We were there for a family wedding and the Red Lion was close to the venue. Although the Red Lion was our second choice, our first was fully booked, we were delighted with our second choice! We had a lovely lunch there before heading off to the wedding, a delightful nights stay and a fabulous breakfast on the Sunday morning....

Quite a local for us; we have been coming here for years. The food is always sublime and the puddings to die for! What impresses me the most is that the staff are well trained if you are not able to consume gluten. Case in point, with a dear friend. She was able to enjoy fish and chips for the...

So good we are returning soon. Breakfast was superb, we didn't manage dinner this time but are certainly going to have dinner on our next visit which is soon. Bedroom was spotless and the bathroom too and lovely garden with table and chairs to sit and have a beer or two.

The Red Lion is a little off the beaten track but well worth a visit. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable and the pub looks great although I didn't eat there but did enjoy a couple of pints. All the staff were friendly and very accommodating.

Stayed at the Red Lion on three occasions and have always throughly enjoyed it but this weekend it was all a bit slap happy. No olives in the restaurant on Saturday night and cloying attention. No attention at all on Sunday night. After waiting 15 minutes to have our plates removed we left and went back to our room to...

We went here for Sunday dinner and firstly I would like to say the staff were very good and friendly. However my wine glass was dirty with lip marks on the edge and the white wine was warm, the dinner itself was fine but served on cold plates, and the Yorkshire pudding left a lot to be desired, the dessert...

I stayed two nights at this little, but cosy hotel. The pub/hotel must be historic, but it was very clean, and with the best service! The rooms is maybe a little bit expencive, but i had a big room. The pub is very typical English (and that's good for a Norwegian)

My husband and I stayed here at 'The Red Lion' for two nights for joint Birthday celebrations. Very pleasant country inn, although it was a little pricey... Food was very delicious, though they had run out of peas to go with our order at dinner and my husband was not so keen on their Real Ale! Small issue but important...

Came for dinner with friends on Friday 27th June at 19.30 Friendly reception, but very surprised when told they had no steak. Starters and deserts were very expensive and unappealing, so ended up having four mains, plus coffee. Food was distinctly average, fries were poor and peas very overcooked. Had a far better pub meal elsewhere a few days later.

We stayed here for one night and found it a very nice, if not exactly cheap place to stay. The room was large and nicely decorated. Breakfast was good in the pub restaurant and the dinner we had was excellent, with the only minor issue being the quality of the real ale.
