Our time here was great! We stayed in site 23 in loop A. The bathroom was a short trail walk away. No more than 20 yards. Through a field covered in ferns. Our children enjoyed a nearby hike, the River Loop Trail. For $16 the site was clean and easily reserved. We will definitely stay here again.

This is one of two primary campgrounds in the North Cascades Recreational Area. They take reservations - and a lot of sites were already reserved when we decided to check a few days before our trip. Fortunately we were arriving on a Sunday. The weekend was almost completely booked. We camped here a lot years ago, but our preferred area...

It was our first time at Newhalem campground and we just loved it. It not the typical CROWDED national park campground. It offers large campsites with plenty of trees and bushes. The walk-in sites are all equiped with a bear container, a firepit and a table. The place is well maintained and very clean. There is no showers but you...

I can't think of a better place to stay in the area. Best campground bathrooms ever, clean, quiet, and $16 a night! Plus you can reserve in advance through reserve America. Close to the seattle power and light.

Wonderful roomy campground with most areas in the shade. Being in a National Recreation Area, dogs are permitted on the several trails around the campground. Near-by lakes are only a short drive on scenic Highway 20. Park Service staff were very helpful.

Chose a "walk in" site because of great review on TripAdvisor - all other sites would be booked on weekend, so checked into walk-in midweek & got one of the primo, riverside sites. Completely alone 2 nites, then area filled w friendly, considerate neighbors on weekend. Camp hosts were friendly, helped me set up tent, & even gave me coffee...

We choose this campground because you could reserve a site. Our site was deep with 3 different areas to erect our sleeping tent and screen tent (not all level, but still nice). We stayed on site 78 which parallels the road to the visitor center, which can be busy from 9 am - 6 pm, but not enough to be...

We visited this campground on a recent trip and experienced the "WALK IN" option for camping.... you park your car and carry your camping supplies a short distance to isolated campsites in the middle of a forest of trees. the sites have picnic tables, grills and elevated tent pads... some have two tent pads. Some sites are directly adjacent to...

I really enjoyed this campground. I camped for 1 night in a tent in mid-August and there was only 1 other camper within my loop (B). The trails around the campground are quiet and enjoyable. I looked at camping at Gooddell Creek, which is $2/night cheaper, but it was significantly fuller (it's also much smaller) and none of the river...

We've stayed in quite a few NP campgrounds in the last month and this was definitely the nicest! The sites are nice size, have asphalt parking areas that are pretty level, are private and have shade. The bathrooms appear quite new and are nice and clean - the best NP campground bathrooms we have encountered! No showers and no electric...
