I loved my stay at Volcano House! The hotel itself has a historic and rustic feel to it. Keep that in mind if you are expecting a 4/5 star resort/hotel. You are paying for the unbelievable view day in and day out you get of the glowing and breathing caldera. The lobby has a beautiful seating area with large windows...

Arrived on the evening to mimosas and freshly warm cookies! Room was basic and dated, sometimes a little cold but you won't spend any time in there anyway, so much to see and do around. The breakfast omelettes made while you wait are good but it can get a little busy especially on the Sunday we were there. Parking can...

Setting is great and very convenient for exploring the park. Volcano view rooms do have a view although obscured in part by tree for room 21. Hotel feels a bit tired, bathroom is tiny but strangely there is a large area for suitcase. Safe didn't work but very helpful staff fixed it. Breakfast is ok and dinner is also ok,...

My wife took me to Volcano House restaurant for my birthday and very special it was too. We had a magnificent dinner with the glow from the lava lake in the background. The staff there helped to make it special and I really enjoyed it.

I recently stayed and dined at Volcano House in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The bed and room were super comfy and clean. I really enjoyed my room however it did not overlook the volcano. It overlooked the parking lot. So if you are interested in watching the glow of the volcano from your room ensure that you have a room...

Doesn't macadamia nut pesto sound good? The first bite was but a few bites in and I realized my pasta was swimming in oil - way too much oil. My husband had the other vegetarian veggie - stir-fry which he said was excellent. Reservations are recommended, in fact I called the night before and never got a call back. Went...

The menu for lunch sounds exquisite (dinner is worse), don't be dubbed, they don't care, they know you won't come back. The tomato soup and baby grilled cheese sounded great choice for a rainy day, The soup was cold (Campbell's soup is better) and baby sandwich meant only half of a grilled cheese sandwich, $11 and hungry. I've tried the...

The whole experience at the crater rim was fantastic.. Fire is the crater and we saw a rainbow. Food at the volcano house is good plus it was a great spot to sit out while it was gently raining, then out came the rainbow

My wife and I arrived at Volcano National Park around noon on a Monday and spent several hours hiking around the rainforest and steam vents in pouring rain before we checked into the hotel. Upon arrival we were greeted with very friendly staff and mimosas! The rooms are spacious and quaint; although they don't have TV's you shouldn't see this...

The food is good and priced moderately high. This is your only choice to eat if you do not have a reservation for the more formal running area. April our waitress was phenomenal and I would ask for her if we return. The atmosphere is a little loud to maybe very loud. We would return.
