We go up to Skyline Drive and hike in the National Park at least once per year. We have always wanted to stay at Big Meadows because we like the hiking trails in that area. We have stayed at Skyland before and really enjoyed it,...More
We've been several times and have enjoyed it greatly. The lodge holds lots of history but with very modern touches. We've enjoyed eating there several times over the years and going out on the back deck to look into the Shenandoah Valley below, watch a...More

Hello, Hello! Thank you for the great review. We hope you enjoy your next visit as much as your past ones. :) See you again.
The lodge was beautiful and comfortable. I arrived at night and the view of the sky from the balcony in the back was breathtaking, almost surreal. The only con was the air conditioner did not work but thankfully it wasn't a hot night. The fan...More

Thank you for the great review! One of the great things about being up above 3,000 feet is the air is fresh and evening and night time temperatures make it lovely to sleep with the windows open. Sorry about the A/C unit.. We can usually...More

Sorry for the late response. The hotel rooms or non-main lodge mostly face the woods. Still pretty though. If you want a valley view, you should stay in the mail lodge. I love those old rooms anyway. Do not expect modern amenities. The rooms are about in the original condition when the place was built. No A/C, small showers or tub, rustic, but I love it. Hope this helps.
