This was my first time camping at Loft mountain for our annual family camping trip. The campground is at the southern end of the park. The sites are well spaced, with lots of grass instead of packed dirt The bathrooms have new tile, new everything! The campground store closes

Great campground and campsite location! Loft Mountain is quite secluded compared to other SNP campgrounds and features heavily wooded sites, bathrooms, showers, a modern camp store, great views of the mountain valleys, and easy access to the Appalachian trail on all three sides.

Yes, the best sites are the walk up sites. If you are arriving on Sunday afternoon, you shouldn’t have any problem getting a site. The earlier you are there the better the selection.

Sorry we did not go in April, we went in September. Weather has been very unpredictable, cold and dreary one day, hot another day. At night it can be quite cool.

In our spot, A40 it was right next to the car. Other spots were a bit farther. I passed on that was quite a ways down the hill.

Are there cabins to rent here or is it just a site for campers and tents?
Camp tent sites the cabins are in another campground called I believe Lewis mountain
