welcome home” when you arrive. Very professional and friendly staff. Pristine clean! Cold beer and water in fridge at market price. Free laundry. Great value! All they need is a pool!

Really amazing hostel on Ometepe. The owner, Mauro and his mom Maria were just so warm and welcoming. They are hardworking people and are always there to help the customers. We extended our stay because this place was excellent. They also provided a tutu to bring us to the ferry. They clean our room when we ask. Also they have laundry services for a fee and there is a fridge outside with beer and water that are well priced. Also have a kitchen for you to use. The front entrance have hammocks and it is definitively THE place where we hang and relax with our friends. They also have a smoker area to not disturb the non smokers guests. Great gem on Ometepe and family owned. Will definitively come back to see them again. When you stay here, talk to them and ask them to tell you the hostel's story because it is quite an awesome story coming from nothing.…
