The hotel location is good. Only take less than 5 minute walk to Zhaoping train station(convenient when you need to wake up early and catch the train to see sunrise). Hot water will only available from 5pm to 12am. The room provided tea bags and the hallway got hot water machine. Breakfast is in buffet Chinese style. Basically the rooms...

The hotel is owned by the town or village municipality so it is an economical and no-frills hotel. As in most places in Taiwan, English is not widely used. Don't expect staff to be bilingual. At least this hotel has instructions in English to let you know that hot water is only available starting from 5 p.m.. The hotel is...

We stayed in a room of the old wing with 7 single beds for just over U. S. $100 each night, before peak season. It was rather basic and worn, but less than a 5-minute walk to the Zhaoping train station. The room charge included a buffet breakfast for each guest, and it was quite decent. Rooms in the new...

I was really afraid because the stay wasn't cheap (as Alishan was almost booked out) and after booking I read a lot of bad reviews. In contrast to that I was totally overwhelmed by my nice room (4 people) and the view and the comfortable beds and everything. It was so nice - I even took a bath in the...

Our tour guide for Alishan recommended this hotel to us. We were in doubt as the reviews for this hotel are not a favorable one. However our tour guide finally convinced us to stay at this hotel. Having arrived at this hotel, we found out that the reviews are true. It is an aged hotel, and things seem like falling...

We arrive in Alishan without having booked a place to stay. All recommended Hostels were fully booked and the once we wanted to check out personally instead of calling them, did not bother to entertain us at the reception but continued picking up the phone and having conversations. So we decided to go back to the Tourism Board and give...

The Hotel is located in the forestry reserve, a few minutes walk to a couple trail heads and also one of the cherry blossom view paths. It offers transportation to and from train station and market place etc. [We requested them to pick us up at other spots in the area and they did so.] The counter staff are friendly...

American here who spent one night at the Alishan Gou Hotel. This place is - literally - falling apart. From the porte-cochere in front to the faucets in the bathrooms, this "hotel" is in complete disrepair and is in immediate need of a complete renovation. I've stayed at some of the nastiest youth hostels in Europe, and this place ranks...

I can't even rate it one star man. This "hotel" is totally CMI. When we first arrived in the room, there is a moldy smell. Bearable since we sprayed some of our perfume. The interior of the hotel is as bad as the exterior. Small, dirty and smelly room. Rock hard bed and small toilet. And alisan is considered a...

N23°30'57.42" E120°48'52.25" We stayed in August 2011 for two nights in room 3561 and 2351. We were completely surprised when we read the announcement that the rooms had only hot water between 5pm and 12pm. The last time we had this experience was in a youth hostel in East Berlin before the fall of the wall. So, no morning showers...
