Big Meadows lodge was a unique experience and being able to stay right in the park was very convenient. The room was clean and had been recently updated, however be advised it was a rustic decor. During most of our stay, it was a cloudy, rainy weekend and due to being located at the top of the mountain, there was...

The experience at Big Meadows is not quite as professional as you might hope for, but it is definitely "homey". First off the heat in our "traditional" (read not redecorated in a while) room was cranked up when we got there. This is often the case, so we were glad there were windows to open. The problem was the dust...

We stayed in the hotel in October. The rooms are quite old, with old fixtures, but everything worked, except we had no hot water in the shower. When I reported this to the staff, they were not very helpful. We ate dinner and breakfast there. See out separate reviews. Breakfast was great. Dinner wasn't.

We enjoy going to the National Park lodges. We love Big Meadow in the Shenandoah. There is good food, excellent evening entertainment, hiking for all levels and skills and time to relax and unwind. The food service is good and nearby. Loved the fireplace and the games.

A friend of mine and I stayed here for two nights the week of Oct 16th. This is a beautiful location, but unfortunately the rooms are in need of a lot of updates. Their computer was down so when we requested a different room than the first one we were given in the lodge itself. To get to that first...

Stayed in an original lodge room, which was very small with wood panelled walls but was cosy and comfortable. It had a spacious bathroom with no shower (though strangely did have complementary shower gel). Best of all was the awesome view of the Shenandoah valley, the peace and quiet and the convenience of staying in the National Park. The on...

Everything was beyond my expectations. The deer walking the property was a beautiful sight to see. The staff were always extremely pleasant and ready to assist with anything. This place a so peaceful and relaxing that you never want to leave.

This was a long-anticipated trip for myself(from CT) and a friend who lives in the south and longs for fall foliage. The Lodge itself is a beautiful historic structure, well maintained in the common rooms and exterior. A welcoming entryway leads to a comfy and spacious common room; stone fireplace, warmly lit, rocking chairs overlooking the mountains, nicely arranged clusters...

We only stayed 1 night at the Lodge but had a wonderful time. We stayed in a Traditional Room on the back side, downstairs. If you want to stay on the back side but upstairs, be sure to ask for a terrace room when you make your reservation. You can walk out from your room onto a balcony that overlooks...

We had a great two-day stay at Great Meadows Lodge. The views at the lodge and along the drive were spectacular. The accommodations were comfortable, well-kept and clean. Service was great at the restaurants.
