We stayed here on our way further north. It is in a beautiful location. The hosts and their family were very welcoming - as was the dog! Sally couldn't do enough for us. She offered crockery, cutlery etc if we wanted to have a takeaway/picnic in our room - which we did. Breakfast the following morning was beautifully cooked and...

A brilliant overnight stop to break up our journey to Scotland. The welcome was lovely and the room very big and very comfortable. The guest house is close to Moffat which has a choice of eating places. The dining area had stunning views. Breakfast was excellent with a good selection, good coffee and toast. The Munro breakfast cooked to order...

Marchbankwood house is ideally situated for a stop-over when travelling north or south passing Moffat. Longer stays are also possible as the general area has many walks and local amenities to visit. Without a doubt the most important reason for visiting Marchbankwood House is the welcome provided by Sally and also Charlie. Charlie is a very pleasant dog who makes...

We were almost at the end of our UK trip when we spent just one night at Marchbankwood. I wish we could have stayed longer. Beautiful home with character. Friendly host and a very friendly dog that just wants to play. The room was large and the bed very comfortable. Ours had a private bath with both a shower and...

Stayed overnight on our way to Glencoe. A lovely, friendly, warm welcome from the owner. The owners were knowledgeable of the local area and able to recommend a good take-away, in addition providing plates and cutlery on our return. Comfortable, well appointed room and a lovely breakfast in the morning setting us up for the onward journey.

We booked to stay here for 2 nights whilst attending a wedding at nearby Auchen Castle. We had a very warm welcome from Sally, her two adorable children and Charlie the dog. This is a lovely big house in a very quiet spot with beautiful views. Sally was an excellent host for us and nothing was too much trouble for...

Sally and Alistair and Charlie (their dog) and their children are friendly and welcoming and the house is wonderful. Our room was huge with an equally huge bed and roomy bathroom. It felt very luxurious after a rather tatty cottage on Isle of Mull. The view over the countryside is great. You can walk to the village pub in about...

We stayed here on the way to Aberdeen. A lovely house in a quiet setting. Warmly welcomed by Sally and her dog Charlie, the room was spacious and nicely decorated with large windows overlooking the garden. A large comfortable bed. Wifi.
